I hate to break it to Chrissy, but MarVista is releasing this movie, which means it's going straight to streaming (and not any of the decent networks). MarVista is where you go when it's too inconvenient to have showings of your film in the backyard.

Yes, it's weird. That scene where they're helping support her (obviously she must be able to walk no two twinks could hold up that behemoth alone) and the general feeling that PILLS! are her real problem when she weighs as much as a VW Beetle. Surreal. Like having Karen Carpenter as her thinnest play an alcoholic and having everyone pretend that's the real problem.

They call it "Stay Awake" because the 2 kids must stay awake lest their drunk mother goes to the toilet during the night and mistakenly goes to the son's bed and plops down on them.

I just finished watching this. It was alright. It’s more of a coming of age movie as it focuses on the two boys. It’s their story. Chrissy Metz is very much a supporting character here. The actors all do a great job. It’s just cliche.
