Zzzzzzzz...

Is this why Netflix is sitting on the Leonard Bernstein biopic with Bradley Cooper as Lenny and Matt Bomer as his lover?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 25, 2023 3:31 PM |
I think they’ll launch that at Venice or Toronto in September.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 25, 2023 3:35 PM |
Love Bomer

Nice that they are going for it in the sex scenes!

From the article:
[quote](Both Bailey and Bomer identify as gay.)
No, dumbass. They don't [italic]identify as[/italic] gay. They [italic]are[/italic] gay.

For a moment I thought he was carrying a squid.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 25, 2023 3:55 PM |
Squid game
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 25, 2023 4:15 PM |
Trans women ARE women, but gay people can only identify as such!

Like a Duckling to water...

Can't wait to jack off to all the sex scenes

Ron Nyswaner didn't exactly do a bang-up job adapting MY POLICEMAN to the screen, but he may do better with this one as the novel has more of a linear structure. But this is no WHEN WE RISE material - just more "heartbreak of closeted gay romance".
The character of Hawkins Fuller (the Matt Bomer role) makes an appearance in Thomas Mallon's latest novel about the closeted gay actor Dick Kallman UP WITH THE SUN.

The resulting sex scenes, capturing a range of role plays, will ring as highly authentic to gay men, and mark uncharted territory for mainstream dramatic TV—even on a network like Showtime. “Not that it will be shocking to people, but I hope when people watch it, they’re like, ‘Oh, wow. They really went for it,’” Rogers says. The production made intimacy coordinators available to the cast throughout filming, and Bomer and Bailey felt an intrinsic trust with each other, rooted in that Cumberland Street pact. “I will be so interested to see how people respond to it,” Bailey says. “To me, being queer also is about, as two men, how you negotiate your giving of your body to the other person. That is something that I’ve always yearned to see properly done because I know how extraordinary it is to experience it.”

R14 it’s like they forgot Showtime aired Queer as Folk two decades ago. The writer is probably a 22 year old nepo baby.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 27, 2023 10:50 PM |
Yes I wonder how it will be “highly authentic” to gay men?
Will we see some hemorrhoids? Shitting the bed?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 27, 2023 10:57 PM |
Isn’t there a bit of an age difference there?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 27, 2023 11:01 PM |
The age difference in the book was 7 years, these two actors are a decade apart.

R16 Are you a troll?
Or just one of those DLers who must trash positive depictions of gay sexuality: No suicide, no angst, no regret, no sadness, but passion and giving and receiving with eyes wide open and in joy.
We're not all bitter and cynical.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 27, 2023 11:24 PM |
R19 you clearly haven’t read the book which is sopping wet with Irish Catholic guilt
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 27, 2023 11:27 PM |
R17, I think Bomer is only 10-12 years older than Bailey. They're not exactly in "David Geffen and his husband" territory
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 27, 2023 11:38 PM |
MY POLICEMAN just didn't have a strong plot, and the stunt casting of Harry Styles didn't help much.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 27, 2023 11:41 PM |
[quote]how you negotiate your giving of your body to the other person.
Somehow I thought this was involved in sex irrespective of who's participating. Silly me.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 27, 2023 11:41 PM |
As if two gay actors need an "intimacy coordinator".
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 27, 2023 11:42 PM |
R19 good lord - lighten up!
I’m absolutely looking forward to the show, I think Bomer is great in everything he does, I’ll be watching it with bells on.
Can you not handle a stupid joke about hemorroides?
MARY!

R22 Robbie Rogers, who is Greg Berlanti’s trophy husband, is just not a good producer.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 27, 2023 11:49 PM |
A show with sex scenes? Groundbreaking.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 28, 2023 12:26 AM |
When will this air?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 28, 2023 1:29 AM |
Fall
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 28, 2023 1:34 AM |
R28, it said in the fall but no specific date
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 28, 2023 1:39 AM |
The teaser trailer is out
I will say the actors… look their age (44 and 34). The characters are supposed to be 28 and 21 during the McCarthy era. I would hope they are going to age them up, but then that would call into question why the characters don’t appear to age over the next thirty years.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 1, 2023 6:21 PM |
I'm 34 but I can pass for 21
by Anonymous | reply 32 | June 1, 2023 6:31 PM |
r31 Looks awesome. But how did you come across that video? It shows as having been released two weeks ago, but is unlisted, so only available to select few.
I have no problem suspending disbelief when it comes to age in movies and TV shows, so that part isn't an issue for me at all. I'm sure DL -- by and large -- will treat it as an unforgivable sin on the showrunner's part, however.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | June 1, 2023 6:32 PM |
R26 well happy fucking pride to you too!
by Anonymous | reply 34 | June 1, 2023 6:33 PM |
It was just promoted on social media about an hour ago. They uploaded it two weeks ago but had it unlisted.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | June 1, 2023 6:37 PM |
I see, yeah I forgot that was standard practice.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | June 1, 2023 6:39 PM |
r16 r25 A joke should be funny. Hemorrhoids and shitting the bed? Not even one "ha."
- not r19
