De Niro is a bit of a cheap shot since all he did was get old. Most of the others listed got sloppy fat and seemed to stop caring. I’ll also give Val Kilmer a pass since a great deal of his physical decline is due to an illness.

I have an appreciation for actors such as Spader, who clearly couldn't give any Fs about his appearance, especially since he knows he's a good enough actor that he doesn't need to. In reality, Spader was never a leading man, he was usally the secondary male, so he was more reliant on his 'persona' when he was young, than just his looks in themselves, anyway. The looks fit the persona, but he's no longer playing the wealthy, cold, party boy.

Robert De Niro. Two word last name. Helen Kellers, above, you have paid as much attention to his looks as his name. His looks took a hit here and there but he is very far from the greatest fall in looks, from beauty to beast.

James Spader of today is sexy. There is a fun sparkle in his eyes. He seems intelligent and witty. He’s not ugly now. Just older. Still looks healthy and clean.

I agree with OP. When James Spader was young (I'm thinking Sex, Lies), he was such a pretty boy even I might have slept with him. I mean, hell -- I've slept with lesbians more butch than he is! And even on Boston Legal, he was still looking reasonably good. But when I saw him on Blacklist (which I have never actually watched), I'm sure I gasped aloud.

I was shocked at how grown up Spader looked in Supernova. He'd always been that pretty, preppy WASPY guy and kind of delicate looking. He definitely looked like a man finally.

Depardieu has an incredibly harsh background: both parents alcoholics, he's admitted to being a rent boy for a while. And of course he's a lifelong alcoholic, smoker and glutton. The only surprising thing is that he's alive at all, not that he looks like shit.
