Prolific in film and television, but probably most known as Eric “Otter” Stratton in Animal House. Started working as a child actor and has never really stopped, as he’s still acting today at 75. He was also hot as fuck.
Had a crush on him when he was younger

Just met him at a con and not only does he have some of the bluest eyes I've ever seen, but he's still fit and gorgeous for his age.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 17, 2023 4:09 AM |
Attractive enough but utterly bland and forgettable onscreen.
There's a reason he never really broke through to leading man status in TV or film (despite working a lot and for decades): he just doesn't have IT.

Can't be easy to always be the third or fourth casting choice for 40 years.....
I really respect him for staying the course ...many have tried and failed.

Why “Obsessed with a Married Woman” isn’t on blu-ray is the cultural crime of the millennium. He co-stars with Jane Seymour and shares a shower sequence with Richard (David from “One Day at a Time”)Masur!

[quote]he just doesn't have IT.
He's actually got two very plump, taut "IT"s.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 17, 2023 4:32 AM |
I've always liked him. Wish he could've had a bigger career.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 17, 2023 4:32 AM |
I like him in The Virginian. There's a fanfic out there of The Virginian (James Drury) and Trampas (Doug McClure) having their way sexually with his character on the show.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 17, 2023 4:33 AM |
Was he in Porky's?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 17, 2023 4:38 AM |
I first saw him in BURIED ALIVE. Jennifer Jason Leigh played his dastardly wife who cheats on him and plots his murder with the man she's cheating with. Despite the murder attempt, he doesn't die, and he ends up getting revenge on both of them.

I used to work with a skinny Caucasian woman who liked to do coke. She told me that she was in a ski resort area (I forgot where) and she ran into Tim Matheson. My coworker looked at him, and said: "Are you Otter?"
Co-worker ended up in Tim's lodgings and "fucked his brains out."
I do believe her story. She was dating a semi-celebrity (a local newscaster). Plus, she had never bragged to me about fucking any other celebrity.

^Too bad it wasn't a guy!
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 17, 2023 4:54 AM |
Yeah, I hate to burst everybody's bubble, but it was a young woman.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 17, 2023 4:55 AM |
I met him once years ago when he wanted to do a project with me. Seemed like a nice guy but he was kind of dim. For some reason I thought he'd be brighter. Didn't do the project. Didn't get any kind of gay vibe from him either.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 17, 2023 5:13 AM |
I’d be damn glad to meet him!
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 17, 2023 5:55 AM |
Tim Matheson was the voice of Jonny Quest (not the announcer voice used in the bumper - that was Mike Road):

No, but Animal House is kind of like Porky’s with class.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 17, 2023 1:34 PM |
They are nothing alike. Porky’s is cheap doggerel.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 17, 2023 1:37 PM |
I liked him in Yours, Mine and Ours.

Just finished fucking Meg Tilly in Impulse…
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 17, 2023 2:07 PM |
I thought he was such a cutiepie on an episode of RHODA where he played a young FBI agent who romances Brenda.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 17, 2023 2:13 PM |
He got the part in The Virginian from his guest spot on Adam-12 as a country bumpkin who was new to LA and ended up stealing a horse.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 17, 2023 2:17 PM |
Tim has been working steadily since 1961. IMDB lists 199 acting credits. He is credited as appearing in at least six episodes of 18 different TV shows. He also has 45 directing credits. I always forget he was Jonny Quest.

Ultra-twink Tim Matheson getting an army physical from Tom Bosley in the pre-Mame Lucy film Yours, Mine, and Ours.

