Biden falls at U.S. Air Force Academy graduation ceremony

He's still the best candidate on offer. Biden/Harris 2024!

What the doctor told me about my mother when she experienced the large mental and physical decline that Biden has also, is that it is only going to get worse, and it did. People who are so blinded by their wishful thinking can’t accept that Biden is not going to get better and is not even going to stay the same. This is going to happen, that he will get worse and not slowly. We’re going to see more of these episodes in the coming year, depending how well the handlers can keep Biden from public view.

So by MAGAT logic:

A President who trips over a sandbag should not be President any more, but a former (I refuse to call that orange turd President) "occupant of the White House" incites a treasonous and seditionist insurrection, and MAGATS want him to have "four more years!"

They can go fuck themselves.

I'll take an infirm but competent President over a traitorous dictator PIG any day of the week.

I've said it once and I'll say it again: If FDR, with all of his maladies, could lead us through the Great Depression and all but the last month of the most devastating war the world has even known, Biden can lead us now.

And FDR could run rings around the current crop of Republican dirtball scumbags running for President, including morbidly obese pig fucker Trump and that one with the child bearing hips, Rhonda Santis, with or without her white go-go boots.

by Anonymousreply 27June 1, 2023 8:33 PM

What's going on is that Biden hasn't slowed down to accommodate his 80 years, that's all. I see it all the time in old people who are active. The think they have the reflexes of a young person.

Joe's fine, he sends his love.

Unlike Biden and his age-related decline in mental acuity, there was nothing wrong with FDR’s brain. His “malady” was physical.

by Anonymousreply 35June 1, 2023 8:46 PM

Instead of "falls" substitute "tripped" on a sandbag, which was black, same color as floor. So what.

Biden is OLD. He is very fit for his age, but old. His administration has accomplished much in the face of gop obstruction. I will vote for him again.

by Anonymousreply 36June 1, 2023 8:46 PM

R26, FDR had all his marbles. He just needed a seat. Biden is the oldest president we’ve ever had. Sadly, I don’t see anyone who could challenge and win the White House. The Right and the Left have shit choices. In a country as big as the US, Trump and Biden are the best they can find?! Come on now. I’ll vote Democrat in the election, but it will be a holding my nose type deal or a not a Republican-type vote. I just wish we had better choices and don’t tell me Marianne or Robert Kennedy. Barf.

by Anonymousreply 38June 1, 2023 8:48 PM

by Anonymousreply 39June 1, 2023 8:48 PM
Unlike Biden and his age-related decline in mental acuity, there was nothing wrong with FDR’s brain. His “malady” was physical.

There is zero evidence showing that Biden has had any decline in mental acuity. None. Speaking as someone who has a mother with advanced dementia, Biden does not show ANY signs of dementia either.

You also cannot know whether or not there was anything wrong with FDR's brain. All you have to go on are old newsreels and recordings of fireside chats.

I think so, r93. Call it a perk of working for the government. You get to retire two years earlier than non-government employees. And you can still keep the purchasing power benefit. That would incentivize more people to work for the government to replace the olds.

Abuse victims tend to view the bare minimum of human decency as grand gestures of love and kindness. In other words, they exaggerate basic shit after experiencing trauma. When their new person fucks up, as long as the fuck up doesn't hurt them as badly as their abusive ex, they overlook it. As a result, they become doormats with lowered expectations for relationships.

I feel like this is what a lot of Americans have turned into after 4 years of Trump. Just willing to accept anything as long as it's not Trump. Never mind the fact that "anyone but Trump" isn't exactly a tall order.

by Anonymousreply 104June 2, 2023 1:22 AM

Biden made other news with his speech. He claimed again that he was appointed to the Naval Academy. Last year, he claimed he was appointed in 1965, even though that was the year he graduated from college, not high school. This time he claimed he was appointed along with a certain classmate, but it appears the classmate did not attend the Academy. When he was VP, Biden's story was that he was "considered" for the Academy, not appointed. It will be interesting to see how the story will change again next year.

This country is, again, considering that same person to be allowed to swear a false oath of office on Inaugural Day.

But now, when it comes to Kamala Harris, all of a sudden, there are standards for performance that office that she doesn't meet.

r120, fuck off. Oh, and that's quite the trick, typing away to post here, while all the while your lips are planted on Trump's fat ass.

Biden will not win in 2024. All you idiots better come up with a different plan or El Cheeto will be back with a vengeance. The Dems can't even nail Trump. It's time to stop being pussies people. Please for the love of our country stop making this thing about trannies.

by Anonymousreply 134June 2, 2023 2:16 PM

r134 Biden will win. Politically he is killing it. People act like Trump is 20 years younger. He is four years younger, fatter and well..he is Trump. He tripped and fell, got back up and continued. So what.

by Anonymousreply 135June 2, 2023 2:27 PM

Biden doesn't stand a chance. Please don't think the polls are an indicator. No one wants Harris anywhere near the White House. If you vote for Biden, you deserve him.

by Anonymousreply 136June 2, 2023 2:30 PM

Speak for your deplorable self, r136.

