In the late 80s I once sat in on the tech rehearsal / presenter blocking run-thru for the Academy Awards at the Shrine. I remember watching Kevin Costner & Darryl Hannah up there and thinking, “extremely pretty but dull.” They were just there, and had no real presence as the director moved them around like two beautiful pieces of furniture.

I know it was just a crew rehearsal, with no audience - so there was no reason for them to “on;” but the next person to walk out on stage was Olivia de Havilland. She was a chubby old lady, but everything about her bearing radiated “Hollywood star.” You couldn’t take your eyes off her.

I think the gal who played The Bionic Woman is allegedly a really drip in true life. I saw her interviewed a long time ago and remember she had a really blank affect describing her vegetarianism, and how her son was allowed to have a French Fry occasionally as a treat. Graham Norton has a story about interviewing her and sensing that she participated only for the free travel to London to visit friends. I remember she was on a Sleep Number Mattress infomercial years ago, and didn’t modulate her voice or anything to make it sound ok. Just “blah” like Charlie Brown’s teacher.

Not technically a celebrity per she, but Justin Bieber’s mother was really solemn and distant with that pituitary dwarf on Bravo TV’s “Watch What Happens Live”. It was like watching a court deposition of an unwilling witness. Really bad.

I agree. He's a stunted overgrown frat boy. I can't help but wonder if he is in fact an alcoholic and developmentally arrested at the age he started drinking. When he was younger, incredibly handsome and looked great in a suit it was always so disappointing when he opened his mouth and started blathering juvenile nonsense. I kept hoping he would present as classy and refined but it never happened, his interior never matched his exterior. Now that he has aged like milk, his exterior and interior are both disappointing.

Years ago a DLer who had worked with him said his "pranks" were in fact mean spirited and not funny at all but had to be tolerated by subordinates. I believe this.
