R1- Who was scarier?
The Wicked Witch Of The West in The Wizard Of Oz (1939) or the Child Catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

I was TERRIFIED of this homo as a child. R2 second runner up for me wasn't the Wicked Witch but the flying monkeys. For some reason they were scarier to me!

A severely underrated musical!
I can still make my siblings laugh with my Child Catcher impression fresh from seeing the movie in its original release!

Flying monkeys for me too

I agree the Flying monkeys in the Wizard Of Oz were deliciously creepy.

I too agree with the flying monkeys. They’re the main reason I haven’t watched The Wizard of Oz since childhood.

I must be weird. I've loved everything about the Haunted Forest segment of "The Wizard of Oz" since childhood. The Wicked Witch, the castle, the Winkie Guards (it helps if you know there were studly college football players under the costumes and makeup) and yes, the Flying Monkeys. Instead of scary, I found it all fun and exciting. It was the Munchkins who got on my nerves. "Oh shut the fuck up and get on with it!"
