Scott Baio announced he’s leaving Hollywood and California behind.

The homelessness is out of control and he blames liberals and is done with it.

[quote]The homelessness is out of control and he blames liberals and is done with it.

That and he can live off whatever he makes from the sale in a state like Idaho...

by Anonymousreply 1May 6, 2023 2:16 PM

Into further obscurity

by Anonymousreply 2May 6, 2023 2:18 PM

Idaho has beautiful parts.

by Anonymousreply 3May 6, 2023 2:20 PM

Hollywood left him behind a long time ago!

by Anonymousreply 4May 6, 2023 2:24 PM

These guys always come back - they're just grifting. Now he can go on 500 right wing podcasts to rant all the same tired talking points about this shit. He is irrelevant and broke.

by Anonymousreply 5May 6, 2023 2:30 PM

Or running for office in an area he knows he can win. Look at that picture.

by Anonymousreply 6May 6, 2023 2:36 PM

Florida welcomes him!

by Anonymousreply 7May 6, 2023 2:38 PM

Horrible person. Buh-bye.

by Anonymousreply 8May 6, 2023 2:38 PM

However will Californians and Hollywood deal with the loss?

[quote]Scott Baio announced he’s leaving Hollywood and California behind

Who?

by Anonymousreply 10May 6, 2023 2:42 PM

The woman next to him is pretty in an android/stepford wife way. Is it Nicole Kidman?

by Anonymousreply 11May 6, 2023 2:55 PM

I'm surprised he still has any money left. He married such a disgusting woman

He's right about the homeless situation in Los Angeles. I've never seen anything like it.

by Anonymousreply 13May 6, 2023 3:07 PM

R13 San Francisco also has it bad.

by Anonymousreply 14May 6, 2023 3:08 PM

The homelessness in NY and Vegas is terrible too

by Anonymousreply 15May 6, 2023 3:08 PM

Visit Portland

by Anonymousreply 16May 6, 2023 3:09 PM

Who cares, Scott. Move your rock to Idaho and then crawl back under it. Buy-bye.

by Anonymousreply 17May 6, 2023 3:23 PM

San Francisco is absolutely terrifying. I haven’t been to Vegas, LA in two years so I don’t know how they compare. Family just got back from Portland and they were horrified.

by Anonymousreply 18May 6, 2023 3:23 PM

Crying as I type.

by Anonymousreply 19May 6, 2023 3:26 PM

Later, Chachi.

by Anonymousreply 20May 6, 2023 3:27 PM

It must be a Charles In Charge” reunion because that’s Willie Aames on the far right, and the woman is Josie Davis who played Sarah on the show.

Look all the way to the right in OP’s pic. Is that Josh Brolin in a red wig and glasses playing some kind of bizarre “granny”part? Freaky….

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 22May 6, 2023 3:30 PM

A bit OT but when a tiny starter home is at least 500K, homelessness increasing is pretty much guaranteed. I don’t know the answer, and I’ll bet Scott Baio knows even less. This has been going on since the economic crisis of 2008 finished.

by Anonymousreply 23May 6, 2023 3:31 PM

[quote]Look all the way to the right in OP’s pic. Is that Josh Brolin in a red wig and glasses playing some kind of bizarre “granny”part? Freaky….

See R21. It’s a bald Willie Aames. The “red wig” is just an odd shadow.

by Anonymousreply 24May 6, 2023 3:33 PM

The city of Portland gives out free tents to homeless.

by Anonymousreply 25May 6, 2023 3:33 PM

All cities are seeing a homelessness problem but it’s really bad in certain ones. I heard Portland is bad now too. Vegas strip is getting scary

by Anonymousreply 26May 6, 2023 3:33 PM

I just saw a listing for a 1 bedroom condo in NYC for $225K. It's in Queens, but only 5 minutes from the subway. All these people that can't afford $500K starter homes can just move to Queens, because we have plenty of apartments available at reasonable prices.

by Anonymousreply 27May 6, 2023 3:47 PM

R27 lmao no.

by Anonymousreply 28May 6, 2023 3:48 PM

Who?

by Anonymousreply 29May 6, 2023 4:11 PM

[quote][R27] lmao no.

