newTumblr is NO MORE!

They had been on auto pilot for months. No surprised.

It was a cesspool of Nazis, scat and pedos. We'll miss it.

I don't know which one of the literally thousands possibly hundreds of thousands of other places could I ever go to to find pornographic content.

Started as an censorship free alternative to Tumblr when they banned porn 3-4 years ago. The original owners followed the almost identical Tumblr format. They started out well with a great responsive team lead by a guy named Dean. Over the years they could not attract advertising and it degenerated into an algorithm auto pilot operation. Over the last months hundreds of long standing non porn blogs were nuked without notice. To add insult to injury they actually blocked your IP address so restoration was not an option. newTumblr claimed it was due to "copyright" violations. Pretty much wiped out their legit blogs and left them with only porn. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Old Tumblr still has censorship if you show peen photos or even arse shot you blog comes with a MATURE CONTENT warning . Their algorithm is getting better in distinguishing between a statue by Praxiteles and a fisting snap.

newTumblr seemed suicidal in the last six months literally driving non porn blogs away. Glad I kept my Tumblr blog. Guess it's the only game in town once again.

r8 You can't search for stuff directly though as far as I can tell unless there's some sort of hidden setting I can't see. Typing in "gay porn" in the tumblr search bar just comes up with "Hold your horses! These search results are likely to contain content which does not comply with Tumblr's Community Guidelines. To help keep everyone safe we're not displaying any content here" and I have all my filters set to show me everything. The benefit to NT at least was I could directly search for stuff and find blogs that had similar content.

R11 You'd be surprised what these mega media corp will pay for even defunct web sites. Recall the media conglomerate that bought Tumble paid something like $1 BILLION dollars. They had no idea what to do with it. Tumblr lost half it's traffic when they banned the porn and they turned around and sold the remains to Verizon for chump change. Tumblr is only now getting back on track.So who knows some shite for brains CEO may have paid millions for ratty old newTumblr.How the hell do these CEO's get away with these shit shows?

Tumblr at least had a death grip on fangirls at the time of the yahoo sale. New Tumblr until today mostly was a porn site where if you took the wrong turn you were likely to end up on an FBI watchlist.

Twitter is really the only easily assessable free (blue check exception) mass access for porn. Who knows how long that will last with an election year coming up.The thing about Twitter format is you either post hardcore porn or you have a non porn blog. Separate but not equal. With old Tumblr you could mix and match art, porn,politics,original content. It was the visual smorgasboard I enjoyed.

I suggest setting up accounts on Pillowfort and reviving or creating a new Tumblr account. Pillowfort is clumsy to navigate and it's still sort of in the beta-phase but it has plenty of potential for improvement and its creators actually welcome feedback. Pillowfort does not have grid style archive views like Newtumbl and Tumblr or support for video or GIF file uploads so for now that extremely limits its utility.

Tumblr as you have likely already heard now has 'maturity settings' that allow for sexually suggestive content as long as it is labelled correctly and not explicitly pornographic. That means no close-up shots of erect penises or ejaculation but I still see plenty of that in the feeds of Tumblr accounts I follow.

I say just go back to Tumblr. Still have my Tumblr blog of almost 10 years. 15K followers no porn. Nver been nuked. Have buddies from all over the world. Going to Stockholm next month to vist some of them. Tumblr revised their TOS several months ago to introduce 'Maturity Settings' which allows display of nudity under certain conditions. In any case you can still find plenty of adult content on Tumblr or stuff that is close enough to being called porn. Tumblr may not like to admit it but it's the "you know it when you see it" sort of thing. Tumblr still has the best user interface of any of its supposed "alternatives".

Tumblr's new rules are so vague and enforced so inconsistently. They have some imaginary line between "nude art" that is allowed and "pornography" that is not allowed. Only they know where that line is and if you cross it too many times you get nuked. But besides Elon's wacky Twitter guess Tumblr is the only game in town once again.

Twitter is dying and clearly filled with spam bots. I'm starting to believe the Dead Internet Theory. Tumblr has calmed down since it's original users of overly pretentious and neurotic middle class teens grew up. For artists and writers, it's still a great site.

Really infuriating that they pulled the plug with zero notice like that.

I had nearly 4000 followers there. I curated a good set of great pics, and got a lot of compliments.

Now there's just a void, where once there was rampant horniness.

Torrent site rarbg pulled the plug without a warning, too. I think it comes down to money. Porn has become much more difficult to monetize. Hosting porn sites has become ridiculously expensive, and not being able to get advertisements or credit card memberships going because anti porn activists badgering server hosting businesses and credit card companies has made porn no more profitable.

We may love porn, but few are willing to pay for it. Leaving us with tons of bad porn that makes it difficult to find new good stuff. And then you have borderline monopolies like MindGeek that control the studio porn industry.

Ain't nobody got time for creating an account and signing in just to watch free porn.

Tumblr became irrelevant the day it was sold to Yahoo under Marissa Mayer who destroys everything she touches. She ruined Tumblr and Yahoo, took the hundreds of millions of dollars in pay, and ran. Verizon knew better than to keep her on after the acquisition. She was given the keys to the C-suite because she is blonde, pretty, and went to Stanford. So? She was a terrible CEO who depleted the company coffers. Now she's worth $600M, $405M of which came from Yahoo.

If Succession was a more interesting show, they would've had a character meant to represent her and all the other terrible female CEOs (not that men are any better).

I miss the full-length video clips on newTumblr. There were lots of them, and many were really hot. Tumblr does seem to have any clips, and Twitter, for the most part, limits their clips to around 2 minutes, and many don't include the final cum scene.

I find most of the porn blogs I follow on twitter have slowed down the amount they post even compared to a few months ago presumably thanks to space Karens site changes. Yeah OF whores still post every 4 hours but most of the porn that isn't actually whores advertising has slowed to a trickle.
