[quote]Notes of Autumn is set to premiere on Saturday, September 16 on the Hallmark Channel.

by Anonymousreply 1August 19, 2023 7:01 PM

The sublime Porte.

by Anonymousreply 2August 19, 2023 7:02 PM

From articles, it sounds like another version of The Holiday except one couple is gay

by Anonymousreply 3August 19, 2023 7:15 PM

Cool I'll watch it even if just to show support

by Anonymousreply 4August 19, 2023 7:19 PM

He's hot. I also think it's great Hallmark is doing this in the face of a flurry of flyover frau-outrage.

by Anonymousreply 5August 19, 2023 7:23 PM

This is why I left that vile place. Does Hallmark make a "I hope you look forward to burning in HELL" card?

by Anonymousreply 6August 19, 2023 7:25 PM

GAY MUG CRADLING!! Hairy..... sweaters and PUMPKIN SPICE.... anilingus.

by Anonymousreply 7August 19, 2023 7:30 PM

I wish Luke Macfarlane would play my love interest.

by Anonymousreply 8August 19, 2023 8:03 PM

One Dozen Moms will not be happy.

by Anonymousreply 9August 19, 2023 8:06 PM

This may be bigger success than Bros.

Unlike Miss Eichner, gay men actually want to fuck Peter Porte.

by Anonymousreply 10August 19, 2023 8:07 PM

Awesome. Two of my favourite out gay actors in the same movie as lovers! Who!

by Anonymousreply 11August 19, 2023 8:26 PM

They're just fuckbuddies, R11? They look like they're dating.

by Anonymousreply 12August 19, 2023 8:35 PM

After DL made a big stink about it a few years back, I saw the Hallmark movie with Peter Porte and Andie McDowell as his mother.

The movie was terrible, even by Hallmark standards. But, it did have the draw of being an early gay Hallmark movie.

I wouldn't mind watching Luke Macfarlane and Peter Porte romancing each other. At least they look better together than Porte did with his other co-star.

by Anonymousreply 13August 19, 2023 9:00 PM

R13 Surprisingly that wasn't actually a Hallmark movie. It aired on Paramount Network (not to be confused with Paramount+).

by Anonymousreply 14August 19, 2023 9:15 PM

I will watch. They’re both attractive and we all need to cradle a mug from time to time.

by Anonymousreply 15August 19, 2023 9:21 PM

Well, it seems like HALLMARK is joining the ranks of other popular 'streamers' in producing gay theme movies! Sugar sweet family productions to same sex love stories, WHAT NEXT?

by Anonymousreply 16August 19, 2023 9:34 PM

[quote][R13] Surprisingly that wasn't actually a Hallmark movie. It aired on Paramount Network (not to be confused with Paramount+).

It wasn't? I remember reading about it in some breathlessly reported thread about Hallmark deciding to make some gay movies. I guess I just assume it was a Hallmark movie although I must have watched it on Paramount if they're the ones who made it.

[quote]Well, it seems like HALLMARK is joining the ranks of other popular 'streamers' in producing gay theme movies! Sugar sweet family productions to same sex love stories, WHAT NEXT?

That was a while ago. You seem to have missed the numerous thread about DL Fav Candace Cameron Bure's departure from the channel for ideological reasons masked as creativity differences.

by Anonymousreply 17August 19, 2023 9:36 PM

[quote] It wasn't? I remember reading about it in some breathlessly reported thread about Hallmark deciding to make some gay movies.

That year, there were three gay movies (well, two and part of a third). The one with Peter Porte and Andi McDowell was on Paramount Network. There was a surprisingly strong one with real-life married couple Blake Lee and Ben Lewis (with Fran Drescher playing the latter’s mother) on Lifetime. Hallmark had one where Jonathan Bennett played the gay son of Treat Williams and Sharon Lawrence, but he was more in a supporting role.

