Golden Age Stars Who Would Be Considered Attractive Today

I think Rudolph Valentino would still be considered handsome. However, I can't think of any actresses from the silent era who would make the grade except perhaps Garbo.

Charles Farrell has this nice wholesome look, it I know nothing about him other than lots of his photos show up if you google for handsome silent film actors.

Carole Lombard, Myrna Loy, Madeline Carroll, Jean Simmons, Vivian Leigh and Betsy Drake. All would be considered beautiful today.

Not a star, but twink David Rollins, the light in FW Murnau's eyes.

Gary Cooper, of course.

This is a silly question. Just because someone is from another era, they wouldn't be considered attractive today? Good looks are still good looks. Put them in contemporary clothing and they'd still be attractive.

Now if you're talking about the Victoria or Edwardian era where they preferred plump women...

Joel McCrea was the Armie Hammer of his day.

Nils Asther holds up pretty well by modern standards.

It’s the makeup that makes them look unattractive in old silent films. Lighting and makeup changed in the mid-1920s and became much more natural looking.

Ewww R7, Joel McCrea never needed to rape anyone, that guy was drowning in pussy

Gary Cooper and John Wayne would still get it. Gable is my favorite leading man from that era but I dont know if he'd make it.

The biggest female movie stars of that era were 5 ft or less. Gloria Swanson, Mary Pickford, Judy Garland, Veronica Lake -- all 4'11", Janet Gaynor was 5 ft

The shortest actress today is around 5 ft 2" (Zoe Kravitz, Lady Gaga, Salma Hayek) and they usually wear platform heels.

R11 He let himself get sucked off for roles early in his career. He'd still get in.

Vivien Leigh but it would be short lived due to her erratic behaviour which couldn't be hidden in today's world. She be booted out quicker than Debra Winger was.

Laurence Olivier & Cary Grant would still be considered attractive today.
