Not bad for 82!

by Anonymousreply 72August 4, 2023 8:14 AM

Not bad?

by Anonymousreply 1July 30, 2023 3:08 PM

She looks 50. Good work and skincare regimen.

by Anonymousreply 2July 30, 2023 3:10 PM

I adore her. She's smart and has a great self-deprecating sense of humor.

Long live Donna!

by Anonymousreply 3July 30, 2023 3:19 PM

Back in the 80s when she was at her peak Knots Landing fame, I was living in Denver. Marvin Davis, a Coloradoan and president of 20th Century Fox at the time, used to host a star studded charity gala every year called The Carousel Ball. He managed to get the biggest names to attend, from golden age stars like Lucille Ball and Fred MacMurray to the up and coming stars and starlets.

A friend of mine and I went to the hotel all the stars were staying at and sat in the bar until they started coming back from the event. Donna Mills and Michelle Lee walked in together (both looking amazing, by the way). My friend, a huge Donna Mills fan, screamed out, "I love you, Donna!" Donna Mills heard her, looked at her, and said "Then this is for you," and turned to Michelle Lee and mock slapped her across the face.

I've loved her ever since!

by Anonymousreply 4July 30, 2023 3:37 PM

Joan Van Ark put her fist through wall after watching this.

by Anonymousreply 5July 30, 2023 3:41 PM

She does look great.

by Anonymousreply 6July 30, 2023 3:41 PM

Great story r4.

by Anonymousreply 7July 30, 2023 3:44 PM

I have no idea how she looks that stunning at 82. It shouldn't be, yet it is.

Maybe never having been married is the secret?

by Anonymousreply 8July 30, 2023 4:09 PM

She’s always been a class act.

by Anonymousreply 9July 30, 2023 4:13 PM

According to Wikipedia, she did have a long-term (male) partner for 20 years.

by Anonymousreply 10July 30, 2023 4:14 PM

She looks amazing

by Anonymousreply 11July 30, 2023 4:18 PM

Seems like a lovely person

by Anonymousreply 12July 30, 2023 4:21 PM

Looks are nothing

Is she happy or peaceful?

by Anonymousreply 13July 30, 2023 4:21 PM

She looks amazing, decades younger than her age. And she was a smoker for years!

by Anonymousreply 14July 30, 2023 4:46 PM

Love her voice.

by Anonymousreply 15July 30, 2023 7:35 PM

Donna Mills...one of the last of the good ol' broads.

by Anonymousreply 16July 30, 2023 7:35 PM

Was her father a general?

by Anonymousreply 17July 30, 2023 7:39 PM

I almost wish she had been on Falcon Crest, instead…

by Anonymousreply 18July 30, 2023 7:53 PM

She has a good publicist. And she navigated menopause well and kept her waist.

by Anonymousreply 19July 30, 2023 7:54 PM

She looks really terrific for just about any age, let alone 82. I always thought she was extremely pretty. Looks aside, did you notice her walking down rough stone steps on the hill without any handrail and not showing any trepidation, at her age? She must have kept herself physically fit all along.

by Anonymousreply 20July 30, 2023 8:00 PM

R20 She had been a dancer. She probably kept up with training. Dancers always age well.

by Anonymousreply 21July 30, 2023 8:17 PM

Thank you so much for posting this OP!

by Anonymousreply 22July 30, 2023 8:23 PM

R21 Not all…

by Anonymousreply 23July 30, 2023 8:25 PM

She looks great and moves like a woman decades younger. Good for her, I’ve liked her since Knots (although I know she’s been on the seen much longer).

by Anonymousreply 24July 30, 2023 8:31 PM

On Falcon Crest, Angela would have crushed her but she probably would have done Melissa some significant damage.

by Anonymousreply 25July 30, 2023 8:38 PM

Love that Donna, Michelle and Joan are still buddies. Seems like KL was a happy show to work on. Well, except for Tonya Crowe.

by Anonymousreply 26July 30, 2023 8:39 PM

Spy Magazine used to refer to her as Donna "More Eye Make-Up Please!" Mills.

