HR closed a training loophole, and I'm partly to blame
We have that shitty training where you watch some dumb generic videos that talk about "our company" but never actually name our company. Then you take a test.
For years, I have used the hearing-impaired version, because you could go through the training much faster. And for years, I have been talked to by HR about my time spent in the courses being too short even though I passed all the tests the first time. HR would say that we may have to change it in the future if people like me didn't spend more time on a screen before moving on. And the inevitable response to my "but I passed the training each time" was "but did you actually learn it in a thoughtful way?" or some such nonsense.
This year, HR forced the length of the hearing-impaired version to match the regular audio and video version. No more fast training.

Cheaters never win and winners never cheat, or some bullshit like that.

Nah, you're overreacting. Someone probably filed a complaint or lawsuit mentioning this and the lawyers told them to fix it.

I’m so glad that I’m old & don’t have a job.

That's hilarious! Assuming you're not hearing impaired though?
I recently did a training course which had loads of videos, I turned the playback speed up to get through them quicker

Devastating, OP. However will you carry on?

I have faced this problem too, OP. I hate watching videos and always opt to read the close captions or transcript. My company made that change last year as well. It's really annoying.

You could have appeased them by writing a short paragraph summarising all you "learned".
Why do they make you do the same training about the company over again, do they think people forget where they work?

Can’t you just go straight to the test? That’s what we do on all our mandatory training modules.

HR apparently thought using the hearing impaired version was tone deaf of you

It’s always “our company” til they need to eradicate our department.

Why are they monitoring how long it takes to complete the training? That seems like needless waste of work time.

OP isn’t that literal violence towards the deaf community.

HR is scam. They work for the company against the employees.

Last time I worked in an office I had my temp sit those 'remote learning' video tests for the team. A couple of the other managers knew; nobody cared.

OP, next week I give my notice on my intent to resign and retire. No more stupid, bullshit training!!!

What's next? "I did my groceries while WFH! Now my company wants us back 3x a week!"
IT'S ALL MY FAULT!!!
