Rupert Murdoch Calls Trump ‘Deranged’ and ‘Bat Hit Crazy’ in Searing New York Post .
The Rupert Murdoch-owned New York Post wrote a scathing editorial on Friday about Donald Trump, with a cover headline that calls the former president “deranged” and “bat hit crazy.”
The editorial centers on Trump’s past behavior and reaction to the current real possibility of indictment in the criminal case he’s facing in New York related to hush money payments made to Stormy Daniels, with Trump warning of “death and destruction”

Aww, poor Murdoch. He can't control Trump or the fatso's cultists.
Such a shame that no matter how much money he has, and how much media he buys, he can't be the kingmaker and puppeteer he really thinks he is.
Dominion has done us a public service by exposing how weak and pathetic this sack of shit and bones is.

Yes, Murdoch gets that with Trump the GOP is in danger of becoming a rump party (pun sort of intended) that has the support of around 20% to 25% of the population while permanently losing all of the more educated suburban Republicans (Bush-Romney types)
At the same time, they realize that Trump's base is who watches Fox News and reads the Post, so they have to strike a balancing act

R40, Trump is a loser. He keeps tanking the Republicans. He is a conundrum for the GOP in that they realize that if his supporters turn against them, they're fucked... but at the same time, they're also losing an equally large number of suburban voters, possibly forever.
And only Cheney, Kinzinger and occasionally Romney have the guts to stand up to him.

Also, re: Murdoch, the WSJ coverage of his rally was very funny - reporters pick which quotes they use and this was no accident:
"Bobbie Swinford, 48, shielded herself from the sun with a blue hat that said “Trump 2024—he will be back.” The Whitney, Texas, resident said... “Trump stands for what America wants, [bold] he’s business savvy and he has great relationships with foreign nations, which is what we need,” [/bold]
Bolded for emphasis, but the reporters clearly were laughing to themselves over the notion that Trump has "great relationships with foreign nations"
Okay, maybe Russia and North Korea...

Murdoch is shoving all his chips in for DeSantis the Deranged.
I've been criticized here for predicting this, but I'm standing by my prediction that DeSantis' "appeal" stops at the Florida border.
Those cruel, cheap, stunts he's allowed to pull in Florida are an example.
He sent armed police with video cameras to humiliate, and round -up, poor, unarmed, orderly citizens who believed (because they were told they could by Florida officials! ) they could vote, and did so.
DeSantis is the Master of Interstate Hwy 4 Type of Political Stunts; akin to the illusions of Disney World and Universal Studios.
That shit flies in Florida.
But it doesn't nationally, and DeSantis the Deranged won't figure out how to transition.

It's hard to know though, because of how the media game works.
At first all those "DeSantis is the new GOP king" articles were getting all the clicks... and then they weren't and now they've shifted gear to DeSantis can't get elected, he eats pudding with his fingers articles.
And he hasn't even declared his candidacy yet.

DeSantis will be president based on of the attention he's getting. Just like Scott Walker became president when the golden boy from WI was the "it" girl.
DeSantis is a little bitch with a terrible speaking voice who clearly won't be able to handle journalists outside of his bubble. He already fucked up with the Ukraine nonsense and Trump's flying monkeys will never turn on their orange witch and support DeSantis. Republicans are primarily rotten to the core. I can't think of a single elected Republican with any decency. Even Mitt teeters on the edge. And the ones who elect them are simply not good people. As I've said countless times: The stupidest person to ever run for president got the nomination of the Republican Party the moment he was openly hateful. That's the moment they gravitated to Trump. When he targeted minorities, that was the moment he became their king. Just like when Karl Rove used McCain's "black child" to get Dubya the nomination. That's why you don't pull the "identity politics" bullshit with Democrats. Only the GOP uses hate against races or religions to get the support of their voters. Someone like MTG or Boebert or Tuberville, could never get elected to Congress if the GOP actually had standards -- and all three have engaged in racist/bigoted narratives. Vile people.

DeSantis's current support seems to come from "Last Ditch Republicans" -- the ones who are smart enough to realize that Trump will destroy the party and relegate it to minor league status. They're not quite ready to become Democrats yet though and are hoping that DeSantis can provide them with the sort of GOP that will lure all those Bush-McCain suburbanites back.
You've also got the Evangelicals who feel that they got what they needed from Trump but now he's more of a problem than a solution and needs to be excommunicated and denounced.
The problem is they are greatly outnumbered by Trump' "flying monkeys" and support for DeSantis seems half-hearted and mostly based on the notion that he can somehow win over Trump's crazies.

R64, just an FYI: my parents were Reagan Republicans and even though he started this mess, at least he had the decency not to be so overt in his KKK credentials as this current feedlot.
Frankly, I don't know what's more disgusting: That the GOP is now openly prejudiced or that they've allowed genuinely stupid people to be elected. Like fucking idiots who couldn't pass grade school. How do you allow a moron who doesn't even know the three branches of govt to become a senator? And you reject a brilliant civil rights attorney to get that meathead gym teacher elected. That's like going to a mechanic who doesn't know what a steering wheel is instead of the one who works on Ferrari.
And let's throw in the glaring hypocrisy of states like MS. A fucking shithole screaming about socialism yet dependent on it for their survival. And what is their current situation? Hand out for taxpayer money due to a tornado when they're not giving it to football meatheads
The GOP is a garbage fire party at this point. They shouldn't even be considered an American political party at this point. They're a terrorist group.

Too little, too late for that. Unless Trump is incapacitated, dies or goes to prison, he's going to be the Republican nominee. Now, the Republicans are seeing that malignant narcissists like him, while incredibly useful, are also incredibly dangerous. Trump is not going to play nice and DeSantis is proving to be no match for him. As popular as DeSantis is in Florida, he doesn't play well nationally.
