What they didn't say was they only had the ability to request a seal, and the final decision was up to the judge. No one involved thought for a minute the judge would be agreeable to the seal, so Ashton and Mila were led down the garden path.

Friends and family of the convicted routinely plead for leniency from judges before sentencing. They’re incapable of being objective about a person that they’ve known and loved for decades. I don’t think that writing this letter makes Kutcher & Kunis monsters nor deserving of “cancellation”.

The fact remains, he was found guilty of violent sexual abuse of at least 2 different women, with strong allegations of a possible third. While it may not have been their original intent, a letter to the Judge requesting leniency in sentencing gives the appearance that these two value their friendship with Danny over the victims' feelings. Not a good picture for actors whose careers depend on not alienating future potential audiences.
