Homophobic stabbing in London - police look for "a man" after two men were stabbed outside gay bar
Well it was never going to be a woman, was it?
Very little information being shared at this point although one of the victims posted a photo saying he was okay, with bandage wrapped around his head.
After this week's incident with the drunk autistic teen being arrested by 7 police officers for telling a police woman she looked like her lesbian grandmother, I do question whether the numbers of homophobic incidents are reliable. Saying something mean should clearly be counted in a violent assault.
[quote]Home Office figures for the year ending March 2022 show that sexual orientation hate crimes in England and Wales increased by 41% to 26,152, representing the largest percentage annual increase in these offences since current records began in the year ending March 2012.
[quote]The Home Office said the overall rise could be due to better recording by police, as well as fewer cases having been recorded under Covid restrictions in 2020/21.

I meant saying something mean shouldn't be counted *in the same way* as a violent assault.

Apparently there was an attack at the same pub last week where a man was punched.
The police have issued a poor quality CCTV picture but not said anything else which is strange. Nothing about his age, race, height, accent.

I don't know why I remembered this story but it's nearly 2 years since the attack and there are no updates following the arrest of a teenager.
No news reports to say anyone was charged with the stabbings or appeared in court.