I wouldn’t mind at all if she becomes President.

She would know damn good and well that she will not get the benefit of the “Just Wing It” slide Trump got, and she’d put in honest, hard, effective work and be secure enough to surround herself with the best help to do it.

White, Wealthy, Male privilege exists and the proof is that Trump isn’t in jail or, at least, unanimously shunned.

by Anonymousreply 137June 2, 2023 2:37 PM

Do you really think Trump has gained voters since he lost by a landslide in 2020? After trying to steal the election and remain in power with fake electors and The Big Lie? DELUSIONAL.

8 million votes is "barely"? A 74-Electoral College vote difference is "barely"?

I'll say it again: the Democrat has to win by a minimum of 10 percent, or the Republican steals the election. Thankfully, Biden won with more than 10%, and they [italic]still[/italic] tried to steal it.

Enough.

That’s an interesting spin. I read that inflation has brought people off the sidelines, because they have to start work again due to being unable to pay higher grocery prices and pay their higher bills.
they have to start work again due to being unable to pay higher grocery prices

I had to make my supermarket trek today. In the Kroger cereal aisle I noticed a damn box of Wheaties for $6.50. How much more basic can a cereal be than Wheaties.

I hate to imagine what it would have cost to raise my kids at current prices and how difficult it must be for younger families.
50 seems like a good age. 60 works. But 80? Not too sure.

Depends on the person. Aging doesn't work like it used to. My 78-year-old dad is going sailing this weekend on a sailboat he just got done refinishing. Look at all the film directors that age still writing and directing. OTOH I know people in their early 60s who can barely function. So, yes, some people in their 80s can work just fine.

by Anonymousreply 169June 2, 2023 9:10 PM

I don't plan on "packing it in" and heading to the nursing home just to sit on my ass and in my own feces at 60 unless fate steps in and takes me out. Olds can and are a vital part of life and society in their elder years; I plan on being one of them! If some want to retire from everything at the dawn of their sixth decade to sit and do nothing but reminisce, that's fine.

Not everyone is the same and you shouldn't expect us to be.

There are definitely plenty of people who are very old and who function extremely. Let's not be anecdotal though. The vast majority of people 80 and up have no business running for President. Perhaps Biden is one of the outliers. History will be the judge of that.

by Anonymousreply 176June 3, 2023 7:19 PM

Old people having to unretire to make ends meet is nothing to brag about.

by Anonymousreply 177June 3, 2023 7:20 PM

History will be the judge of that.

The voters will judge first, and across the political spectrum seem pretty clear on their opinion

the poll, conducted by ABC News and The Washington Post, found that 68 percent of respondents, just over two-thirds, said that Biden was too old to serve a second term as president.

The former senator and vice president was 78 years old when he was sworn in as president in January 2021, making him the oldest individual to hold the office in American history. By the end of a potential second term, he would be 86.

Concerns about Biden's age, mental fitness for office, and general well-being have dogged him since he was elected. Despite numerous stand-out achievements, including the passage of sizeable bipartisan bills and a historically strong performance for his party in last year's midterm election, his approval ratings have sagged, and the new ABC/Washington Post poll showed just 36 percent of respondents approved of his performance as president.

The sandbag struck before too.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — The motive behind a sandbag's sudden attack on President Joe Biden became more clear today, as sources within the federal government have produced photos showing the sandbag also participated in the U.S. Capitol riot on January 6, 2021.

"This sandbag has been a dangerous entity for some time," said one source under the condition of anonymity. "After reviewing video footage from the January 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol, we discovered the sandbag among the other Trump-supporting domestic terrorists. The sandbag has evaded justice since that day, giving it the opportunity to trip President Biden at the Air Force commencement ceremony."

As officials continued to dig into the sandbag's past, further red flags were raised. "We have also found a lengthy manifesto written by the sandbag," the source said. "We will not be releasing the manifesto to the public due to the potential damage it could cause to our democracy, but it's really bad. Just trust us, we're the government."

Though unharmed in the tripping incident, President Biden has privately vowed to bring the full weight of the federal government behind his crusade to hunt down other sandbags. Additional reports seem to have indicated the sand inside the bag was white, raising concerns about ties to white supremacist organizations.

"This attack on our national security will not be tolerated," a White House press release read. "This sandbag, and others like it, are a serious and frightening threat."

At publishing time, the Biden administration had asked the intelligence community to look into possible ties the sandbag may have had to the Russian government.

It's not a big deal. The fucking Nazi right wingers pretend it's a big deal but they're all losers who have nothing else to talk about. Oh, they can complain about how 0.6% of the population is Trans, that's... uhm... something?

The Republican Nazis are going to lose big again in 2024 and there is nothing that will save them from this. No doubt we will be the recipients of more meaningless faux-rage about a great many unimportant things between now and election day.

Repubs know that their base has no facility for critical thinking or reasoning. They long to be part of a hive mind. So anything they say -- no matter how dumb, contradictory or implausible -- will be believed and touted by the Repub base as if it was etched in stone by Moses.

P.S. Most of the republican base believes that Moses was a general in the confederate army.
