I didn't see a thread so I thought I would start one.

Things are moving right ahead and the boys are working hard to entertain us.

My favorite game so far was last night's Iowa Loss! I cannot believe there is NO criticism of Iowa coach giving his son Connor a scholarship for SIX years - he offered him his first one while Connor was still in High School. And the Covid portal has kept him on two MORE YEARS.

He is a middling player at best. Of course we still have scholarship son Patrick for another season....and two more McCaffrey sons coming up (one in high school who will no doubt be offered a scholarship during his senior year....and a boy in Jr. High.......).

None of them are really outstanding players. Last night at the end of the game Connor was bawling and moaning because his college career is finally over. My guess is he'll be back next year on his father's coaching staff.

Rant over.

Tonight: Purdue!

by Anonymousreply 174April 7, 2023 11:17 PM

Hmmmm.....I guess no one else is interested. That's okay.

by Anonymousreply 1March 17, 2023 11:36 PM

I knew Arizona would lose early without a decent point guard. I'm hoping UCLA can work out another magical run down two starters.

by Anonymousreply 2March 18, 2023 12:21 AM

Go Cats!

by Anonymousreply 3March 18, 2023 12:24 AM

This should have been a poll, so 90% could vote Vivian Vance.

by Anonymousreply 4March 18, 2023 12:39 AM

I hate Duke. That is all.

by Anonymousreply 5March 18, 2023 1:01 AM

by Anonymousreply 6March 18, 2023 1:10 AM

Go Guyjackers!

by Anonymousreply 7March 18, 2023 1:16 AM

Down goes #1 seed Purdue!

by Anonymousreply 8March 18, 2023 1:17 AM

Purdue loses to Fairly Ridiculous University.

by Anonymousreply 9March 18, 2023 1:35 AM

They should be forced to play shirtless. Then I’d watch.

by Anonymousreply 10March 18, 2023 1:42 AM

The coach for Princeton is a hot daddy.

by Anonymousreply 11March 18, 2023 1:47 AM

Glad I switched over from the Kentucky game to watch fdu/Purdue. Purdue couldn't do anything right. How do you the big 10 player of the year only take one in the last 12 minutes of a one and done game. Last year I was on reddit and there was a comment by a Purdue fan who hated Matt painter. I pointed out they kept Gene keady around for decades and he never got them to the final four. Looks like painter may be another keady. He has underperformed in March.

by Anonymousreply 12March 18, 2023 1:53 AM

DAMN! I missed that upset! I got distracted with the women's tourney!

by Anonymousreply 13March 18, 2023 2:58 AM

While I don’t think Purdue was worthy of the 1-seed, FDU has put on two very impressive Tournament performances.

by Anonymousreply 14March 18, 2023 3:29 AM

Yes......Painter saw exactly what FDU was doing in the first quarter and didn't change a damned thing.

So goodbye, Boilermakers! Sad.

CBS - Crotch Boy Shot - is doing the best at showing us some nice crotch and butt shots with TNT - Tight Nuts Taint - a close second.

by Anonymousreply 15March 18, 2023 5:03 PM

Who’s in that pic, R10?

by Anonymousreply 16March 18, 2023 5:06 PM

Princeton is all white?

by Anonymousreply 17March 18, 2023 10:38 PM

Fun to see some upsets spoil brackets right away.

by Anonymousreply 18March 18, 2023 11:26 PM

All the brackets on ESPN are fucked

by Anonymousreply 19March 18, 2023 11:28 PM

Will 3 #1 seeds be out before the Sweet Sixteen?

by Anonymousreply 20March 19, 2023 12:08 AM

#1 seed and defending champ Kansas just went down to #16 Arkansas (the "hogs") - by a single point.

by Anonymousreply 21March 19, 2023 12:12 AM

R17, it has some blacks. These guys are super smart plus super athletic.

by Anonymousreply 22March 19, 2023 12:51 AM

That made my week, r21. I loathe KU.

by Anonymousreply 23March 19, 2023 12:59 AM

Purdue has now lost to a double-digit seed in three consecutive NCAA tournaments

2021 - L to 13-seed North Texas

2022 - L to 15-seed St. Peter's (Sweet 16)

2023 - L to 16-seed Fairleigh Dickinson

by Anonymousreply 24March 19, 2023 1:06 AM

by Anonymousreply 25March 19, 2023 1:34 AM

R24 they weren't out played - they were out coached.

Fairleigh Dickinson coach is a weird hyperactive guy with a gorilla face.....I'm not sure if he has a speech impediment or is on something.....

