Is Mental Illness an Autoimmune Condition?

While it is likely that only a subset of people diagnosed with schizophrenia and psychotic disorders have an underlying autoimmune condition, some doctors believe there are likely many more patients whose psychiatric conditions are caused or exacerbated by autoimmune issues.

With the level of mental illness on display around here, I thought this would get more traction. There may be new hope for a "small but significant number" of people with psychiatric disorders.

Traction will come when the trial results are released. Until then, this is on the level of the weekly cancer cure.