Some consider his breakthrough role to be the oldest child in the Lucille Ball/Henry Fonda comedy Yours, Mine and Ours from 1968.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 17, 2023 2:27 PM |
My introduction to him was as the antagonist in A Very Brady Sequel movie.
I agree, R2, his blue eyes are mesmerizing.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 17, 2023 2:37 PM |
He appeared in the 1991 Susan Lucci thriller The Woman Who Sinned. The scene where he emerges from a pool in tiny black shorts at the 3 min 57 sec mark is scorching just for his body alone. He was in his 40s at the time and puts the young himbos of today to shame.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 17, 2023 2:39 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 31 | September 17, 2023 2:43 PM |
^I wish.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | September 17, 2023 2:43 PM |
I like him a lot. I'm an actor and am incredibly jealous of his long career and just being a solid working Los Angeles actor who has experienced every era in film/tv for over sixty years. He seems like the ultimate, "I know where the bodies are buried" Hollywood guy having literally worked with every actor you've ever heard of!
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 17, 2023 4:23 PM |
^True. He’s had an enviable career for any actor who just wants to earn a living at it and doesn’t have any aspirations at being the next Tom Cruise.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 17, 2023 4:38 PM |
When I met him at the con, I purposely picked a hot 8x10 still of him from Animal House for him to sign. I posed for a selfie with him too, and was delighted when his arm came around my back and he rested his hand on my shoulder. I did the same to him, of course.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 17, 2023 4:44 PM |
I loved him in the Mel Brooks To Be Or Not To Be remake. I thought it was his best work I'd ever seen. Brooks is known for spotting talent -he's a very serious filmmaker even if the film itself isn't serious.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 17, 2023 5:16 PM |
Loved him in The West Wing playing the first VP. A lot of his characters are sneaky but likable and sexy. It's a talent of his.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 17, 2023 6:05 PM |
Sexy.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 18, 2023 2:58 AM |
he was smart to get into directing....
and he stayed out of the tabloids for 60 years.

Why are we acting like he's dead? He still has a long way to go!
by Anonymous | reply 41 | September 18, 2023 3:14 AM |
^We’re not! We’re giving him his flowers!
by Anonymous | reply 42 | September 18, 2023 9:33 AM |
I can't believe he's 75. Time goes by way too quickly for my liking.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | September 18, 2023 9:42 AM |
Here he is in April. Damn, that's one sexy 75-year-old. He's more than 40 years my senior and I'd still do him in a heartbeat.
He's lucky that he has those gorgeous blue eyes because you focus on them so much that you don't even notice all the wrinkles and sagging skin around them.

R10 that is a great movie. And has been a difficult one to find through a streaming service.

Decent of him to show it off twice.

I loved Animal House, but cannot recall him in it, he was definitely hot as fuck. I'd still go there now too
by Anonymous | reply 49 | September 23, 2023 4:40 AM |
Bullshit ^^ he was the fucking rush chairman. He went after the Dean’s wife. He gave the speech in defense of America. He’s one of the two keys to the entire fucking movie
by Anonymous | reply 50 | September 23, 2023 4:45 AM |
His episode of Gilbert Gottfried's podcast was pretty solid. He's one of those nice guys in Hollywood who's worked with everyone and done a little bit of everything. He's like a male Brenda Vaccaro.
I bet in the 90s, people confused him with Timothy Hutton.

He dated Fawn Liebowitz of Emily Dickinson College 🤙🏼.

R53 that name has stuck with me from the first time I saw that movie. Pure genius.

I jerked off to his towel-dropping scene in Animal House so many times I wore out the tape. The things we had to do to get off before the internet...
by Anonymous | reply 55 | September 23, 2023 6:23 AM |
He also starred in Up The Creek as a sexy miscreant forced into a river rafting race by his college dean. The movie was in such heavy rotation on HBO in the late 80s that it's seared in my memory.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | September 23, 2023 7:28 AM |
I wonder why Matheson and Steve Guttenberg didn't have bigger careers - probably bad role choices.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | September 23, 2023 8:04 AM |
R3 For a stunning example of the bland, A Little Sex will do. Costarring the equally bland Lady Shiksa Spielberg.

I was watching Leave It To Beaver episodes recently and was reminding that Tim Matheson played Beaver's friend Michael in a few episodes during the last season. You never know if a cute boy grows into a good looking adult. Tim Matheson did, Tony Dow did. Jerry Matters unfortunately did not. Puberty was not kind to him.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | September 23, 2023 2:28 PM |
I had such a crush on him as a kid! I loved his mouth. His lips and his teeth were just so adorable. He was omnipresent for decades. I had no idea he was in The West Wing! Or that he's directed episodes of Suits and Criminal Minds.
The "Killing Reagan" TV movie sounds interesting. Matheson plays Reagan and Cynthia Nixon IS Nancy.

R6- I forgot his name but the fully dressed guy in that scene- I bet he looked good naked back in 1977.

He did an episode of White Collar in 2010. Even today, he’s hitter than Matt Bomer.
