Sad dog-like qualities

I hated him as a kid.

I kinda thought the whole world did.

He was quite big for a while, even sharing the stage with the Beatles when they first appeared on Ed Sullivan.

Really bad breath.

There was a time when pie-throwing was the height of hilarity.

A vaguely remember liking his show when I was a kid.

He had a good ear for (mystery) celebrity voices when a regular panelist on the syndicated WML, but I never found his constant mugging for the camera amusing.

Started in radio. Did Kid shows then Kids TV shows. Puppets. Skits, Characters. Frank Sinatra's daughter Nancy liked Soupy's kids show and Frank started liking him and a star was born.

My mother hated him.

"Be true to your teeth and they won't be false to you."

^ The kind of humor that passed for funny when America was "great."

I loved him as a kid. It was funny, just not to people in the flyover states.

He rules for telling kids to steal money from their parents and send it to him. Classic.

For some reason Howard Stern had a particular hatred for Soupy Sales and Chevy Chase.

Howard must not like alliterative comics.
