I can concur with the fact that it is often next to impossible to book a hotel room in Boston the same day. They probably could have found a decent suite or room(s) room for over $1,000.

I was in Boston just two months ago and the suite I reserved with Booking.com was nowhere near the location I requested and it was a claustrophobic nightmare with overwhelming noise from upstairs and the street. The only available room I could find that was not outside Boston was a pricey downtown hotel that began at $790 a night, which I reluctantly took for the next 4 days. It saved my vacation, but it cost twice as much as I initially planned.

R4, I don’t doubt that it can be hard for an anonymous citizen to book a room but I suspect Shepard and Bell could have gotten a hotel to squeeze them in.

A bit insufferable, but I've been trapped in airports unable to leave because a little known fact about "delayed" flights is that they can announce a 3 hour delay, but board and depart at ANY time after the schedule departure time.

I've almost missed a couple flights because they announced a 2 hour delay, so I went to a restaurant for some food. After the second time this happened, I stopped leaving the immediate gate area for more than a 10-15 minutes for fear of missing flights.

Not having a hotel is a whole separate matter.

Their response might have been obnoxious, or not. It really depends. If they were using up space other people needed to wait in, then yes, of course. But if not, then the airport was shitty for ejecting them.

I don't get it. I have been stuck at airports and made a little makeshift bed out of my carry on and a blanket I packed in it. I get that the airport authorities might not have wanted a tent at the gate.

But would they really throw passengers out of the airport instead of just telling them to pack it in?

My guess is that they were asked to that and also realizing they weren't getting all that shit on the plane and voluntarily left.

This is a "Look at MEEEEE" stunt but the point stands--air travel in the US is utter shiiiitte. I would prefer to drive thousands of miles in my vehicle rather than endure being stuffed into a tin can, endless delays and cancellations, rude airline employees/other flyers, and being overcharged for the experience.

Flying can be a nightmare occurrence where airlines can completely screw you over. Nice to show how them being "celebrities" didn't affect them being left stranded by an airline the same as the rest of us.