by Anonymousreply 27July 30, 2023 8:49 PM

I think she is also one of the lucky winners of the 'genetic lottery'. Those people just age better.

by Anonymousreply 28July 30, 2023 9:00 PM

I got behind her at the WeHo Pavillions in the mid-90s. A shitload of groceries and one item I vividly remember was a box of grammar school valentines. Stunning in person. Couldn't work the CC machine.

by Anonymousreply 29July 30, 2023 9:10 PM

Donna should be getting cast in films like Book Club and 80 For Brady instead of Lifetime movies. She’s aged magnificently and is so talented. Abby Ewing forever!

by Anonymousreply 30July 30, 2023 9:12 PM

I know a few former ballerinas and they aged horribly. decades of anorexia and physical punishment isn't good for the brain or body.

by Anonymousreply 31July 30, 2023 9:25 PM

Does Miss Mills bat for the same team as Morgan Fairchild and Crystal Bernard?

by Anonymousreply 32July 30, 2023 9:51 PM

No r32

by Anonymousreply 33July 30, 2023 11:12 PM

Joe Biden is 81 OP and he's had cosmetic surgery, hair plugs and dental work and looks like her grandfather. And her mind is still apparently sharp. Comparatively speaking, she looks and sounds remarkable for 82.

by Anonymousreply 34July 30, 2023 11:27 PM

I absolutely loved this interview. She looks fabulous and seems like a really fun person. It was a wonderful surprise also given the fact I have not seen her in years and had no idea she even still acts. Good for her.

by Anonymousreply 35July 31, 2023 2:57 AM

Donna, Donna, Donna. She ain’t the only 80s soap opera queen who looks half her age and has a pussy that is still wetter than the rain forest.

I also heard Donna kicks dogs, beats children, and may have killed Bonnie Lee Blakey.

by Anonymousreply 37July 31, 2023 5:42 AM

Donna, Ellen Burstyn, and Paul Newman all had great work and/or great genes. No filter required, Brendad.

by Anonymousreply 38July 31, 2023 5:44 AM

R36 This was a terrific movie that still holds up all these years later.

by Anonymousreply 39July 31, 2023 10:34 AM

R38, Paul Newman aged horribly.

by Anonymousreply 40July 31, 2023 10:44 AM

R41, Paul Newman looking dreadful.

by Anonymousreply 42July 31, 2023 11:08 AM

I've heard her name but I don't know anything she's done. I was too young for Knots Landing.

She looks ridiculously stunning for 82. What a beautiful woman. She must have had at least some surgery done but it's the best I've ever seen and she's done all the right things.

by Anonymousreply 43July 31, 2023 11:18 AM

Some of it is genes. But much of it is lifestyle. And like she said in the interview she is doing what she loves and has no intention of slowing down. That is key. As you get older you have to remain active. Getting outside, walking keeping your mind sharp by being around other people. Working is a huge part of it. I think it sends a wonderful message for older people that life doesn’t have to end at 80.

by Anonymousreply 44July 31, 2023 11:34 AM

I Never watched Knots Landing and only know her name, but she looks good for her age. She deserves kudos for wearing a decent wig and being conservative with cosmetic procedures.

by Anonymousreply 45July 31, 2023 11:45 AM

R43 and R45 If they ever release Knots Landing on DVD or stream it on one of the services, don't miss it. Donna Mills as Abby was the best villainess EVER!

And if you want to see a young, innocent Donna, check out Play Misty for Me with Donna, Clint Eastwood, and Jessica Walter. Donna plays Clint's girlfriend who's terrorize by the deranged stalker Jessica.

by Anonymousreply 46July 31, 2023 2:27 PM

On Knots Landing, when Abby found out her daughter was a drug addict, it's one of the few times I felt sympathy for her. I loved it when she took an axe to Olivia's bathroom door, then took the hinges off her bedroom door altogether! :-)

Couldn't help but notice that in the interview closeups, even Donna's hands looked relatively young. Whatever surgery she's had is great because her face doesn't look stretched or rubbery like some others I could name (Jane Fonda).

by Anonymousreply 48July 31, 2023 2:43 PM

R43 and R45 Abby's best Knots Landing moments.

by Anonymousreply 49July 31, 2023 2:50 PM

I’d love to know how even her neck looks so youthful.

by Anonymousreply 50July 31, 2023 2:56 PM

One word....