Fine. Then don't ever complain about homelessness ever again, when real, affordable solutions are available.

by Anonymousreply 30May 6, 2023 4:15 PM

[quote]San Francisco is absolutely terrifying.

SHRIEK!!!

by Anonymousreply 31May 6, 2023 4:22 PM

$225k for a tiny one bedroom isn’t a great deal. People have been conditioned to think that’s a good deal when it isn’t. I’m looking it up now and A. It’s very few apartments at that price and B. They’re TINY.

And what does a $225k apartment have to do with homelessness? You think a homeless person can afford that? Most working people can’t.

by Anonymousreply 32May 6, 2023 4:23 PM

Even $250,000 is difficult for the average person. 10% down means $25,000. Who has that in savings, a few years after college?

by Anonymousreply 33May 6, 2023 4:25 PM

Oh, that's too bad.

He'll truly be missed.

by Anonymousreply 34May 6, 2023 4:28 PM

How will Hollywood recover?

by Anonymousreply 35May 6, 2023 4:29 PM

Leaving California is grifting? How does that work, exactly

by Anonymousreply 36May 6, 2023 4:32 PM

[quote] The homelessness is out of control and he blames liberals and is done with it.

That’s code for “It’s not my responsibility to help those in need. I’m sick of looking at them. Not that kind of Christian. I’m outta here.”

by Anonymousreply 37May 6, 2023 4:40 PM

Portland has activists running around town setting up empty tents for the homeless to move into. Multnomah County has given out 20,000 free tents for our newly arrived mentally-Ill drug-addled zombies in the past few years. There's a new tent agglomeration metastasizing on my street this week, a huge pile of trash and stolen bike parts clumped up around it.

by Anonymousreply 39May 6, 2023 4:42 PM

by Anonymousreply 40May 6, 2023 4:45 PM

Joni is dead.

by Anonymousreply 41May 6, 2023 4:46 PM

Bye Bitch!

by Anonymousreply 42May 6, 2023 4:46 PM

He's right. Every city with homeless, financial, and crime problems are run by Liberals. NYC mayor Eric Adams complains migrants are being sent to cities run by blacks. So sad, too bad, Eric. Blame Sanctuary cities, created by Democrats.

by Anonymousreply 43May 6, 2023 4:49 PM

I think it's sad that he actually thinks anybody gives a shit.

by Anonymousreply 44May 6, 2023 4:50 PM

Run by blacks? R43 where did he say this?

by Anonymousreply 45May 6, 2023 4:50 PM

Drive-by troll post, r43?

by Anonymousreply 48May 6, 2023 4:53 PM

Oh FFS R43, most cities are run by liberals. Further, there's several reasons why the homeless problem is highly skewed to the West Coast: the weather, generous (comparatively) benefits, and red states across the nation buy one-way bus tickets as their solution.

But nice conflation of sanctuary cities with homelessness. You deserve the Frank Luntz award for most disingenuous comment of the day!

by Anonymousreply 49May 6, 2023 4:56 PM

FIRST, Amber Turd and NOW Chachi!!!

OH, THE HU-MANATEE!!!

by Anonymousreply 50May 6, 2023 5:00 PM

First the writers strike and now this. Hollywood is having a rough week

by Anonymousreply 51May 6, 2023 5:01 PM

Get thy ass to Florida

by Anonymousreply 52May 6, 2023 5:05 PM

In fllyovdrstan, $225k gets you a house with a backyard, and neighbors who probably have savings accounts. And you can probably walk to businesses that aren’t just nail salons and liquor stores. Everyone’s fat though so DLers will fit right in.

by Anonymousreply 53May 6, 2023 5:09 PM

Flyoverstan*

by Anonymousreply 54May 6, 2023 5:09 PM

Upper class areas of “flyover” states usually don’t have many fat people.

by Anonymousreply 55May 6, 2023 5:11 PM

Hollywood is losing top names in its talent pool - yesterday it was Amber Heard, today its Scott Baio. Who will announce next ? Rumer Willis ? Todd Bridges ?

