Lee Remick is the underrated tragic actress.

Her filmography is incredible: A Face in the Crowd, The Long Hot Summer, Anatomy of a Murder, Days of Wine and Roses, No Way to Treat a Lady, Hennessy, The Omen, The Medusa Touch, The Europeans, and Tribute.

And she tragically passed away at the young age of 55.

There isn't a soul in this world more tragic than Frances McDormand. In every way possible.

Seriously OP? Are you 15 years old? You left out almost all the great actresses of the early and mid-twentieth century?

Perhaps your headline should be, Who is the Great American Tragic Actress that I, a mere simpleton, have heard of.

The fact that you were excluded lends great weight to its legitimacy.
