Elvis was definitely creepy towards teenage girls but he did also date several girls who were around his age in the 50’s like Barbara Hearn, June Juanico, and Anita Wood. Some people say Ann Margret was the love of his life and she was an adult woman.
He had affairs with Barbara Leigh and Susan Henning, both of whom were mothers before they met Elvis. Priscilla has also taken back her claim that Elvis stopped sleeping with her after she gave birth.

Elvis was one of the hottest human beings to walk planet Earth.
Still, I find it very easy to believe Moreno and Shepard.
In fact the best sex I’ve ever had was from average or slightly above average looking guys.

by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 23, 2023 11:33 AM |
"Some people say Ann Margret was the love of his life and she was an adult woman."
The fact that those people have to specify that she was an adult woman kind of says...
...He'd hit that first, but since she was unavailable there was a whole lot of freaky deaky going on otherwise.
I mean, you're not doing him any favors with that encomium.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 23, 2023 11:44 AM |
R21 By adult woman I mean she was truly his equal. She was dubbed the female Elvis.
Elvis by most accounts didn’t want to marry Priscilla, he wanted to marry Ann Margret, but he had an obligation to fulfill and the Colonel feared what would happen if he didn’t marry Priscilla.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | March 23, 2023 11:49 AM |
He was purportedly uncut and rather ashamed of it. Elvis didn’t like having a stank sleeve, I don’t blame him. Performance anxiety.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | March 23, 2023 11:52 AM |
Well… he was a very troubled guy- from the get go- which led to eating disorders, substance abuse and an early death.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | March 23, 2023 2:29 PM |
Apparently, Elvis was bisexual. But he lived in a time when it had to be deeply hidden. I honestly believe he could swing both ways.

[quote] Elvis didn’t like having a stank sleeve, I don’t blame him. Performance anxiety.
You can keep super clean. This is not a good reason. He was just lazy because he had bazillions of women who wanted him. Not a big deal to move on if a woman wasn't satisfied.

Same with Prince
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 23, 2023 2:53 PM |
Bossy and stingy in bed, sang gospel while I fucked him, liked doing it on a rubber sheet to protect his fur coverlet. Made me eat a fried banana out of his ass that his had nicknamed 'the ghetto'. His safe word was 'Gladys'. His jizz smelled of childhood poverty. But, I still get a case of orange Nehi every Christmas. Lovely man.

R5 Are you aware the article you posted is a takedown of Goldman's tabloid hatchet job on Elvis, and not on Elvis himself?
'It is Goldman’s purpose to entirely discredit Elvis Presley, the culture that produced him, and the culture he helped create—to altogether dismiss and condemn, in other words, not just Elvis Presley, but the white working-class South from which he came, and the pop world which emerged in his wake. For such a task, revelations about the moral weakness and ill-spent life of a single individual are useful, but no matter how numerous or squalid such revelations might be, they are not sufficient. It is necessary to utterly destroy the individual’s claim on our attention by leading the reader to feel in every way superior to him; to sever the individual from the social context that might make sense of his work or allow the reader to feel kinship with him; to bury what might remain of that social context in bigotry and stereotyping; to selectively omit important parts of the story being told, and to falsify others; and to surround the enterprise as a whole with calumnies and lies.'

I still think if Elvis had been into men he would have surrounded himself with good looking ones. Very few lookers in the Memphis Mafia.

Don't forget about Joan Blackman. (Apparently every woman Elvis felt up was the "love of his life")
by Anonymous | reply 41 | March 27, 2023 6:08 AM |
I'm surprised no one's mentioned Elvis' Oedipal relationship with his mother. I believe a book came out in the 80s alleging they'd slept together.

R44 It was around 1972 and she said he was still in good shape then.

