The trailers I've seen for it are fantastic. I dislike Cruise the person/Clam/general weirdo, but have to admit as a movie producer/fanatic he produces great action films. He is really dedicated to these type of old-school, action-y cinematic experiences, and it shows on screen.

The film, simply, needs a male hottie.

Well this was an enjoyable series of action sequences, one after the other after the other. There was a Jurassic Park inspired sequence which was good and a Narrow Margin inspired sequence and a Bourne Identity sequence and lots of others action sequences as well.

As for the "male hottie", Esai Morales is just fine in this. There's one scene where I was expecting him and Tom to kiss. And Greg Tarzan Davis (daft name) is VERY photogenic.

Hayley Atwell is enjoyable enough but doesn't elevate proceedings like Henry Cavill did.

Isn't this part one of a two-part "finale" for the franchise (at least with Cruise starring)?

I wouldn't necessarily expect it to be as good as the second part if that is the case.

DL posters would say: " Mission Impossible" flops.

That was a great fucking movie. Cruise needs to cut out the filler. But it was a great summer movie. And the stunts were done really well - normally there’s more obvious cgi.

I watched it in the theater and enjoyed it. Highly recommend

China is not a reliable market for US movies anymore.

Hollywood will need to adjust to that.

The other day, Tom was rambling on about how the MI films are for the world, they're international films, not films merely for the USA.

And now he FLOPPED internationally!

Made about a quarter billion so far overall. It will need to make more so we shall see.

Why would anyone give a shit about how well this crappy movie does?

If this is the only thing holding Hollywood up, Hollywood deserves to fail.

But also: Movies. Hair, makeup, prosthetics, etc.

I KNOW, R26. I am caught up. But Tom still looks different in the movie than he does in real life. "Youthened". Asking if they facetune his face is a perfectly reasonable question because they do it a lot nowadays.

I really enjoyed it, and I have seen all the movies. It has maybe 15 minutes of dialogue and the other 2.5 hours are all action. Good job, Tammy Faye.

Yes, Real Tom looks different from "MI" Tom. But r27, why bother even wondering why or how? That's my real point. Just go with the "suspension of disbelief" and enjoy!
