Lately. I’ve been seeing a lot of internet ads for On Running Shoes. I’m a Nike bro, but I’m open to trying new sneaker brands. On seems stylish and wellmade. Anyone, have these shoes?
Stylish? It's hideous.

Love it. Very masculine, athletic, and can be worn at work

REI is running their annual sale right now and carries On shoes (one regular priced item is 20% off). Personally I like their designs but find their stuff overpriced (I own a bunch of their running gear)

Are they comfortable?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 20, 2023 8:21 PM |
Aren't they owned by Roger Federer?

Started wearing On a couple of years ago and would not wear anything else. Unbelievably comfortable and the Cloudmonster style improved my running times. Fantastic shoes

Very stylish

According to The Trend Spotter, these are the most on-trend athletic footwear brands of the moment:
Nike Adidas New Balance Asics Reebok Hoka One One Puma On Running Altra Footwear Brooks Sports Pipecandy shows that Nike’s total share of the market in the U.S is 56%, making them a huge player, especially with their monopoly over Jordan's and Converse.

I think it looks nice, and I probably can't afford it.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 20, 2023 8:28 PM |
I like the ones in the OP. R3 sums it up well.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 20, 2023 8:29 PM |
Don’t get anything that doesn’t fit or feel comfortable. Seriously.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 20, 2023 8:30 PM |
Altra is great
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 20, 2023 8:31 PM |
By what factor do they improve sneaking? I’m looking for more stealth in my footwear.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 20, 2023 8:31 PM |
R14 I love mine. Podiatrist also recommended New Balance but the Altras feel the best.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 20, 2023 8:32 PM |
How about Allbirds?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 20, 2023 8:33 PM |
What's your first language, OP? Curious syntax.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 20, 2023 8:34 PM |
Those are great, r19...if you're a Disney character.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 20, 2023 8:41 PM |
Wow

I can't believe Adidas paid Kanye to "design" those atrocities.

I see lots of Hoka on the streets. looks terrible.
I prefer Nike. I wear the Pegasus, so fucking comfy. I will never wear anything else. they always go on sale.

The reviews on them are MEH. I almost purchased a pair of the Loewe/On high tops. Great looking sneaker, but I guess they are not that comfortable.
I am sticking with my y-3's
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 20, 2023 9:04 PM |
Aesthetically I loathe Hoka - they look like a soccer mom shoe.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 20, 2023 9:14 PM |
I have a couple of pairs and really like them. Very comfortable.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 20, 2023 9:17 PM |
I wore Ons for a few years. Great at minimizing impact on my feet and knees (I wore them marathon training)
BUT: expensive, slippery on wet pavement, and when they got wet the little “pockets” would loudly squeak with every step
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 20, 2023 9:17 PM |
Allbirds look terrible. Don’t.

Despite being a Portland native where Nike reigns supreme, I always preferred the look of Adidas sneakers and still do. I had a several pairs of their green suede Sambas growing up that I absolutely loved. I played soccer as a kid/teenager and always wore Adidas cleats. I recently bought a pair of the green/white Stan Smiths, and they're incredibly comfortable casual shoes with a timeless look.

That’s a handsome shoe

OC have a cult following where I live. Very upscale Lululemon crowd favorites - I’ll get crap for saying this but very white people sneakers. I have had three pairs - my only complaint is that the sone flattens and wears out.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 20, 2023 11:48 PM |
The OP sneakers are pretty hip and urban. I like em
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 20, 2023 11:55 PM |
Iga Swiatek also signed with On and is supposed to be wearing their shoes. She caused a bit of a stir when she decided to continue to wear Asics in a recent tournament.

Nike hasn't been good value in decades.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 22, 2023 3:57 PM |
This has to be one of the most confounding logos I've ever seen. For years I could never figure out what it was. The O looks like half a lower-case g and being over the N is even more confusing.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 22, 2023 4:34 PM |
I was looking to expand from my usual Nike. I tried On and they didn’t fit well. They are very white suburban mom and dad. I went with Hoka. Not the nicest, but they are comfortable.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 22, 2023 11:12 PM |
Hoka?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | May 22, 2023 11:14 PM |
R17 they suck
by Anonymous | reply 47 | May 22, 2023 11:14 PM |
Yeah, none of the no Nike, nonAdidas brands have been able to capture the hip, urban swag and athletic look of Nike. The other brands look very bland and neutered, like something a librarian, granola dad, or accountant wears.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | May 22, 2023 11:16 PM |
Stop the Nike troll! Fuck!
by Anonymous | reply 49 | May 22, 2023 11:18 PM |
Nike doesn't need a troll. It remains a juggernaut in the athletic sales market, with nearly 60% of the US Athletic footwear market.
