What did Suzanne Pleshette see in him? Sure, he was funny. But he was 16 years older than her and way beneath her looks-wise.
Tom Poston

He knew how to eat pussy!

Maybe she was with better-looking men and didn't like them personally? Anyway, despite a youthful fling, they only married when she was very old. Older women can't be that picky.

They made each other laugh and also apparently (from things Suzanne said) had a terrific sex life. That's pretty damn great.

That's a photo of Jack Nicholson, R3.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | March 31, 2023 3:44 PM |
R3 What does Jack Nicholson have to do with it?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | March 31, 2023 3:52 PM |
People do not just fall in love with the physicality of a person, they fall in love with their mind and personality. But you knew that already, didn't you?
By all accounts Tom Poston was a sweetheart and very funny.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | March 31, 2023 4:35 PM |
The answer is you're shallow, OP.

He had a penis the size of a can of Pringles.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | March 31, 2023 4:39 PM |
He did have big dick face.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | March 31, 2023 4:44 PM |
He used to be a regular panelist on To Tell The Truth and he was the worst. Nothing he ever said was funny and he was ugly - he made moderator Bud Collyer look like Rock Hudson.
I'm sorry Peggy Cass isn't in this episode - she was the best. A close second is Polly Bergen who obviously tried some Suave products on her weird hair.

Yes, there was a time when Tom Poston was young and quite attractive.
Never knew oneself until up late one night and caught an episode of Thriller called "Masquerade" staring a very young (and brunette) Elizabeth Montgomery and Tom Poston.
Tom Poston was giving off BDE in spades...

I'm always puzzled when people say that pretty people fucking ugly people means they aren't shallow. Doesn't that make the ugly person fucking the beautiful person shallow? Isn't the ugly person shallow for not fucking someone as ugly as themselves?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 1, 2023 2:30 AM |
I honestly think people who aren't shallow dgaf about any of this and are just glad there's a happy couple out there. Not everyone lets this cheap shit take up valuable space in their brains, R13.

His second wife, the ballet dancer Jean Sullivan, was another beauty.

R11, I thought *I* was the only one who didn't understand Polly Bergen's hair. Lovely woman, awful hair.
Always reminded me of Sterling Holloway.

Wasn't Susie a dyke?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 1, 2023 3:37 AM |
R15 sounds like Tom is pretty shallow.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 1, 2023 3:57 AM |
R14 most people have an opinion on couples who are so greatly mismatched in looks. It tends to bother ugly people quite a lot when they do.

In your anecdotal mind, R20. In your anecdotal mind.

Suzanne Pleshette definitely liked the ladies as well so the pairing is mysterious in a few ways. What other female celeb had all female pallbearers?
It was rumoured Tina Sinatra was a long time love. Still she's buried between her two husbands.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | April 1, 2023 7:40 AM |
It was Tina Sinatra who accepted the plaque tied to Pleshette's posthumous star on Hollywood Blvd.

Tom ate her snatch like no one ever did. He was great at eating pussy!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 28 | April 1, 2023 8:59 AM |
PLeshette and Poston had known each other for many years. That counts a lot when people do a late in life marriage.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | April 1, 2023 12:30 PM |
Well Susie could be sure that he couldn't get any uglier no matter how old he got.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | April 1, 2023 4:49 PM |
Young Tom Poston and Suzanne Pleshette.
Don't lie to me; some of you would have hit that (Tom Poston).

After Troy Donahue, anything is an improvement. He was a š·.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | April 2, 2023 6:52 AM |
Her second husband was ugly too.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | April 2, 2023 6:56 AM |
Um, because some people aren't shallow? They fall in love with the person and not a face? And, not everyone has the same definition of "beauty".
Considering the fact that only a tiny percentage of the population is exceptionally handsome/beautiful and a slightly larger percentage are nice looking and a rather huge amount of the population is average looking with another smaller group of "unique looking" folks, it's not really uncommon for people to be attracted outside their supposed "peer" group.
Also: Tom definitely gave off Big Dick Energy.

Suzanne was NOT a lesbian. A throaty, smoker's voice does not a lesbian make.

Suzanne wanted to have kids until she worked with Patty Duke.

He was hilarious in "Cold Turkey" as the town drunk. Funny as hell. He was part of an incredible ensemble cast: Dick Van Dyke, Bob Newhart, Jean Stapleton, Vincent Gardenia, Barbara Cason, Pippa Scott, Graham Jarvis, Barnard Hughes, Paul Benedict, Edward Everett Horton. Directed and written by Norman Lear.
