The US Doesn’t Care About Its Own People
If it did, they would’ve addressed the terrible conditions in many places in their homeland by now. The US has the money but they don’t want to fix anything. They’d rather send trillions to Israel or to beef up their already loaded military, and give police military equipment.
The UN was even shocked by conditions in many places in the US. Conditions that are similar to third world countries.
They especially don’t want to address the impoverished black communities. The government will just let black communities suffer with shit like poor water and terrible air quality. And their only answer is “why won’t those blacks pull themselves up by their bootstraps?”

OP, where might I find your outraged threads about the impoverished Americans and trillions the US gives to homo-murdering Muslim countries Afghanistan, Egypt, Jordan, Sudan and Iraq?

Americans are too dumbed down/apathetic to care, even if they’re being directly impacted by kleptocratic malfeasance. They’re also poorly traveled, and have no clue how bad they have it compared to other first world countries.

I agree with you and I am not a dumper.

Only one political party doesn't care OP, and it's not the one with a holy ass as it's symbol.
Biden is proposing a massive expansion of social programs by taxing the rich, supporting middle and lower class citizens by finally addressing the exorbitant wealth of the top 0.1% in this country.
One party is looking to pay back their donors in China and on Wall Street whilst simultaneously collapsing the economy by refusing to lift the debt ceiling. And they're as red as the communists they claim to hate.

They don’t send trillions to Israel. Israel isn’t even at the top of the list of countries the US sends aid to. But carry on OP.

“Proposing” is not the same as actually delivering.
And, no, Joe Biden never intended to deliver.

The UN? Do we really want to get into the barbaric countries the UN supports?

It drives me crazy when people say to me, "America is the best country in the world!" Every now and then, when I think I can get away with it, I'll say, "Oh -- and how many other countries have you lived in?"
A line I rarely get to use (although I swear someday I'm going to have a bumper sticker made) is "The Army made me a liberal." But it's true -- had I not been stationed in (at the time) West Germany, I would never have known how much better the Germans had it than we did. They got off work at noon on Fridays. They had 30 days paid vacation a year. They had public transit to virtually everywhere. They could drive as fast as they wanted on the Autobahn. And their country was beautiful -- it was sooooo old; it looked like it had been meticulously manicured for centuries, and didn't have a twig out of place. I fell in love with it. The only thing was, it was so fucking cold! But not so much now, with climate change and all.
So yes -- travel to any Western European country makes it patently obvious that the US doesn't give a fuck about us, and this was evident to me even back in1977 before I had a context into which to put my experience there.
Oh, well, I guess it could be worse. I could be the Darfur Orphan.

we need universal health insurance. Senator Bernie Sanders does care. We need to pass his bill, Medicare for ALL.

The US doesn’t pour money into its own country to fix things for the less advantaged because it’s not a SOCIALIST COUNTRY.

R12 how do you compare the behemoth USA and its 332 million people to a country slightly smaller than Texas and only 1/4 the population (83 million)?

And yet, plenty of West Europeans complain about their countries, too. The French, for instance, are taking to the streets over a proposal to raise the retirement age. Doesn't the government give a fuck about its citizens?

I'm sorry R6, but I don't believe it. He and his son have enriched themselves and tried to hide it. He's all talk.

Um, no, that's the former guy and his son-in-law.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||March 19, 2023 1:32 PM
The only person Bernie Sanders ever enriched is himself.
He’s accomplished nothing in his entire career.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||March 19, 2023 1:42 PM
R16, there is a certain class in the US wanting to have no retirement age, no security for the elderly, or anyone at all. So.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||March 19, 2023 1:48 PM
And, R20< Sander's previous wife left him because he wouldn't work.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||March 19, 2023 1:50 PM
Shit argument. With its large population, obviously the US government gets much more money so they should be able to help their own citizens.

I'll take "No Shit" for 500, Alex.
This will only get worse with fascist Republicans controlling the SC and House.

The US spent between $220M and $330M EVERY FREAKING DAY during the 20-FREAKING YEAR Afghanistan war. For what benefit? For what reasons? For what results? For what ROI? Can anyone articulate any benefits or blessings from this venture? Sure, Haliburton and Bechtel probably made coin, but how were our national interests advanced via this cesspool known as Afghanistan? This amount of money and continuous spending is massive and boggles the mind. A similar story is told with US involvement in Vietnam. We never learn. This country has never faced up to building the nation's foundation on kidnapping and enslaving Africans, taking them halfway across the world, using worse than beasts, working them from "see" to "caint' see", raping African women in order to increase their ownership of more slaves (this point is especially egregious; if slaves were perceived as subhuman, why would good Christian men fuck them? This is the same as fucking a pig or a horse, but I digress.) For the 100 years after 1863 "Jim Crow" laws and social customs effectively replaced slavery and perpetuated the second-class status of the former slaves.
This country's foundation is built on capitalism: having an initial investment and making it grow. The enslaved Africans were the initial investment during the agricultural era from the years 1619 to 1863. The newly emancipated citizens were only given good wishes and fairy dust as their stake in the entrenched and well-established system of capitalism. No, OP, this country (the government, monied class, masters of the Universe, big business, political parties, politicians, power elite, and social systems) does not care about black, poor, young people, women, Appalachian, rural, working-class, or middle-class people. No. Absolutely not.
The United States is invested in advancing and supporting monied interests, and everyone and everything else be damned. Only lip service to higher ideals is offered. A caring America is PR fiction. "America, America, God shed his grace on thee. And crown thy good with brotherhood from ...' Whatevs. Yeah, right. /s
