If you were a fan of the CBS television show "Phyllis" or if you were a fan of the 'Halloween' movies, you will remember the actress Garn Stephens.
On PHYLLIS, the actress joined the series in Season 2, playing the secretary who sat next to Phyllis in the San Francisco's City Supervisor's office. They started off as rivals, but then warmed up to each other as the season went on. The city of San Francisco was rather nice then, when Phyllis lived there (1975-77). Phyllis loved to shop the Chinese marketplaces, ride the cable cars, and walk near the SF bridge. However, she couldn't make the warning bells on the cable cars play 'the gang's all here' or 'charm the crabs on fisherman's warf right out of their shells' or light the lamps of Chinatown just by walking in view'. (But she is credited for keeping crime levels down and attracting Nordstrom to open one of their first stores in the city).
In the movie 'HALLOWEEN 3: Season of the Witch', she played 'Marge'.
Garn Stephens passed away last month - either on April 10 or April 14 (there's a lot of confusion on which day she died). She was either 87 or she was 76 - there's confusion on her birthdate, as she was either born on April 9, 1936 or she was born on November 7, 1944.
Either way, she's dead to all of us.
