Tasteful friends: Zsa Zsa Gabor's gracious Palm Springs home for sale

That bedroom is certainly fit for a pissy queen.

Those dirt and rock hills aren’t very appealing. I’m not sure I get Palm Springs.

by Anonymousreply 1March 20, 2023 1:22 AM

Holy Mary Mother of God!!

by Anonymousreply 2March 20, 2023 1:23 AM

Total gut interior renovation. Beautiful property.

by Anonymousreply 3March 20, 2023 1:24 AM

Oh, and paint and re-landscape outside.

Still a great property.

by Anonymousreply 4March 20, 2023 1:27 AM

I agree with R1.

As for the house interior, she couldn't have made it more ugly and unappealing if she tried.

by Anonymousreply 5March 20, 2023 1:28 AM

Looks like an old motel 6

by Anonymousreply 6March 20, 2023 1:29 AM

The property, the property.

by Anonymousreply 7March 20, 2023 1:31 AM

Love that structure, pool, and yes property. I also like the exterior color, actually. The inside... well, interesting, I suppose.

by Anonymousreply 8March 20, 2023 1:34 AM

Like I said, a gut interior reno.

I also could live with the outside color.

by Anonymousreply 9March 20, 2023 1:36 AM

Yup. I remembered the "bold design choices" from the last thread. I may NEVER forget them, to my great chagrin.

Gorgeous. I’ll take as is. Cash offer.

by Anonymousreply 11March 20, 2023 1:46 AM

paint and change the cabinet doors.

by Anonymousreply 12March 20, 2023 1:50 AM

Hello? Stipple ceilngs! We're all gonna die!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 13March 20, 2023 2:01 AM

Someone will buy this and then tear it down and build something much better. Wait and see !

by Anonymousreply 14March 20, 2023 2:36 AM

Complete tear down.

by Anonymousreply 15March 20, 2023 3:28 AM

Being stuck in the desert heat with low ceilings and that decor would drive me to madness.

by Anonymousreply 16March 20, 2023 3:31 AM

R1 Funny how all this works: the only thing appealing to me about this candied barf of a house is its location, close to the raw and undeveloped desert.

Yeah, if you don't like the desert maybe PS isn't for you.

by Anonymousreply 17March 20, 2023 3:32 AM

Why on earth did Zsa Zsa use the same wallpaper to back the dining room shelving as in the master bedroom?

by Anonymousreply 18March 20, 2023 3:55 AM

This place is fucking spectacular and I won’t stand for ONE critical word about it.

by Anonymousreply 19March 20, 2023 4:00 AM

It's awful, and I love it.

I unironically love the exterior. That's a great color. The interior decoration is pretty horrible to me, but my main problem is with all the cabinetry; so heavy and all so alike! I would love to see the kitchen with some sleek, midcentury light wood shelving and cabinets and the bathroom with anything but what's there. I actually love the garish wallpaper choices.

by Anonymousreply 20March 20, 2023 4:08 AM

Also, what's that to the side of the house? It looks like a little Flower Power-themed train car!

by Anonymousreply 21March 20, 2023 4:09 AM

Looks like an expanded manufactured home.

by Anonymousreply 22March 20, 2023 4:32 AM

Is that Astro Turf in the backyard? Silly question. Of course it is!

by Anonymousreply 23March 20, 2023 4:46 AM

R1 you and I are on the same page. Looks like she’s living in an empty desert void, a place where I’d expect to see an abandoned car and that hippy bus fits in better than that block wall house that sank my spirits so much when I moved to Phoenix, land of the block wall houses. The whole thing depresses the heck out of me. Scorps galore out there I’m sure and dry, dirt and dust. That is Zsa Zsa’s house? Seems more like she would live on Fifth avenue, New York is where I’d want her to be.

by Anonymousreply 24March 20, 2023 5:02 AM

Eva took the good apartment on Fifth Avenue, R24.

What is so great about living in Palm Springs? I can understand vacationing there for a three-day weekend, maybe a whole week, during the winter months, relaxing at one of the resorts, sunbathing by the pool, enjoying a drink with a little umbrella in it. However, I can’t see myself living there full-time, especially during the summer. And if I were to live there year-round, the only way I could see myself being in any way happy is if I were living in one of those multi-million dollar homes, like Zsa Zsa’s estate, not some little apartment. I don’t get it.

by Anonymousreply 26March 20, 2023 5:38 AM

It’s hideous and I absolutely love it!

by Anonymousreply 27March 20, 2023 5:57 AM

I mean this is Eastern Eurotrash meets tacky Americana. There’s everything but plastic pink flamingos. It’s a glorious time capsule that should be persevered.

by Anonymousreply 28March 20, 2023 6:01 AM

Motel 6 - we’ll leave the light off because this property is Pepto Bismol pink

by Anonymousreply 29March 20, 2023 8:05 AM

Looking at those interior shots, all I could think was, “I would HATE to be hungover in that godawful place.”

by Anonymousreply 30March 20, 2023 8:12 AM

A kitchen? Neither Magda nor Zsa Zsa cooked. They probably didn't even know what a kitchen was.

by Anonymousreply 31March 20, 2023 10:21 AM

No mention of the pool infused with Chanel N°5?

