My A/C is broken and it's currently 30.5 degrees in my house.

Will I die?

by Anonymousreply 49June 7, 2023 1:07 AM

Hopefully

by Anonymousreply 1June 3, 2023 6:42 PM

You're not nice, R1.

by Anonymousreply 2June 3, 2023 6:46 PM

Well you should take precautions. 32˚ and 40˚C can produce issue. Take cool showers. Wear a wet t-shirt. If you have a fridge and freezer you should be blowing air over cold bottle and bowls of ice.

by Anonymousreply 3June 3, 2023 6:47 PM

If a tramp like you bothers to wear panties, put them in the freezer overnight to chill your overheated pussy.

by Anonymousreply 4June 3, 2023 6:48 PM

30.5C is only 86 Fahrenheit. What are you worried about ?

by Anonymousreply 5June 3, 2023 6:52 PM

[quote]30.5 degrees

I want to strangle you.

by Anonymousreply 6June 3, 2023 6:55 PM

I usually keep my house at 24, R5.

by Anonymousreply 7June 3, 2023 9:03 PM

I smell grease fire.

by Anonymousreply 8June 3, 2023 9:43 PM

I fit's 30.5 degrees, you don't need an air conditioner, you need a heater.

by Anonymousreply 9June 3, 2023 9:45 PM

Op, is that 30.5 F or C. You forgot to mention it. If it’s C, you’re fuck.

by Anonymousreply 10June 3, 2023 9:45 PM

OP, you left yourself wide open.

by Anonymousreply 11June 3, 2023 9:58 PM

Give him a break, r11. He's airing "it" out.

by Anonymousreply 12June 3, 2023 10:03 PM

can I have your stuff??

by Anonymousreply 13June 3, 2023 10:06 PM

I just checked, now it's 32.

I'm mellllllting. Melllllting.

by Anonymousreply 14June 3, 2023 10:07 PM

30.5 degrees?

Hell!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 15June 3, 2023 10:07 PM

Everyone should have a small window-mounted air conditioner for just such an occasion (and a small quartz heater for such an event in the winter)...it won't cool/heat your whole place, but if you sit right in front of it, you can survive...and at least sleep...

by Anonymousreply 16June 3, 2023 10:08 PM

Yes, R16. That's a good idea. Wish I would have thought of it before.

by Anonymousreply 17June 3, 2023 10:10 PM

I think you should invite the OP over who kept his apartment 77-78 °F for his guest.

Switch the fan on, you pussy.

by Anonymousreply 19June 4, 2023 2:39 AM

Blocks of ice in front of a fan helps.

by Anonymousreply 20June 4, 2023 2:50 AM

When I lived in America, I cooled with a window unit air conditioner.

I always kept a spare. A new air conditioner still in the box ready to go in case the one I had in the window gave out.

by Anonymousreply 21June 4, 2023 2:55 AM

Is OP some dumb Canadian?

by Anonymousreply 22June 4, 2023 3:03 AM

Is this Celsius? Is OP’s air conditioner running non-stop like in “The Golden Girls” and he’s freezing to death?

by Anonymousreply 23June 4, 2023 3:05 AM

OP, you must not live in Palm Springs.

by Anonymousreply 24June 4, 2023 3:13 AM

How hard is it to put in a window air conditioner?

by Anonymousreply 25June 4, 2023 4:42 AM

It takes all of 15 minutes. It's dead simple.

by Anonymousreply 26June 4, 2023 4:50 AM

OP’s brain is also broken.

by Anonymousreply 27June 4, 2023 4:53 AM

Get used to it, that's what hell feels like, it's where you'll be going.

by Anonymousreply 28June 4, 2023 5:12 AM

Update, OP?

by Anonymousreply 29June 5, 2023 1:04 AM

I have COPD and 86 would be terrible for me. The warmest I can handle is 72. I usually keep my house temp around 69 all year around.

by Anonymousreply 30June 5, 2023 1:09 AM

Fingers crossed, OP.

You deserve it all!!!

by Anonymousreply 31June 5, 2023 1:14 AM

It's now 31, R29.

A/C is being fixed tomorrow, thankfully. For now I'm sitting in front of a fan and eating ice cream.

by Anonymousreply 32June 5, 2023 1:23 AM

I think only smaller window units work off a standard household electric outlet with perhaps a dedicated circuit.

Be sure to investigate because the wrong choice can be dangerous.

by Anonymousreply 33June 5, 2023 1:35 AM

What on earth would temps have to do with COPD?

by Anonymousreply 34June 5, 2023 1:37 AM

I have central air, R33.

by Anonymousreply 35June 5, 2023 1:37 AM

Is COPD the new fibromyalgia?

by Anonymousreply 36June 5, 2023 2:53 AM

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. COPD. Easier to breathe in cooler temps. Hot humid temps are difficult. People with lung disease struggle.

by Anonymousreply 37June 5, 2023 3:04 AM

Doncha have a fan?

by Anonymousreply 38June 5, 2023 3:14 AM

In my day, we endured so much more.

by Anonymousreply 39June 5, 2023 3:15 AM

[quote] For now I'm sitting in front of a fan and eating ice cream.

So just another weekend isn't it, OP?

by Anonymousreply 40June 5, 2023 3:30 AM

OP, it's not "broken" if the utility company shuts it down for non-payment.

by Anonymousreply 41June 5, 2023 3:31 AM

It's just the A/C itself, R41.

by Anonymousreply 42June 5, 2023 2:29 PM

You know, as an eldergay, I was thinking about my childhood at Granny's. We had no air conditioning back then. In fact Granny was one of the last hold out She still had a coal furnace. When I was a toddler I can remember going down stairs to watch Grandpa shovel coal into the furnace and the huge pile of coal in the coalbin when the coal man delivered it. Then she upgraded to an oil f urnace. I know. but no air conditioning ever. Just these huge floor fans.

by Anonymousreply 43June 6, 2023 8:49 PM

How old are you, R43?

by Anonymousreply 44June 6, 2023 9:37 PM

Where do you live that is 30°C? It's not US since you are using Celsius and we had rain and cold weather in most of Europe for the last few days. So..?

by Anonymousreply 45June 6, 2023 9:49 PM

It wasn't 30C where I live, R45, it was 36 with the humidity when my AC went on the fritz. Today it's cooled down to 32 and my ac was finally fixed yesterday!!

by Anonymousreply 46June 6, 2023 9:52 PM

The air conditioner at my job has been broken for the last week! It was supposed to be fixed on Friday, five fucking days ago, and it's still off.

The dress code has been thrown out for the duration.

by Anonymousreply 47June 7, 2023 12:18 AM

R47 - No AC at work? Isn't that against the law? My job would send us home to work.

by Anonymousreply 48June 7, 2023 12:47 AM
