Tattletales - May 21, 1976

I never watched The Young And The Restless until 1982, so I never saw John McCook as a young man. Wow, I think at age 32 on this show, he’s the hottest man I’ve ever seen!

He should have been a bigger star.

Leslie Nielsen is pretty hot here as well.

John was definitely hot as a young man.

And if gossip is to be believed, he likes young jocks and twinks and has a huge cock. Which obviously is not relevant at his current advanced age, but when he looked like that....fuccck. That would have been a nice ride.

by Anonymousreply 1August 27, 2023 12:29 AM

John McCook was (is?) On The Bold and the Beautiful. Was he on Y&R, too?

by Anonymousreply 2August 27, 2023 12:39 AM

R3:

“He first gained prominence for his portrayal of the character Lance Prentiss on the television soap opera The Young and the Restless (from 1975 - 1980).”

It’s weird that Leslie Nielsen wasn’t married to that Candy Rhodes woman. I thought they were all married couples on Tattletales.

by Anonymousreply 4August 27, 2023 12:54 AM

Charles Nelson Reilly and Fannie Flagg appeared as a couple on Tattletales, so no, they didn't have to be married.

Back in 1976, I found Charlie Brill to be so sleazy sexy!

Charlie Brill also was rocking the Gay Clone look of 1976.

Is he giving your "banana section" a rise, OP?

by Anonymousreply 8August 27, 2023 12:59 AM

Absolutely, r8!

And here he is in the banana section on May 4, 1977! 🥵

That dimple on John's chin.....sigh

by Anonymousreply 10August 27, 2023 1:03 AM

Was Cindy Brady in this?

by Anonymousreply 11August 27, 2023 1:06 AM

John McCook had had a contract role on Bold and the Beautiful since 1987. He’s done great for himself.

by Anonymousreply 12August 27, 2023 1:18 AM

R11.

by Anonymousreply 13August 27, 2023 1:22 AM

McCook won the Daytime Emmy for best actor last year for playing the fuck out of an Erictile dysfunction story

He may win again for his current tale that’s kicking off now at next year’s awards

Plus he was the proper penguin

I’ve never heard he’s into jocks and twinks

by Anonymousreply 14August 27, 2023 1:55 AM

John was hand-picked by Bill Bell to be Eric Forrester. He is married to Laurette Sprang who was Casiopea on Battlestar Galactica. The rumor on him is yes he liked the men, but Laurette laid down the law. Me or the boys and he chose her.

When I was sick and stayed home from school, I watched Charlie Brill on Tattletales. I imagined that mustache surrounding his cock, and I rubbed and rubbed until I felt better, (not good enough for school, though...)

Bert Convy and Peter Tomarken also got me going. My imagination probably overestimated the size of their bushes, but that's what turned me on most.

I thought it was he-man Dick Sargent who was getting a little Fannie.

DL icon Mary Wickes was on once too, with a "gentleman friend."

You are absolutely right, R17. Google reminds me that it was Marcia Wallace that was paired with CNR on the show. Sorry for my error.

R5 r18

by Anonymousreply 19August 27, 2023 3:49 AM

I crushed so hard on Bert Convy, I was devastated when he died.

by Anonymousreply 20August 27, 2023 3:54 AM

Bert Convy was an actor before he was a game show host. I recognized him in a Perry Mason episode in the early 60s. If you google "Bert Convy shirtless", you will be rewarded.

Bert was a Love Boat very special guest star staple.

by Anonymousreply 22August 28, 2023 1:26 AM

I think John McCook left YR when it went to an hour. Dennis Cole then played Lance.

I think John McCook tried his luck with nighttime and features before the premiere of BB. In the beginning years of BB they were spraying the gray into his hair.

I watched another John McCook episode of Tattletales tonight, and he seemed to imply he was wary of the upcoming Carter presidency. As if Nixon had been so great or something!

He is so hot but reeks of Republican, yes?

by Anonymousreply 24August 28, 2023 2:02 AM

Gene Rayburn was a proud Democrat on this episode, though!

John McCook was very vague, so I could be reading things wrongly.

by Anonymousreply 25August 28, 2023 2:04 AM

John McCook always looks painfully constipated. Someone needs to give him a laxative.

by Anonymousreply 26August 28, 2023 2:07 AM

Eric raged so much when he saw Bridget and Ridge kiss he almost turned into the Hulk.

He's got a wit but sometimes his jokes fall flat; not saying he was anti-Carter; it could have been a zinger that failed.

He worked sort regularly in the 1980s; Dynasty, Three's Company, he was the Proper Penguin on Family Ties but he found regular work on B&B; he's lucky. They all are.

by Anonymousreply 27August 28, 2023 4:11 AM

Bert Convey played Paul Revere in an Oct. 1970 episode of Bewitched when they were visiting Salem, Massachusetts.

Oh, wow! Blond stud Christopher Stone at age 36 in 1976!

Anyone seen "Tourist" from 1980? It's a terrible TV movie about a bunch of ugly americans on a tour of Europe featuring John McCook and the missus Laurette Spang-McCook plus Adrienne Barbeau, David Groh, lee Meriwhether Marisa Berenson, big dick John Ireland and Bonnie bedelia

R29, back in 1976 audience members probably could have gone to Dupar's at Farmer's Market and gotten a whole meal -- to close to it.

by Anonymousreply 35September 24, 2023 3:34 AM

I always wondered why he and Juliet Prowse divorced. She seemed kinda dyke-y to me.

by Anonymousreply 36September 24, 2023 3:41 AM

It was always painfully clear that other couples didn't like Patti Deutsch but they openly LOATHED her husband, no-talent hack Donald Ross. He wore a wet-look combover over his bald head, hideous polyester shirts that must have smelled under the studio lights, and smoked giant cheap cigars on set.