This is worst than the writer's strike !

by Anonymousreply 56May 6, 2023 5:13 PM

R47 you beat me to it in correcting R40 and R41 but you forgot to add "you fat whores!"

by Anonymousreply 57May 6, 2023 5:13 PM

Joanie is DEAD. Sorry for breaking the news to you this way.

Antonio Sabato Jr. also left Hollywood/California in 2020 I believe.

by Anonymousreply 58May 6, 2023 5:15 PM

[quote]Upper class areas of “flyover” states usually don’t have many fat people.

🙄

by Anonymousreply 59May 6, 2023 5:17 PM

This a plus for California.

But the homeless issue is out of control. They still don’t have any plan to remedy the situation.

by Anonymousreply 60May 6, 2023 5:18 PM

the average HOUSEHOLD doesn't even have 500 dollars in savings between everyone, let alone the average person having 25k to put down on a condo. affordable solutions my ass. the haves in this country are utterly delusional.

by Anonymousreply 61May 6, 2023 5:20 PM

R61 you are right. I know someone who makes great money and lives in a nice apartment in Manhattan and eats out every fucking meal and only at nice places that cost $$$. She won’t do an average place. Has to be nice where she is being served. She speaks of people who can’t afford her lifestyle as lazy and pathetic. Someone once mentioned something to her about the pizza place she likes is too expensive and she went on a rant about how they need to work harder etc. it’s not her fault they don’t work hard enough to afford the things she does. It rubbed me the wrong way because many of these people who can’t afford her lifestyle work very hard to get by. My mother is a teacher who busts her ass and deals with awful children and their awful parents all year long but can’t afford that lifestyle. That doesn’t mean she isn’t a hard worker etc.

I keep waiting for his old VH1 reality show to come bite him in the ass. He was so openly horrible. Racist, homophobic, sexist, abusive and gross. But i guess I was the only one who saw it

by Anonymousreply 65May 6, 2023 5:47 PM

I think he’s so far-off the radar that no one cares r65. If he ever becomes relevant again in a mainstream platform then people may actually look into things. Gen Z loves finding things. 🙄

by Anonymousreply 66May 6, 2023 5:49 PM

Wait, Scott Baio is still alive??

by Anonymousreply 67May 6, 2023 5:52 PM

R61 Can we retire the word 'delusional' from our vocabulary ? 'Delusional' and 'Deluded' no longer have any meaning since they are so overused the past few years - just like the word 'Amazing'. If something is not described as 'amazing' then it's described as 'delusional'. Neither word carries any weight any more in 2023.

by Anonymousreply 68May 6, 2023 5:58 PM

Awesome, r68.

by Anonymousreply 69May 6, 2023 6:00 PM

It's no wonder Nicole Eggert and Alex Polinsky didn't join Scott and Co. on that float or whatever they're on in the OP pic. They've both publicly taken Scott to task for his abusive, predatory and homophobic behavior on the set of Charles in Charge.

by Anonymousreply 70May 6, 2023 6:01 PM

I'm sad for what Scott Baio became, but when I was a wee gayling dear God was he hot. His cover shot on Dynamite Magazine stirred feelings in me that I did not understand.

by Anonymousreply 71May 6, 2023 6:06 PM

Charles in Charge was in the late 80s into early 90s. Everything and everyone was homophobic

by Anonymousreply 72May 6, 2023 6:06 PM

He signed his own death warrant at the RNC

by Anonymousreply 73May 6, 2023 6:07 PM

R62, is she a family member? Even people with money wouldn’t waste it on crap like that. She sounds incredibly tacky and transparent. A miserable shallow cunt.

by Anonymousreply 74May 6, 2023 6:16 PM

R74 she’s not family. Not a friend so much either as much as a mutual through others. She is very shallow, but i wouldn’t say is wasting money because she works “hard” and makes a lot so her money spent makes no difference to her.

