The Holy Mountain (1973)

Any fans of this brilliant, strange, bold film by Alejandro Jodorowsky??

American Cinematheque will be holding a screening of this film (50 yrs after its release) in LA soon.

OP, I just started watching it yesterday!

So far, I love it. I like all types of avant garde/experimental films, and this one transfixed me! I'm going to return to it when I can watch it start to finish, all in one sitting.

This is always a fun film to expose new people to. It’d be amazing to see it on a large screen with an audience.

It definitely feels like it was inspired, at least aesthetically, by Parajanov's The Color of Pomegranates.

I really feel like subversive films peaked in the 1970s: The Devils, Salo, The Holy Mountain, Caligula, etc.

Is this another Lost Horizons?