Fedora

by Anonymousreply 51July 31, 2023 3:04 PM

R49, There was a memorable episode that featured just Donna as Abby for the entire hour disposing of a dead body.

by Anonymousreply 52July 31, 2023 3:09 PM

R52 Was that when she buried Peter Hollister at the construction site, then drove his car and left it at the airport?

by Anonymousreply 53July 31, 2023 3:13 PM

R53, Yes.

by Anonymousreply 54July 31, 2023 3:26 PM

My husband and I were outside the Ahmanson Theater in LA waiting to go inside and a woman asked me “Excuse me, would you mind taking a picture of us?” She was Donna Mills. At first i thought she looked so familiar but then my husband said “That’s Donna Mills from Knots Landing”. She was with a hot younger man. She looked incredible. Like 40 something incredible. Face was smooth and body trim…. but she was 80! My hubby said he can’t believe she looks that good. We told her how great she looks and her younger man said “doesn’t she?”. She’s got a helluva cosmetic surgeon that’s for sure. Madonna should give her a call.

by Anonymousreply 55July 31, 2023 4:18 PM

She shaved years off her true age, for years. 1943, 1946 - I would still say she looks mid 60's, tops.

by Anonymousreply 56July 31, 2023 4:48 PM

R43 get out of here

by Anonymousreply 57July 31, 2023 5:12 PM

She looked frail

by Anonymousreply 58July 31, 2023 6:00 PM

Love this scene because Karen is being all Karen, Diana is being all Diana, and Abby just pretty much stands there looking fabulous.

by Anonymousreply 59July 31, 2023 7:06 PM

She does look good for 82. Her posture is still great. She's a little Gloria Swanson/Dietrich in that scene where she and the reporter are walking through the vineyard. And clearly she's got something going on with her dentures/false teeth. If she's had work done, she was wise to keep it subtle and/or minimal.

by Anonymousreply 60July 31, 2023 7:18 PM

Speaking of wise to keep it subtle and/or minimal, Donna and Miss Dunaway were born 5 weeks apart. But Donna never had a film that was the hit of Cannes and all of Europe...

by Anonymousreply 61July 31, 2023 7:23 PM

Donna was born one day before Miss Warwick.

by Anonymousreply 62July 31, 2023 7:29 PM

Someone upthread refers to something negative with Tonya Crowe. I don’t think I’ve heard anything about that situation. I’d love it if someone could post about that, please. Thanks!

by Anonymousreply 63July 31, 2023 7:42 PM

R63, Tonya Crowe played Natalie Wood’s daughter in a couple of television movies and Natalie loved working with her.

by Anonymousreply 64July 31, 2023 7:56 PM

Donna Mills spoke highly of Tanya Crowe in, I think, her Pioneers of Television interview.

by Anonymousreply 65July 31, 2023 9:30 PM

I’ve never read anything about Donna having any issues with co-stars.

by Anonymousreply 66August 3, 2023 3:04 PM

All this talk about Donna…bitch stole my show!

by Anonymousreply 67August 3, 2023 3:15 PM

Leslie Charleson and Donna played sisters Iris and Laura on GH, right? It was years ago, I remember Leslie's Pearl Drops commercial.

by Anonymousreply 68August 3, 2023 4:04 PM

A) Whatever happened to Pearl Drips with their salacious commercials?

2) Why does WHET stand for whatever happened to?

D) Constance McCashin is a treasure. The jokes about her weight are so played out, I believe. She’s not even all that heavy. Constance is smart, acerbic, beautiful, and yes, a Goddamned national treasure.

She was born in 1940 and graduated high school in 1958. She’s had work done but still looks like Donna Mills. Her daughter is lovely and well adjusted and they both adore each other.

I think her reputation for being great to work with will keep her working until she drops dead and will never be without work. Being professional and nice and not shitting on people on the way up served her well.

by Anonymousreply 71August 4, 2023 3:10 AM

Her daughter is gorgeous.