There are a lot of people out there with that mentality, sadly.

by Anonymousreply 75May 6, 2023 6:18 PM

How WILL California cope?

by Anonymousreply 76May 6, 2023 6:44 PM

Somehow we will, r76...

by Anonymousreply 77May 6, 2023 6:46 PM

R65 I watched his reality show. Cured any last bit of old Chachi/Charles crush I had left in me from my childhood. He is repellent.

by Anonymousreply 78May 6, 2023 6:53 PM

Has anyone seen my upper lip?

by Anonymousreply 79May 6, 2023 7:06 PM

R62, I wish there were more people in the world like you.

In regard to Flyoverstan, that's my home, and it's certainly cheaper than NYC and other big cities, but you're still looking at 1100 a month for a studio or 1BR, which for most working people means roommates, who of course bring their own horrors. For middle-class people, especially singles, it's a high enough % of after-tax income to be pretty stressful. I'm talking no car, delayed health care, and home haircuts. (Okay. That last one isn't a big deal....)

In short, it's just tough everywhere. So little affordable housing; so many SCUMBAGS like Baio who refuse to see what the real problem is.

by Anonymousreply 80May 6, 2023 7:13 PM

R80 there was a girl on TikTok crying because it’s expensive everywhere. She lives in a small town in TX that has nothing, you have to travel to get to the closest Walmart etc. and they raised her rent for a 1BR to $1600. She didn’t know what she’s gonna do. She kept emphasizing she lives in the middle of NOTHING, like 2 hours outside of San Antonio and they were hiking rents even there.

by Anonymousreply 81May 6, 2023 7:24 PM

R71 Did you tell your priest, minister, rabbi, youth minister, YMCA cam counselor, gym teacher or any hunky elder about the feelings he stirred up in you ?

by Anonymousreply 82May 6, 2023 7:39 PM

If you think Portland and San Francisco are scary then you need to get out more. There are TONS of places in the US (including places in the red states) that are way more violent

by Anonymousreply 83May 6, 2023 7:44 PM

Has anyone been in downtown Austin lately? Huge, aggressive homeless problem.

by Anonymousreply 84May 6, 2023 7:45 PM

I’ll alert the mailman to forward all the script offers from Spielberg and Scorsese.

by Anonymousreply 85May 6, 2023 7:46 PM

R43, the red states are poorer and have more crime than the blue states. Take care of your own problems, hon. Maybe focus on those loose gun laws and the brain drain that's happening because doctors don't want to live in anti-choice states like Idaho

by Anonymousreply 86May 6, 2023 7:47 PM

r64 If the same word-for-word story were The New York Times, you'd demand a Noble prize for the reporter. The Post didn't "make up" his comments. His statement was seen on every New York television during his press conference

by Anonymousreply 87May 6, 2023 9:30 PM

He’s probably heading to the southern fried racist Christian networks. Podcasts etc.

by Anonymousreply 88May 6, 2023 9:49 PM

Is he also done with being a TWO BIT actor

by Anonymousreply 89May 6, 2023 9:51 PM

I'm sure there are plenty people in California who'll be happy to see the back of him.

by Anonymousreply 90May 6, 2023 9:55 PM

R90 I agree - he always had a cute ass.

by Anonymousreply 91May 6, 2023 9:59 PM

[quote]If the same word-for-word story were The New York Times, you'd demand a Noble prize for the reporter.

Oh bless your heart, r87.

by Anonymousreply 93May 6, 2023 11:05 PM

Here’s the thing: the affluent and middle class hate the homelessness problem.

