I loved him in Bullet Train! He’s very charismatic. He was my favourite part of that movie. I’ll watch anything he’s in. Even this bizarro good-guy version of one of Spider-Man’s jerkiest villains.

What the studios are finding is that there's actually a very lucrative market for movies about super-powered anti-heroes. They got the first few wrong, with Deadpool's first appearance in WOLVERINE and the first appearance of Venom in SPIDER-MAN 3; these characters only work if they're given their own vehicles and are pitted against villains much more evil than they are so the audience can root for them while enjoying their bad-assery. DEADPOOL and DEADPOOL 2 were successes, and so were VENOM and (to a lesser extent) VENOM 2; DC, on the other hand, has not had much luck with their many attempts in the anti-hero subgenre (except for THE JOKER, if that counts): BLACK ADAM, the two SUICIDE SQUAD films, and BIRDS OF PREY were not very successful.

I have no interest in sadistic vengeance films (as I stated above) but I'll be curious to see if this one works. Taylor-Johnson is sexually attractive enough I can see women and gay men wanting to go, and unlike Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Tom Hardy as Venom, his face won't be obscured so viewers can feast upon it. On the other hand, I don't think he has nearly as much charisma as Reynolds and Hardy do, which is part of why their movies were successes. I also don't see still-obese Russell Crowe being much of a box office draw.

ATJ was actually really wonderful in 2011's "Albert Nobbs" as a young, hungry, morally ambivalent Irish Victorian hustler. He was an awful, selfish drunk, but also he was still a baby in many ways. He telegraphed the character's ego covering for fragile woundedness so well that you manage to feel both outrage and empathy for the character simultanously.

It's going to flop like every other Sony attempt at adapting Spider-Man characters.

The Kraven movie will not do much at the Box Office. Kraven is really a C-list antihero/villain, hardly enough to make a whole movie on. He was already Pietro in the Avengers but got killed. He was good in that Kick Ass franchise. He met is future wife when she directed him in the John Lennon bio pic Nowhere Boy. He married her when he was 22 and took the Taylor part of her name to be Aaron Taylor Johnson.

Well, that was more than true about Iron Man before the first RDJ movie. The only reason they made that was Marvel had sold alll it's more valuable assets.

Also, never underestimate the fanboys love for c-list antiheros. The first Tom Hardy Venom did $856mm although the second one only did $506mm, and the third did $472mm. We're used to seeing superhero movies making hundreds of millions, but the third movie had a budget of $120mm, so still made a lot more money than most movies do.

Iron man is and was always A-list. Even in the 60s he had his own cartoon, along with Thor, Spiderman, and the Hulk. All the way through the 90s Ironman has been a main character. Ironman and Tony Stark have been staples of the Avengers and many main storylines in the comics sans X-men. Hell even Venom is more of a main character than Kraven.

Spidey just has to get the buttplug into Kraven's ass and he'll turn into a good guy!
