Texas Jack Junior (1860-1905)

Just saw a picture of this guy and thought he was the most beautiful man I've ever seen. What do you all think?

by Anonymousreply 4May 20, 2023 2:32 AM

I think that he probably stunk to high hell.

by Anonymousreply 5May 20, 2023 2:32 AM

Too-soft features with a tiny baby mouth.

Thankee kindly, my good sirs...but HARD pass.

by Anonymousreply 16May 20, 2023 5:29 AM

Looks like either he or Wild Bill Hikcock invented the mullet

by Anonymousreply 17May 20, 2023 5:31 AM

[quote] Texas Jack took the children to a Fort Worth orphanage where he sold the ponies and generously offered to fund their education.

That’s generous, I suppose, but does it really cost that much to educate a pony?

by Anonymousreply 18May 20, 2023 5:31 AM

r18 Neigh.

by Anonymousreply 19May 20, 2023 5:59 AM

He looks a little like Alec Baldwin to me.

by Anonymousreply 20May 20, 2023 6:02 AM

Too much like Owen or Luke Wilson for my taste. But he does have nice big blue (?) eyes.

by Anonymousreply 21May 20, 2023 6:21 AM

Looks a little like RFK Jr. to me.

by Anonymousreply 25May 20, 2023 9:42 AM

OP, no one believes he's the handsomest guy you've ever seen. No doubt you've used that phrasing a dozen or more times in your life. You're a slut.

by Anonymousreply 26May 20, 2023 10:02 AM

Incidentally, I've always thought the real Almanzo Wilder of LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE fame was a dreamboat.

Ten years ago, they could've cast Armie Hammer in a remake or something.

by Anonymousreply 29May 20, 2023 11:15 AM

by Anonymousreply 30May 20, 2023 11:43 AM

Looks like a non-binary trans

by Anonymousreply 31May 20, 2023 12:21 PM

Before or after he died?

by Anonymousreply 33May 20, 2023 1:19 PM

R12, start a thread about him then. Or are you trying to make a point of some kind?

And be sure to note how Morton, lovely but with bad teeth and a horrible, arrogant personality, turned so many people off most of his peers skipped his funeral, Mercer Ellington being an exception. But Mercer's father, Duke, was in town and didn't attend.

by Anonymousreply 34May 20, 2023 2:28 PM

Wow much improved but less pretty at R32. How did Englishmen end up with the name Omohundro? I guess it's old French - English mix. Strange name.

by Anonymousreply 39May 20, 2023 4:24 PM

R38, that he had/has a mistress, shows many women have no standards.

by Anonymousreply 40May 20, 2023 4:29 PM

He was a drag queen look at those luxurious flowing locks.

by Anonymousreply 41May 20, 2023 4:35 PM

very cute

by Anonymousreply 42May 20, 2023 4:41 PM

Why did he look ethnic, Hindu ethnic, to be exact?

You can millions of men who look like this in shithole India, OP. But their dongs stink, though.

by Anonymousreply 43May 20, 2023 4:51 PM

He went from being a very pretty youth to being just a meh looking man - I’d only fuck the young-dead version.

by Anonymousreply 44May 20, 2023 4:53 PM

R23, Nice collection of photos. Surprised to see so many men with long hair in the late 1800s, given how much backlash they got in the 1960s.

by Anonymousreply 45May 20, 2023 4:55 PM

That’s because the guys from the 1960s were actual men, unlike the trans from the 1800s. Look at his long curls, sunhat and scarf.

by Anonymousreply 46May 20, 2023 5:08 PM

R45 I think 'cause it had been several decades and generations since long hair on men was deemed 'respectable.'

In the U.S., long hair and whiskers/facial hair became fashionable for men during the Civil War (1861-1865) and for some time afterward.

That started to change in the 1910s.

By the 1920s, most men were short-haired (i.e., slicked back) and clean-shaven until the mid-1960s.

by Anonymousreply 47May 20, 2023 5:24 PM

He was low-key trans. Good for him.

by Anonymousreply 48May 20, 2023 5:37 PM

Upperclass boys traditionally wore dresses and had long hair until “breeching” at around age 6 through the end of the Victorian era. In the 20s pink was still widely considered a boy’s color, and blue was for girls.

Things change R45

When first published in the color Sunday comics c.1904 Buster Brow’s Fauntleroy suit was always pink.

[quote]Upperclass boys traditionally wore dresses and had long hair until “breeching” at around age 6 through the end of the Victorian era.

And through the Edwardian (1901-1914). After I watched James Cameron's movie many years ago, I researched the TITANIC and the customs of the time. They were still doing that and the following in 1912:

- After they were breeched, young boys wore short pants until they came of age (around 15) and then graduated to long pants.

- Similarly, young girls wore knee-length dresses and their long hair down until they came of age (around 15) and then graduated to long skirts and corsets and wore their hair up.

All that changed in the 1910s, post-WWI.

The Great War!

by Anonymousreply 53May 20, 2023 6:33 PM

Short pants or knickers for boys were common into the 50s - and for formal occasions little boys still sometimes wear JFK Jr suits with short pants.

Yes, but after WWI, young boys were not forced to wear just knickers until they grew up.

by Anonymousreply 57May 20, 2023 6:50 PM

He could be wearing a wig.

by Anonymousreply 58May 20, 2023 6:53 PM

Nope.

by Anonymousreply 59May 20, 2023 6:54 PM
