Let's out male celebs... who wore hair pieces throughout their career
Bald & Beautiful? I used to think hair pieces were obvious and that anyone could tell if a man donned one. Now I realize this is not always the case and that some male celebs may have worn them their entire career without anyone knowing? Seems exhausting if you ask me....
The ones I knew of were Charles Nelson Riley (because he always joked about it) and Liberace.
Baldness or a receding hair line is a lot more accepted nowadays, but do any stars of today wear a piece as well?

John Wayne. In a goof that slipped by the editor in North to Alaska during a brawl on the street he is hit in the face and the rug pops up momentarily.

William Shatner. Never knew it was a wig.

Fred Astaire was balding by the time he began his film career and never appeared on screen without some kind of hairpiece.

Fred Astaire was lucky.... a rug was easily able similate his natural hair which was very thin in 1919

Ray Milland had been a leading man for decades before he gave up the rug.
I wonder if he kept it on when he was screwing Grace Kelly.

With or without hair, Ray Milland up through the 1950s was a hot piece of ass…

The fact that his hair was blondish, straight, and wispy in the 1960s but dark, curly, and thick like an enormous Brillo pad from the late 70s onward didn't tip you off?
He may owe it his longevity though. If anything could stop the Grim Reaper's scythe, it would be that hairpiece!

Pat Boone.
As much as I loathe him and everything he stands for, this infamous clip where his wig flies off on live television is tough to watch.

I think, nowadays, more male actors are likely to opt for plugs over rugs, like Joel McHale. That said, I remember seeing Thomas Calabro from Melrose Place on the Wendy Williams show and he described how the hair and makeup folks made him a little hair yarmulke that they'd sew in for him to cover his bald spot so maybe it's more common than I think.

Maurice Benard on GH . Tyler Christopher from GH and DOOL .

[quote]Maurice Benard on GH
Don't think Maurice would have let a rug go as grey as he did for a while last year. It was terribly unflattering and he abandoned the idea after about a month and went back to dying his hair shoe polish black and only letting a tiny bit of grey show.

R19, you have to give Pat Boone credit for handling that so well.

Elon Musk. But I think he has plugs, not a rug

I was surprised to find out that Craig Ferguson wore one. Well, he might not. But I remember one guest bringing it up multiple times and Craig just glossing over it in a way that made me think it was true.
If it is a rug, it's magnificent.

I don't think so. Surprised that his piece wasn't glued down better than that, though. Agree that he handled it well. The audience went nuts when his piece flew off.

R52, it kind of makes sense, though. Look how dense the hair looks on Don Draper. Looks unnatural, esp. with the hairline recession.
