R33 the rumors were that he wanted to stay on the show but wanted a raise. Since Peacock was spending an extra $1.50. on the show but they said no to his request then dropped him to recurring status.

Ron says they’re replacing him and his team during the writers strike at Days. Other soap writers are also speaking out. Apparently this has happened before. I love how it says viewers will see a drop in quality. Have they seen Ron’s writing?

I'm surprised DAYS would be having any new scripts written just yet. They're really far ahead.

If the writers are still striking in July/August then sure. But they should give it some time.

Ron is expected them to hire a new writing staff in the interim as that happened to him before with One Life to Live during the last strike.

Maybe r48 and r47. The WGA recently created a website to snitch on scabs writing during the strike. The WGA has also put out that they will punish those who knowingly don't turn in suspected scab writers.

So I don't know if any of the soaps will be able to get scab writers this time around. They probably would have to try to hire non unionized writers. Although with Y&R I wouldn't put past Josh Griffith to decide to take on all the writing positions duties.

Peacock has said that they are not altering Days production schedule so they will not cease production. Scab scripts will have to be written.

Then that means they are either going get some non union writers r50 or take the chance and hope some union writers out there would be willing to endure the wrath of the WGA and scab write for Days.

The Daytime Emmys was just postponed due the writers strike.

Why can’t the Emmys have the show anyway? They don’t need the corny, dumb banter that always makes the audience cringe. Just walk out, introduce the nominees, then the winner and be done with it. Eliminate the stupidly written crap.

Queen Jason 47 has said that Days has 2 writers on staff that were kicked out of the union for crossing the picket line. Maybe they've taken over writing the show.

There is rumor alleging that Peacock is thinking of changing Days production schedule for their 60th anniversary.

R54 It's actually that two current Days writers are non-union, going back to the 2007 strike when they continued working and were expulsed from the WGA.
