The Legend of Hell House (1973)

I'm watching this campy mess as tonight's feature film. Pamela Franklin as Florence Tanner, Roddy McDowall as Benjamin Franklin Fischer, Clive Revill as Dr. Lionel Barrett, Gayle Hunnicutt as Ann Barrett, Roland Culver as Rudolph Deutsch, Peter Bowles as Hanley, and Michael Gough as Emeric Belasco.

It follows a group of researchers who spend a week in the former home of a sadist and murderer, where previous paranormal investigators were inexplicably killed. Its screenplay was written by American author Richard Matheson, based upon his 1971 novel Hell House.

The early 1970s British atmosphere is like candy for me.

Pamela Franklin was pretty fierce opposite Maggie Smith in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.

How'd she end up a scream queen?

R1 because Pamela Franklin is a goddess.

I've always loved this film -it used to give me nightmares as a kid. I finally read the book a few years ago. Quite a lot of sex for a horror story!

If you like the above House on Haunted Hill is good campy fun staring Vincent Price.
