I read one of the tax forums on Reddit and you'd be surprised at how many people ask questions about how to deal with their OnlyFans, Chaturbate, etc. accounts, and what kinds of expenses are deductible, and how not to let anyone know what they really do. A lot of them are relatively young and still living with parents. At least if they're getting paid through one of those platforms, the IRS is going to know about their income. And they have to pay self-employment tax on top of income taxes.

I have a friend who claimed his escorting activities were tips. He felt obligated to pay taxes. He listed himself as freelance actor, and had listed his own company's name as his employer. He hasn't been caught yet. Maybe he is overlooked because he does pay taxes.
