Aidan Quinn deserved a better career.

Reckless got me thru puberty.

by Anonymousreply 29August 22, 2023 2:47 AM

But she was an Annie for the ages.

by Anonymousreply 1August 20, 2023 1:38 AM

His career suffered an "Early Frost."

by Anonymousreply 2August 20, 2023 1:41 AM

He was GORGEOUS.

WHET?

by Anonymousreply 3August 20, 2023 1:46 AM

He was a many films and made for TV movies, but I hardly seen him in new releases after 2000. Yes, he was very handsome.

The most recent thing I remember seeing him in is Jonny Lee Miller's Sherlock Holmes show, Elementary, on CBS. He's had some credits since, including three "upcoming."

I'd do him.

by Anonymousreply 6August 20, 2023 1:52 AM

He was a handsome old man on Elementary.

by Anonymousreply 7August 20, 2023 1:53 AM

All I can recall him from is ‘An Early Frost’. It is a shame I have zero idea of what he’s been up to since the thaw.

by Anonymousreply 8August 20, 2023 2:02 AM

r8, see r5.

by Anonymousreply 9August 20, 2023 2:03 AM

I fell for him in [italic]Desperately Seeking Susan[/italic]. [italic]Practical Magic[/italic] only made it worse. He's solid. it's a pity he never work with the Coen Bros. IIRC, he kept auditioning for them, never got cast, and finally said: Enough!

by Anonymousreply 10August 20, 2023 2:05 AM

He was supposed to be Jesus in The Passion of the Christ.

Then it was delayed and for some reason Willem Dafoe had the part.

by Anonymousreply 11August 20, 2023 3:18 AM

^That was The Last Temptation of Christ

by Anonymousreply 12August 20, 2023 3:21 AM

I have had a crush on him for years

I'm probably the only person who preferred him to Brad Pitt in Legends of the Fall

by Anonymousreply 13August 20, 2023 3:21 AM

oops yes r12

big difference!

by Anonymousreply 14August 20, 2023 3:24 AM

He was gorgeous in Legends of the Fall. It was a waste to use him in that movie. I guess, in real life, a father (Anthony Hopkins) and a woman could prefer one brother (Brad Pitt) to another. But it just seemed a bit implausible.

by Anonymousreply 15August 20, 2023 3:24 AM

*Reckless” almost killed me. I subsequently spent a lot of time in my room with two double A batteries and Mr. Vye Brator. I waited for Quinn to become a star but it never happened. I think today there are so many more acting opportunities than in the past- he would have had a wider audience to get people’s hoohas in an uproar. He was just a gorgeous man and he could act, too.

by Anonymousreply 16August 20, 2023 3:37 AM

He was brave to take the role in An Early Frost right when his career was starting. Seems like a good person,

by Anonymousreply 17August 20, 2023 3:41 AM

His tv showwas excellent and would have been a huge hit on streaming. It was before it's time.

After falling for him in Desperately Seeking Susan (loved him in those 30s wide-legged trousers), I sat through some stinkers because of him. (Same as with Julian Sands.)

I suppose he's had a solid career as a working actor, though.

by Anonymousreply 19August 20, 2023 2:55 PM

Why'd he get replaced in Last Temptation of Christ.

by Anonymousreply 20August 21, 2023 3:22 AM

He was in a well-received revival of Horton Foote's "The Young Man from Atlanta" just before COVID. Wish I'd seen that...

by Anonymousreply 21August 21, 2023 3:36 AM

So did Adrien Brody.

by Anonymousreply 22August 21, 2023 3:40 AM

Loved him in This is My Father starring our hirsute friend James Caan and and The Playboys with Albert Finney and Robin Wright, both on location in Ireland

by Anonymousreply 23August 21, 2023 3:45 AM

"This is My Father" was written and directed by Aidan's brother Paul and photographed by his brother Declan.

Kate Beckinsale stole the show in “Haunted”, but he was delightful eye candy.

by Anonymousreply 25August 21, 2023 4:10 AM

Is he an Irish homosexual?

by Anonymousreply 26August 21, 2023 4:12 AM

Nah, I think he's straight. He married Elizabeth Bracco, Lorraine's sister.

by Anonymousreply 27August 21, 2023 6:07 PM

He has an autistic kid which I think he has said influenced his career. (not wanting to be to far from home etc.)

by Anonymousreply 28August 22, 2023 1:45 AM

He was drop dead gorgeous in the 80s