Last year, Bennett was the lead in a pretty decent one on Hallmark as well.

by Anonymousreply 18August 19, 2023 9:41 PM

Cool. I’ll watch.

by Anonymousreply 19August 19, 2023 10:55 PM

VotN - you are one of the few people on DL whose memory for this type of uselessness rivals my own.

I tip my hat to you.

by Anonymousreply 20August 19, 2023 10:56 PM

[quote]VotN - you are one of the few people on DL whose memory for this type of uselessness rivals my own.

I should have been more specific when I asked God for a superpower.

by Anonymousreply 21August 19, 2023 11:03 PM

Porte is pretty but he canNOT act worth a tinker's fart.

by Anonymousreply 22August 20, 2023 1:44 AM

Speaking of Hallmark, one of their movies is on right now and the female lead is discovering her 'Mexican' roots via a hunky Spanish teacher just as she approaches her 30th birthday, where she will celebrate a double quinceanara. The elephnant in the room is that this woman is 47 years old if she is a day and no amoubnt of botox (of which there is clearly a lot) can hide that fact.

by Anonymousreply 23August 20, 2023 2:10 AM

R23 I'm assuming you're talking about this one. She's actually in her early 30s but I can understand what you mean

Since BROS didn't light up the box-office, they drummed Luke out of Hollywood so he's crawling back to Hallmark.

by Anonymousreply 25August 20, 2023 2:38 AM

R24, yeah that's the one. Her D.O.B. is listed as 1988, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was 'Zeta-Jonesed' from 1978

by Anonymousreply 26August 20, 2023 2:52 AM

R26 She was in the Spy Kids movies in the early 2000s, she's definitely her age.

by Anonymousreply 27August 20, 2023 3:05 AM

They should have gotten faggot Matt Damon to star in it

by Anonymousreply 28August 20, 2023 3:07 AM

R27, wow, then she just looks old and the fillers don't help.

by Anonymousreply 29August 20, 2023 3:25 AM

Hopefully all the "queer" critics won't lambaste it again for not being transgressive enough, like they did with Single All the Way. Fluff serves its purpose as well.

by Anonymousreply 30August 20, 2023 5:13 AM

I'll probably watch it, but it's so far outside usual gay experiences. Gay people generally sleep together first (or very very quickly after their first meeting) and then decide to date if they're compatible in bed and had nice pillow talk after the deed. So the Hallmark thing of inheriting the inn in the small town after a stint as a high-powered lawyer in the "BIG CITY" and meeting the sweet handyman who shows up the shallowness of the ex-boyfriend corporate realtor back in the city just doesn't translate too well to any sort of gay relationship. First of all, only one gay man in 1000 is looking to settle down in a small town whose main industry is making Christmas ornaments and packets of pumpkin spice.

by Anonymousreply 31August 20, 2023 9:55 AM

The two leads look like burn victims who used shoe polish to paint on facial hair.

by Anonymousreply 32August 20, 2023 11:04 AM

[quote]Since BROS didn't light up the box-office, they drummed Luke out of Hollywood so he's crawling back to Hallmark.

Didn't he sign a deal with Hallmark before Bros released?

It was kind of a big deal that he got one - at least on DL - since those deals are for the likes of DL Fav Candace Cameron Bure and Lori Laughlin, the former queens of Hallmark movies.

by Anonymousreply 33August 20, 2023 11:32 AM

[quote]Porte is pretty but he canNOT act worth a tinker's fart.

Yes, he's on Days of our Lives now and is terrible.

But I'll watch the movie anyway.

by Anonymousreply 34August 20, 2023 12:29 PM

R28 "Matt Damon Fag" is played out and nasty. FF this ridiculous troll.

by Anonymousreply 35August 20, 2023 12:33 PM

I think it’s great that Hallmark is finding work for the fags.

by Anonymousreply 36August 20, 2023 1:24 PM

R28, I'm pretty sure the joke was actually more about Crazy Rudy being revealed to have called Matt Damon a FAG two weeks ago.

