Just met him at a con and not only does he have some of the bluest eyes I've ever seen, but he's still fit and gorgeous for his age.

Attractive enough but utterly bland and forgettable onscreen.

There's a reason he never really broke through to leading man status in TV or film (despite working a lot and for decades): he just doesn't have IT.

Can't be easy to always be the third or fourth casting choice for 40 years.....

I really respect him for staying the course ...many have tried and failed.

I first saw him in BURIED ALIVE. Jennifer Jason Leigh played his dastardly wife who cheats on him and plots his murder with the man she's cheating with. Despite the murder attempt, he doesn't die, and he ends up getting revenge on both of them.

I used to work with a skinny Caucasian woman who liked to do coke. She told me that she was in a ski resort area (I forgot where) and she ran into Tim Matheson. My coworker looked at him, and said: "Are you Otter?"

Co-worker ended up in Tim's lodgings and "fucked his brains out."

I do believe her story. She was dating a semi-celebrity (a local newscaster). Plus, she had never bragged to me about fucking any other celebrity.

I met him once years ago when he wanted to do a project with me. Seemed like a nice guy but he was kind of dim. For some reason I thought he'd be brighter. Didn't do the project. Didn't get any kind of gay vibe from him either.

He got the part in The Virginian from his guest spot on Adam-12 as a country bumpkin who was new to LA and ended up stealing a horse.

Tim has been working steadily since 1961. IMDB lists 199 acting credits. He is credited as appearing in at least six episodes of 18 different TV shows. He also has 45 directing credits. I always forget he was Jonny Quest.

Some consider his breakthrough role to be the oldest child in the Lucille Ball/Henry Fonda comedy Yours, Mine and Ours from 1968.

My introduction to him was as the antagonist in A Very Brady Sequel movie.

He appeared in the 1991 Susan Lucci thriller The Woman Who Sinned. The scene where he emerges from a pool in tiny black shorts at the 3 min 57 sec mark is scorching just for his body alone. He was in his 40s at the time and puts the young himbos of today to shame.

I like him a lot. I'm an actor and am incredibly jealous of his long career and just being a solid working Los Angeles actor who has experienced every era in film/tv for over sixty years. He seems like the ultimate, "I know where the bodies are buried" Hollywood guy having literally worked with every actor you've ever heard of!

When I met him at the con, I purposely picked a hot 8x10 still of him from Animal House for him to sign. I posed for a selfie with him too, and was delighted when his arm came around my back and he rested his hand on my shoulder. I did the same to him, of course.

I loved him in the Mel Brooks To Be Or Not To Be remake. I thought it was his best work I'd ever seen. Brooks is known for spotting talent -he's a very serious filmmaker even if the film itself isn't serious.

Loved him in The West Wing playing the first VP. A lot of his characters are sneaky but likable and sexy. It's a talent of his.

His episode of Gilbert Gottfried's podcast was pretty solid. He's one of those nice guys in Hollywood who's worked with everyone and done a little bit of everything. He's like a male Brenda Vaccaro.

He also starred in Up The Creek as a sexy miscreant forced into a river rafting race by his college dean. The movie was in such heavy rotation on HBO in the late 80s that it's seared in my memory.

I wonder why Matheson and Steve Guttenberg didn't have bigger careers - probably bad role choices.

I was watching Leave It To Beaver episodes recently and was reminding that Tim Matheson played Beaver's friend Michael in a few episodes during the last season. You never know if a cute boy grows into a good looking adult. Tim Matheson did, Tony Dow did. Jerry Matters unfortunately did not. Puberty was not kind to him.

I had such a crush on him as a kid! I loved his mouth. His lips and his teeth were just so adorable. He was omnipresent for decades. I had no idea he was in The West Wing! Or that he's directed episodes of Suits and Criminal Minds.

The "Killing Reagan" TV movie sounds interesting. Matheson plays Reagan and Cynthia Nixon IS Nancy.
