More proof that Toronto is like NYC: Altercation in subway leads to stabbing

Person that uploaded the video describes what happened- There was an altercation between two men on a train at Englinton Station. The individual seated in front complained about the noise emanating from the phone being used by the person behind them. Subsequently, a fight broke out, during which one of the men brandished a knife and repeatedly stabbed the other individual.

OMG! Canada has been known as mostly a peaceful country, much more so than our crazy ass United States.

by Anonymousreply 1July 7, 2023 5:13 AM

Clear image of the perp now wanted for attempted murder

Toronto's subways are much cleaner.

Looking at the perp, yes. Think he might be a humanitarian "migrant" too ?

by Anonymousreply 4July 7, 2023 5:58 AM

The guy with the white shirt threw the first punch and kicked him and the second guy had the knife.

by Anonymousreply 5July 7, 2023 5:58 AM

R3 And wider! Those trains looks big! Look at how much room there is.

by Anonymousreply 6July 7, 2023 5:59 AM

My friend has been both stabbed and shot before. He said he would rather be shot.

by Anonymousreply 7July 7, 2023 6:03 AM

If you watch the video at R2, the victim really knows how to fight. No wonder he wasn't afraid to confront the other guy about the noise from his phone. If the other guy hadn't been armed, he would have got a good beating.

by Anonymousreply 8July 7, 2023 6:32 AM

Damn r8, you’re right. The victim was kicking ass before the stabbing.

by Anonymousreply 9July 7, 2023 6:41 AM

We don't know that that was the very beginning of the fight, R5.

by Anonymousreply 10July 7, 2023 12:48 PM

OP: Give up the effort to make Toronto into a NYC-like "Gotham".

We all know that there is only 1 true "Gotham" city and it's sure as heck ain't in Canada!

by Anonymousreply 11July 7, 2023 1:07 PM

True. Toronto isn't as dirty, ugly and smelly as New York.

by Anonymousreply 12July 7, 2023 1:48 PM

This is why I take uber everywhere. Not public transit

by Anonymousreply 13July 7, 2023 2:20 PM

Toronto is much uglier than NYC in terms of architecture.

by Anonymousreply 14July 7, 2023 2:23 PM

You're right, R14. New York is just one beautiful building after another.

I don't want to watch the fight. Can someone tell me of the victim is hot?

by Anonymousreply 16July 7, 2023 2:50 PM

Toronto is one bland condo after another.

Not really, R17. I started the Toronto thread a month ago.

I found the older homes have a lot of character.(Victorian, early to mid 20th century).

by Anonymousreply 19July 7, 2023 4:05 PM

Toronto is still way safer than most US cities, but some of the same dirtbag type behavior is creeping in.

by Anonymousreply 20July 7, 2023 4:07 PM

R19, yes, the older homes do but older homes in Chicago and NYC look as nice, if not better. And NYC and Chicago both have much nicer skyscrapers than Toronto. Toronto has a very bland skyline.

A comment found posted under the NY Post's coverage of this story-

That video accurately depicts the current typical demographics of Toronto. 80% young Asians with hello kitty bags, a stabby BIPOC dude, a bleeding white person, a stoic purple-haired lesbian, and a guy wearing a full parka in 90° weather.
