This list dates back to about 1998 on the old alt.showbiz.gossip (ASG) newsgroup. You can look up the original posts on Google Groups if you search long enough.

"The Widow Anna Nicole Smith" was a running gag on ASG, as was censoring bisexual and lesbian and writing "FOD" instead of "Friend of Dorothy."

Most of the gossip is just educated guesses to blind items at the time. A lot of it is made up or just repeats old urban legends (i.e., the Clara Bow and the USC football team rumor from "Hollywood Babylon").

A lot of it was emails received. R45 a lot of things I’ve read from A List are true, or came to be true (like Jodie Foster being a closet lesbian, Lance Bass being a gay bottom, etc) this was all before they came out. Most of the info shared on A-List were from emails she received. She even says some of it is from real insiders. And stuff that is her guesses she makes it clear with the wording.

A lot of it is true but a lot of it is fake - especially the further back in age the celebrities get. A lot of the Errol Flynn stuff, for example, is nonsense.