It's timely.

by Anonymousreply 37August 20, 2023 2:12 PM

I am going to watch it. I like this stuff. It's like caviar.

by Anonymousreply 38August 20, 2023 4:13 PM

r38

by Anonymousreply 39August 20, 2023 4:14 PM

r38 Salty and stinking like fish?

by Anonymousreply 40August 20, 2023 6:40 PM

Does anyone watch that Hallmark show that has commercials on constantly during the Golden Girls and which seems to be set in 19th century Canadian frontier, and yet all the women (one in particular) have chunky blonde highlights? I am okay with some ananchronisms, but chunky blonde highlights are just a bridge too far...

by Anonymousreply 41August 20, 2023 11:46 PM

From the preview, I wish Luke would’ve hooked up with the other guy. The one he hooks up with has eyes way too far apart.

by Anonymousreply 43September 14, 2023 10:14 PM

Who among the Hallmark “hunks” past and present are gay? Any rumors about Josh Kelly or Steve Lund?

by Anonymousreply 44September 14, 2023 10:41 PM

Finally a hot couple but this should be on Netflix or Max or Onlyfans

by Anonymousreply 45September 14, 2023 10:52 PM

R44, Julian Morris

by Anonymousreply 46September 14, 2023 10:54 PM

Jake Foy

Jonathan Bennett

George Krissa

Juan Pablo Di Pace

Kyle Dean Massey

There are probably some lesbians also, but I wouldn't know them.

by Anonymousreply 47September 14, 2023 11:37 PM

R35

by Anonymousreply 48September 15, 2023 12:51 AM

Which should I watch, this or “Mr. Sardonicus”?

by Anonymousreply 49September 17, 2023 12:20 AM

That was a cute though obviously predictable Hallmark movie. Nice that the movie ended on a kiss between both couples (complete with a split screen 'The End')

by Anonymousreply 50September 17, 2023 5:02 AM

All of you who watched this filth will burn in hell for eternity.

by Anonymousreply 51September 17, 2023 5:29 PM

Luke has manly hands.

by Anonymousreply 52September 17, 2023 7:20 PM

What if kids see this filth? How will we protect them from groomers?

by Anonymousreply 53September 17, 2023 7:25 PM

Good for them, good for all the homeowners out there in tv land. I applaud them.

by Anonymousreply 54September 17, 2023 7:29 PM

Marcus Rosner is a barely adequate actor and his face gives me the creeps, somehow. Officially 34 but he looks gay 50 trying to pass for 34.

by Anonymousreply 55September 22, 2023 10:55 AM

Wow sorry, I fucked that up. I meant to snark about Peter Porte!! Who is 39 officially. I still think he looks gay 50, though.

by Anonymousreply 56September 22, 2023 10:57 AM

Why is this person not only constantly promoting Hallmark on here to people who do not watch Hallmark, but constantly replying to himself on the thread as well as bumping the thread? Dude. The thread isn’t gonna happen. Let it go. Know what site you’re on. We are not their audience. Use common sense. Know your surroundings

by Anonymousreply 57September 22, 2023 11:05 AM

I just watched this. I thought it was new but according to my guide it actually first aired back in January. Typical Hallmark drivel only made watchable because of the appeal of the actors. As with most everything he's in, Luke deserved better.

by Anonymousreply 58September 23, 2023 10:27 PM

you are mistaken. It is new.

by Anonymousreply 59September 23, 2023 10:59 PM

You know the implication is their having anal sex!

by Anonymousreply 60September 23, 2023 11:23 PM

did you mean they are?

by Anonymousreply 61September 23, 2023 11:25 PM

[quote]Wow sorry, I fucked that up. I meant to snark about Peter Porte!! Who is 39 officially. I still think he looks gay 50, though.

Wouldn't it be that he is DL 50, but looks 39?

by Anonymousreply 62September 23, 2023 11:45 PM

yes that is what is said. gay 50 trying to look 39.

but he's 39 and looks 50

by Anonymousreply 63September 23, 2023 11:50 PM

[quote]Typical Hallmark drivel only made watchable because of the appeal of the actors.

