Tasteful Friends: Rudy Giuliani's $6.5MM UES Apartment

I wouldn't decorate it like I was George Washington, but I could work with this.

It's a very handsome building externally, but FFS, is it too much to ask that the architect make some effort to align the fenestration with the floor plan? Every room along the (main) Madison Avenue elevation has its windows shoved off-center or hard into a corner; only the (rear) North elevations of the Library and Dining Room have windows centered within the spaces. Compromises are inevitable, but not in every room that fronts onto a street, that's just shoddy architecture.

The interior is not up to the exterior, but the Library and Dining Room are very attractive.

I'm not normally squeamish about these things, but this is one property where I would have the bathrooms redesigned and refitted before I moved in. Putting my ass on a toilet or bathtub where Rudy Giuliani had had his before me... No. And every inch of that place would be cleaned and repainted and repolished and aired out for weeks before I moved anything in. There are not enough smudge sticks in the world...

For starters, I'd rework the kitchen area, removing the staff quarter/bathroom and making the butler's pantry into a powder room accessible from the gallery.
