Here's to an even more brutal winter!

by Anonymousreply 1August 20, 2023 12:54 PM

Yeah? Five days over 100 with high humidity in St. Louis this week.

Do you know what St. Louis is like when it's over 100 and the nights are hot?

And if you're capitalizing your thread titles, OP, the verb is capitalized too.

Oh, dear.

[QUOTE] Here's to an even more brutal winter!

Climate change has meant mild winters for me. 🤷‍♂️

I will cradle my mug as it's never been cradled before!

Good.

Fall, Winter and I got into an ongoing 3-way years ago, none of us ever feels left out, we're deeply bonded, and Summer is just our break from each other.

Fall is finally here! This weather is perfect.

Pulling the sleeve cuffs of my knitwear over my wrists, OP. Might grab a pumpkin spice latte and settle in for the new Fall themed Hallmark movie with Luke Macfarlane.

Arizona: this summer has been dragged out. We are used to very high temps for a few weeks. This year it was for over a month. This week temps have dropped to about 100° or a little less. Might sound hot to others, but after awhile one become acclimated to this weather. 70° now seems cold. To me, because of the usually dry air it seems about 12° cooler to me than the ambient # would suggest. So 94° feels like 82°.

The days are already getting shorter and I don't like it.

by Anonymousreply 11September 21, 2023 7:41 PM

Early autumn is my favourite time of the year, the sunlight looks so magical. The weaker sun almost looks like a studio light, illuminating the castle grounds next to which I live. Feels like I'm on a set when I look out my window. And the caramel-like scent of the leaves just starting to rot...

Where???? WHERE!???????

by Anonymousreply 13September 21, 2023 8:30 PM

Can mug cradling be far behind!?

Who cares about long days? I love the night. The sooner it gets darker, the better.

Fall is finally here (officially, 9/23). I love the Autumn.

I read an article, that according to the faithul Farmer's Almanac, this winter is predicted to be quite brutal (northern NJ, here). Colder temps and more moisture i.e. SNOW (yuck). El Nino's not going to help matters.
