He actually maxed out on this first conviction for killing Jennifer Levin. Meaning: he served all his time instead of getting paroled. He had too many incidents in prison for him to get paroled.

He was only out of prison a short while before he went back in.

I watched the 2019 docu-series The Preppy Murder: Death in Central Park a few years ago and found it interesting and well done. I learned a lot about he case.

The video interrogation footage is wild, watching his lies slowly unravel. This was clearly a pampered and spoiled kid who grew up into a pampered and spoiled man. His Central Park victim was a nice person that unfortunately crossed paths with a bad guy. He also had (rich) girls all over him even after he was charged in the crime. Super weird, he was like a magnet.

The arrest years after his initial release for being a drug-addicted dealer with his crackhead girlfriend was poetic justice. This is a bad guy through and through.

At the time of the murder he had flunked out the prestigious school his mother had somehow managed to get him in despite his failing grades. He was also wanted by the police for a series of robberies. The police wanted him to stand in a line up . He also appears to be a racist: Once he arrived home, he couldn't hold a job. He was unreliable and never seemed to fit in. It soon became obvious to his friends that Robert Chambers was using drugs. He also did a few burglaries with an accomplice; breaking into apartments on the Upper East Side when he knew the owners weren't home. Later, he sold the proceeds in local stores and pawnshops. He was questioned by the police about the crimes but denied any involvement. A heavy drinker for years, his alcohol and drug abuse became severe enough for him to seek treatment at the Hazelden Clinic in Minnesota.

Nevertheless, when he returned to New York several months later, Chambers continued with his old ways. The police wanted him to stand in a line-up concerning the old burglaries and his mother was after him to get a steady job or get back in school. But he ignored them all. One night, after he left Dorrian's, police issued Chambers a summons for disorderly conduct when they found him screaming obscenities in the middle of the street. As they drove away, Chambers tore up the summons and yelled: "You fucking cowards, you should stick to niggers!"