But it's GAY drivel, and it's on Hallmark.

by Anonymousreply 64September 24, 2023 2:32 AM

That luke guy really is cute. Was on the net looking at his pics. Only knew him from Bros.( Billy on the street’s ego obscured anything else on the screen so Luke didn’t really register)

by Anonymousreply 65September 24, 2023 3:06 AM

Luke and his partner Hig Roberts are busy caring for their new daughter.

What rating is this movie? Will clothes come off?

by Anonymousreply 67September 24, 2023 5:38 AM

R66, too adorable!

by Anonymousreply 68September 24, 2023 6:38 AM

[quote]What rating is this movie? Will clothes come off?

It's rated "Hallmark." No further description or details are required.

by Anonymousreply 69September 24, 2023 7:27 AM

Inquiring minds want to know if Hig impregnated Luke, or Luke impregnated Hig. And picture or video of said act would be appreciated.

by Anonymousreply 70September 24, 2023 9:17 AM

There has to be more to gay themed movies than 'two cute white boys/men meet cute/breakup cute/rekindle cute/ride off into the sunset cute'? 🥰 Or older, lonely white hunk/,daddy (no older than 40 or thereabouts)meets cute white twink to show him what he's been missing'-namely young white twink bussy?

Maybe the new Paul Mescal/Andrew Scott movie will be different, but since it's the same guy who did Looking,I'm not holding out 😞 much hope 😔

by Anonymousreply 71September 24, 2023 9:50 AM

Luke will be all over basic cable it seems. Lifetime is showing "Amish Stud" and Luke is the stud of the 2-hour movie!

It's based on a TRUE story! Can Luke really play evil?

Can he convey religious with secret side of having a mistress?

Are Amish men as buff as Luke? Do those Amish men maintain such well-trimmed beards?

Will he leave mug-cradling fraus across this great country swooning on their Raymour & Flanagan sectionals?

by Anonymousreply 72September 24, 2023 11:54 AM

I enjoyed the movie. Nothing too heavy but it was a nice distraction. Exactly what Hallmark movies are supposed to be.

Luke and Peter made a cute couple.

by Anonymousreply 73September 24, 2023 2:36 PM

[quote]What rating is this movie? Will clothes come off?

Seriously? Hallmark even bleeps reruns of "Reba" when they use words like "ass."

by Anonymousreply 74September 24, 2023 2:53 PM

R74, don’t they also bleep the B word in Golden Girls? I agree they fall more on the conservative side.

by Anonymousreply 75September 24, 2023 4:32 PM

R75, I'm pretty sure there's a moment in Notes of Autumn where Luke's character says, "my hole is so hungry right now" to Allison Williams character, so maybe not that conservative.

by Anonymousreply 76September 24, 2023 7:34 PM

I recorded it and am about 20 minutes in. I’m pretty bored so far. I’ve paused it and will come back to it later. Does it get better?

by Anonymousreply 77September 24, 2023 7:41 PM

[quote]Does it get better?

It gets more Hallmarky!

by Anonymousreply 78September 24, 2023 8:35 PM

[quote][R75], I'm pretty sure there's a moment in Notes of Autumn where Luke's character says, "my hole is so hungry right now" to Allison Williams character, so maybe not that conservative.

Does Allison offer to rim him?

by Anonymousreply 79September 24, 2023 8:43 PM

How did you all watch it? What streaming service?

by Anonymousreply 80September 24, 2023 9:30 PM

Nobody answer r80

I’m sick of them.

by Anonymousreply 81September 24, 2023 9:31 PM

[quote] I recorded it and am about 20 minutes in. I’m pretty bored so far. I’ve paused it and will come back to it later. Does it get better?

Yes, it gets better. The blowjob scene starts at the 40 minute mark. And the orgy scene is at the end.

by Anonymousreply 82September 24, 2023 11:30 PM

It's REALLY lame. His Hallmark xmas movie last year was better as was the Netflix Single all the Way, and that wasn't exactly good.