Those same people fight affordable housing construction. NIMBY. And when they gentrify neighborhoods that were once working class, they’re creating more unhoused people.

by Anonymousreply 94May 6, 2023 11:10 PM

I’m sure everyone will be so sad to see him go

by Anonymousreply 95May 7, 2023 2:26 AM

R95.

by Anonymousreply 96May 7, 2023 2:26 AM

People looking for housing don't "gentrify" a neighborhood, the general economy, greater population, market forces and maybe landlords do that.

By the way, neighborhoods don't belong to people just because they're poor, or once lived there. Everyone wants to live in the nicest, safest place they can afford, and just because you used to live here decades ago for less, it doesn't mean it's yours or that anyone needs to ask your permission to live there now!

by Anonymousreply 97May 7, 2023 3:21 AM

Writers on strike, and now on top of this Hollywood will become bereft of this in-demand giant of an acting talent too? You're a cruel man, Scott.

by Anonymousreply 98May 7, 2023 3:28 AM

I thought he lives in Calabasas?

No homeless there. At least not in all the gated communities.

by Anonymousreply 99May 7, 2023 6:21 AM

100!

by Anonymousreply 100May 7, 2023 6:41 AM

This is what conservatives love to do. They brag about having to leave because an area is changing. “Yay, I get to live in Idaho now. That’ll own the libs!”

by Anonymousreply 101May 7, 2023 6:51 AM

I cant imagine the residual checks a month any more than USD $30.00........

by Anonymousreply 102May 7, 2023 6:52 AM

Blah blah blah. He’ll be back.

by Anonymousreply 103May 7, 2023 6:54 AM

[quote]Leaving California is grifting? How does that work, exactly

I think the poster above was saying that Baio will probably get a new right-wing gig complaining about California, Hollywood, liberals, the woke mob, etc.

by Anonymousreply 104May 7, 2023 9:02 AM

How generous of him! Maybe they can move a homeless person into his Hyde City studio apartment.

That he can't afford.

On his Charles in charge residuals.

by Anonymousreply 105May 7, 2023 9:15 AM

Truth be known, he's probably leaving because he can't afford LA anymore. I hope he has a lot of equity in his home there. If he's moving to Idaho he'll be in good company with all the racists who've fled there from LA. It's well known that Idaho is where all the racist cops from LA retire to.

by Anonymousreply 106May 7, 2023 9:43 AM

R93, is that the only thing your pea brain can come up with?

by Anonymousreply 107May 7, 2023 1:43 PM

He doesn't need to be anywhere near Hollywood. It's not like he has a career there.

by Anonymousreply 108May 7, 2023 2:14 PM

Who?

by Anonymousreply 109May 7, 2023 2:15 PM

"I'm leaving Hollywood!" "You're still alive?"

by Anonymousreply 110May 7, 2023 2:58 PM

Maybe he can move into Erin Moran's old trailer park.

by Anonymousreply 111May 7, 2023 3:05 PM

I think he had a smart uncle who helped him invest in real estate back when he actually made money.

by Anonymousreply 112May 7, 2023 3:07 PM

California weeps.

by Anonymousreply 114May 7, 2023 3:29 PM

A well-off husband and husband I know moved to Florida from New York because high taxes, Now they have to put up with DeSantis. From frying pan into the fire.

by Anonymousreply 115May 7, 2023 3:41 PM

[quote]the affluent and middle class hate the homelessness problem...Those same people fight affordable housing construction. NIMBY.

I saw a story a couple of days ago about a woman and her husband who got new remote jobs in Silicon Valley, sold their home and moved to Las Vegas. The wife was upset because the new job ended their remote-only policy and informed her that she had to be in the office 3 days a week, so she was flying back and forth. She then mentioned that the people who bought their house were suing them because they didn't disclose that a homeless shelter was being built next door and the value of the home declined by $200,000 the moment the shelter was announced. She didn't mention whether they knew the shelter project was in the works, but you have to wonder due to the timing of the sale/move and announcement; it's one of those things to which neighbors would be keenly attuned. Should the new owners suck it up? Or should the previous owners be forced to refund some of the purchase price?

by Anonymousreply 116May 7, 2023 4:29 PM