That alone would have been a major selling point to the discerning buyer.

by Anonymousreply 32March 20, 2023 10:39 AM

Perfectly hidjus. SO busy, and those mirrors!

*shudders*

The only good things about are the pool area and the location.

by Anonymousreply 33March 20, 2023 11:52 AM

I really like the bathroom with the bird wallpaper. The rest is a bit of an acquired taste but at least its not dull. Not sure I could live with all the mirrored walls

by Anonymousreply 34March 20, 2023 12:02 PM

R18 - that wallpaper was marked down to 99 cents a roll in the clearance section at Sears back in 1979. How could she pass it up ?

by Anonymousreply 35March 20, 2023 2:26 PM

Looks like shit

by Anonymousreply 36March 20, 2023 6:52 PM

For $3.8 M someone will snatch it up, tear it down, build better and bigger and sell the new house for around $50m. Without a doubt.

by Anonymousreply 37March 20, 2023 7:46 PM

The house itself is fine. Gut the interior.

by Anonymousreply 38March 20, 2023 8:11 PM

I enjoyed this discussion when we had it last year on the first thread about this house.

by Anonymousreply 39March 20, 2023 9:55 PM

Any house I own would have to have a second floor and a basement. This has neither. It's just a tarted up trailer.

by Anonymousreply 40March 20, 2023 10:04 PM

Zsa Zsa.

by Anonymousreply 41March 20, 2023 10:41 PM

second floor for your stairlift, r40?

by Anonymousreply 42March 20, 2023 10:45 PM

No way for the Queen of outer space to live.

by Anonymousreply 43March 21, 2023 12:35 AM

All of that shit was fine after Zsa Zsa died and her gay husband sold the house. I don’t believe anyone has bothered to mention that.

by Anonymousreply 44March 21, 2023 2:00 AM

I take that back. That’s not even Zsa Zsa’s home OP. That her sister Magda’s Palm Springs home and all of that shit was done after Magda Gabor’s death.

Lots of ‘rattlers in that area comin out dem rocks and that area as PS begins to heat up.

by Anonymousreply 49March 21, 2023 2:16 AM

Woof. It would make an interesting Airbnb.

by Anonymousreply 50March 21, 2023 2:46 AM

Nothing about this place could be considered "quiet good taste". The exterior really is a bit like a trailer. The inside just seems like a whore house. Having an outdoor pool in the desert is just a waste of resources.

by Anonymousreply 51March 21, 2023 4:22 AM

Cielo Drive! The Gabor's lived in the Manson Tate House?

by Anonymousreply 52March 21, 2023 5:04 AM

Top of Little Tuscany? No thanks. Windy AF up there. It's private of course, but this isn't a preferred area of Palm Springs IMO.

by Anonymousreply 53March 21, 2023 5:08 AM

Whoever buys this place is the ultimate DLer.

by Anonymousreply 54March 21, 2023 5:11 AM

Spiders, snakes and scorpions.

by Anonymousreply 55March 21, 2023 5:23 AM

R55 - and coyotes. And tons of hikers walking past because it's just off the Lykken trail.

I can't believe the estate held on to this for so long? Why? Seems like a gay guy owns it. SOMEBODY was living there for all these years.

by Anonymousreply 56March 21, 2023 5:31 AM

Great location for a desert property, but the house doesn't take any advantage of it.

by Anonymousreply 57March 21, 2023 1:08 PM

Palm Springs is just plain awful.

Bare dirt. extreme heat and tired old queens who can't afford L.A. anymore.

The house, as pointed out repeatedly above, is beyond ugly. Did the painting in the bathroom come from a gas station gift shop? Or was it free with a fill up? And why is the Partridge Family bus parked next to the house?

Sorry, but I'd prefer Fresno to this shit.

by Anonymousreply 58March 21, 2023 2:04 PM

I miss Zsa Zsa. She was a fabulous old broad. They don’t make them like that anymore.

by Anonymousreply 59March 21, 2023 2:15 PM

Gracious?

by Anonymousreply 60March 21, 2023 2:21 PM

So ugly I'd sit fire to the whole thing and just build something from scratch.

by Anonymousreply 61March 21, 2023 2:40 PM

Like Vegas, Palm Springs is good for 48 hours.

by Anonymousreply 62March 21, 2023 2:47 PM

A lot of the wallpaper clashed with the furniture gives me agita.

by Anonymousreply 63March 21, 2023 2:49 PM

R59, we’re going to have to wait a few decades, but Paris Hilton will eventually get old. Of course, that’s assuming she doesn’t die young from some kind of drug overdose.

by Anonymousreply 64March 21, 2023 3:04 PM

It’s hideous and perfect
