Racy musical numbers in 1950's Musicals

How did numbers like "Pet Me Poppa" make it through the censors in such a repressive decade? The costumes alone were quite racy. I personally love Guys and Dolls, Brando, Sinatra, and Simmons shine in this one. Vivian Blane was wonderful. Who knew Brando could carry a tune.
