Does this give credence to weird conspiracy theories that “the elite” and vague bad guys are trying to shift the Overton window so they can have sex with children? I’m not exactly sure what the theory or theories are, but I always figured (aside from other issues like the improbability of a pizza parlor - White House child trafficking ring) that it was impossible because there simply were not enough people out there interested in having sex with children.

He was not a conspiracy theorist and I don’t think he thought this was an organized thing, but he did seem to think there were some who wanted to move away from what some would call “traditional values” and towards “degeneracy” for this reason. He put it better and did not use the words I have in quotes and did have some odd ideas, but was often right. I also suspect he might have been abused as a child, so maybe his perspective on this particular issue was skewed rather than perceptive.