R44 - he meant a different kind of eating. Nothing to do with food intake, or bulimia.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | March 27, 2023 6:20 AM |
OP when you say “sleep with”, you actually mean “fuck”, right?
Or did you really mean “cuddle up in our PJs and hope for some zzzzzzz’s”? It can be hard to interpret American euphemisms sometimes.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | March 27, 2023 6:32 AM |
It's such a stupid euphemism. Why can't you say 'have sex with' if that's what you mean. You can sleep with someone and not have sex.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | March 27, 2023 2:52 PM |
THANK YOU r47 and r48. It's such soap opera language. Like in the 70s when people called sex partners lovers. Ew. Makes my skin crawl, Just say had sex with.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | March 27, 2023 3:03 PM |
R47 I never thought of "sleep with" as a euphemism. Just like I never thought of "make out with" as a euphemism. It's just another way to say something. Why do people insist on correcting this?
by Anonymous | reply 50 | March 27, 2023 3:51 PM |
Is "hook up with" also a euphemism?
by Anonymous | reply 51 | March 27, 2023 3:52 PM |
[quote]You can sleep with someone and not have sex.
But the meaning of "slept with" or "slept together" is clear, and the meaning is not sleeping with someone and not having sex.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | March 27, 2023 3:54 PM |
R52 No. It's still an euphemism. I've slept with many people (e.g. camping in the same tent, friends sleeping in my bed with me when I was at college) and not had sex with them.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | March 27, 2023 3:56 PM |
Hook up, fuck, bang, nail, are all better euphemisms that "sleep with". Children sleep with parents, people sleep with their pets, etc and in most cases none of them are having sex.
It's gross.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | March 27, 2023 3:59 PM |
Oh, come on, you know what you mean when you say sleep with. Nobody thinks you were actually sleeping.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | March 27, 2023 4:01 PM |
Except when it is a child or a dog.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | March 27, 2023 4:02 PM |
R55 What about my friend who visited me in college? Didn't have another bed so they slept in the same bed with me. No sex at all. How would you describe that?
by Anonymous | reply 57 | March 27, 2023 4:04 PM |
Boring, r57. That's how I'd describe that.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | March 27, 2023 4:06 PM |
R55 yes everyone know what it means but it is even more cringeworthy than “making love.” Just say “had sex.”
by Anonymous | reply 59 | March 27, 2023 4:42 PM |
R15 Cilla waffles a bit, but doesn't actually answer the question. In fact she says "I know what you're talking about but I'm not going to go there." So.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | March 27, 2023 4:48 PM |
R59, NOTHING is more cringeworthy than "making love."
by Anonymous | reply 61 | March 27, 2023 10:00 PM |
Elvis' Aunt Lillian said said Dixie Locke was the love of his life. He was 18 and she was 15 when they started dating; two years later they drifted apart.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | March 27, 2023 10:27 PM |
[quote] But the meaning of "slept with" or "slept together" is clear,
I don't think it's clear.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | March 27, 2023 10:35 PM |
R63, If someone says "So-and-so sleeps around," would you think that so-and-so is a freegan who has taken a vow of poverty and prefers couch surfing to home ownership? Or is it pretty clear that so-and-so fucks a lot of people? I think it's pretty clear that so-and-so fucks a lot of people.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | March 28, 2023 4:13 AM |
R64 It doesn't matter whether non-autistics understand what it means. The phrase is still a big euphemism. It means having sex with. Why can't you say 'have sex with'?
by Anonymous | reply 65 | March 28, 2023 4:17 AM |
R53 You're being too literal.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | March 28, 2023 4:17 AM |
R65 Why can't you let people express themselves in the way that's natural to them? You know exactly what they mean, so why do they have to say it in a way that pleases you? People were raised differently. Some people don't say "fuck". Believe it or not. Some got used to saying "slept with" because it's what people said in front of others. I wouldn't say to my sister "I fucked that person" or "he had sex with her", because it sounds crude.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | March 28, 2023 4:23 AM |
R66 It is still an euphemism. The definition of euphemism. Although my least favorite euphemism is 'passed away' instead of 'died'. Passed away where? What if I'm not religious and don't believe in an afterlife? Passed away as in fainted? I loathe that one much more.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | March 28, 2023 4:23 AM |
R67 I like saying things straight. Of course you can say what you like but also I can say what I like too. I prefer 'having sex with' to 'fucked' too.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | March 28, 2023 4:25 AM |
Well if you want to be literal, not everybody who sleeps together actually fucks. I've had relationships (is it ok to say "relationships"?) where we never fucked. So is that "having sex"?
by Anonymous | reply 70 | March 28, 2023 4:59 AM |
R70 If you had a relationship (yes, it is 'ok to say relationships' ffs) where you never fucked, OBVIOUSLY that is not having had sex. But you already knew that. Dumbfuck.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | March 28, 2023 5:05 AM |
This thread has officially gone off the rails.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | March 28, 2023 5:06 AM |
R71 So you would have to describe it as "sleeping together" which is why that's a good catch-all phrase for relationships that aren't platonic (...was my point). Much better than "fucking."
by Anonymous | reply 73 | March 28, 2023 1:03 PM |
R73 I call having sex with someone 'having sex'.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | March 28, 2023 1:11 PM |
r67, you seriously think "had sex" sounds crude? Even though multiple people are telling you that "slept with" is totally cringe? Why is that?
by Anonymous | reply 75 | March 28, 2023 2:52 PM |
R75 I think that's key to all of this. A lot of people find stating the truth to be too blunt even though it means the same thing in the end. Hence why we get vile euphemisms like 'passed away' instead of 'died' or 'slept with' instead of 'had sex with'.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | March 28, 2023 2:54 PM |
[quote] you seriously think "had sex" sounds crude? Even though multiple people are telling you that "slept with" is totally cringe? Why is that?
I wasn't the one who originally used the phrase "slept with" in this thread so apparently multiple people use the phrase.
It's probably generational. I grew up in the suburbs in the 70s, nobody even mentioned the word sex. Sex ed. in school (which was new) was called something new age-y, I forget what, now. Can't help how we were conditioned. I probably would still say someone slept with his/her secretary rather than had sex with his secretary, if I was talking to people I didn't know very well. Sorry if you don't like it, it's not that important.

by Anonymous | reply 78 | March 28, 2023 4:55 PM |
I seriously hope euphemisms aren't going away. I'm a terrible liar, so when asked if I "slept with so-and-so", I can truthfully say: "Nope".