They're playing on TRU tv tomorrow night at 7:45 ESDT......give it watch to see his reactions.....

by Anonymousreply 26March 19, 2023 3:18 AM

Princeton makes the sweet 16 for the first time since 1967!

by Anonymousreply 27March 19, 2023 4:37 AM

Here are the Princeton players and coach at the press conference -- all handsome fellows. Coach was a Princeton ball player.

by Anonymousreply 28March 19, 2023 5:50 AM

I'm not into basketball at all, but saw the end of the Princeton game in the gym locker room. They were interviewing I guess the lead player and the coach. Princeton is hot! I was so excited for their win. The coach is super hot as well. I'm going to be watching them. The whole team is very cute.

by Anonymousreply 29March 19, 2023 6:16 AM

Saint Mary's with five white players is just so... anachronistic. Weird.

by Anonymousreply 33March 19, 2023 10:35 PM

Marquette - Mich St is getting good.

And the camera guy keeps catching a HOT Marquette fan in the stands.

by Anonymousreply 34March 19, 2023 11:17 PM

R33, 4 of the 5 starters of Princeton's team are white guys.

by Anonymousreply 35March 20, 2023 1:06 AM

UConn is on a tear.

by Anonymousreply 36March 20, 2023 1:26 AM

Final Four Prediction: Alabama, Houston, UCLA, Kansas St

UCLA wins it all

by Anonymousreply 37March 20, 2023 1:47 AM

I had Baylor versus ucla in the final. Baylor lost tonight so my atrocious bracket continues to sink further.

I worry UCLA's injury woes will sink them. Too bad because healthy, they have good balance and great defense.

by Anonymousreply 38March 20, 2023 4:15 AM

R31 I've been lusting after him all season. Hot

by Anonymousreply 39March 20, 2023 4:18 AM

Marquette's coach was HOT! The fade haircut, the 5 o clock shadow, the dad athleisurewear hiding a TIGHT body.

by Anonymousreply 40March 20, 2023 10:59 AM

R37 fuck you and the horse you’ll soon ride out of town in…let’s see how many NCAA titles Ucla wins as part of the Big 10… must feel strange that your school’s entire athletic program was led by the nose as U$C’s second banana.

by Anonymousreply 41March 20, 2023 12:31 PM

R22 is super naive about how super Princeton is

by Anonymousreply 42March 20, 2023 12:33 PM

Florida Atlantic!!!!

Of course with the Covid protocol, some of the players are 25 years old......

by Anonymousreply 43March 20, 2023 3:37 PM

R41 Ahem, did you see what BIG 10 did in the tournament this year? ACC, Big 12 all have more successful post seasons. UCLA will help restore prestige to BIG 10 basketball.

Having said that, I'm not happy being in a league where we have to travel to Rutgers to play FB instead of rivals like WA and Oregon. Better restaurants in Palo Alto than West Lafayette.

by Anonymousreply 44March 20, 2023 4:04 PM

Jay Bilas says Connecticut is playing the best ball in the tourney thus far. Hard to hard with that.

by Anonymousreply 45March 20, 2023 4:56 PM

Jay always knows where to find the boys and the balls.

by Anonymousreply 46March 20, 2023 8:56 PM

I am loving these cute white boys killing it. I have only love for the traditionally majority black powerhouses which is why it is so fun to see these boys go to the top. It's rare, even genetically. Maybe what they are saying is true about gen z having the biggest cocks because of the all the hormones in foods. Maybe that goes for height, too.

by Anonymousreply 47March 21, 2023 1:18 AM

R42 must be be resentful he didn't have the smarts to get into an Ivy League school. Well, at least I did.

by Anonymousreply 48March 21, 2023 2:11 AM

Actually, I was accepted at an Ivy—I turned the offer down in favor of my flagship public school. ….At a fraction of the cost.

by Anonymousreply 49March 21, 2023 2:17 AM

[quote]Actually, I was accepted at an Ivy—I turned the offer down in favor of my flagship public school. ….At a fraction of the cost.

F.I.T. is NOT an Ivy, except to the dizzy queens that attend.

by Anonymousreply 50March 21, 2023 3:39 AM

It must have been a poor Ivy if they didn’t offer you a scholarship.

by Anonymousreply 51March 21, 2023 4:46 AM

Duke is out, both men and women, so everything's good.

by Anonymousreply 52March 21, 2023 5:10 AM

Duke REALLY sucks

by Anonymousreply 53March 21, 2023 5:17 AM

At least we all agree about Duke.

by Anonymousreply 54March 21, 2023 5:34 AM

Duke out. Kentucky out. Kansas out. North Carolina never made it in.

And there was a wide-spread media comment about this tournament - "all the Blue Bloods are out!!"

Ahem... UCLA w/ 11 national championships. UConn w/ 4 national championships since 1999.

Also, given DL's obsession with plastic surgery, seems like on this thread we should remark on the astonishing facial surgery on that crook Rick Pitino, who has just moved from Iona (let's see if he can stay out of jail) to St. John's (now he can break more laws).

Anyone but duke!

by Anonymousreply 61March 21, 2023 8:17 PM

I have a good friend who went to Duke and roots hard for the men’s and women’s teams. I haven’t the heart to say what I think of Duke.

Though Kara Lawson, who coached the women, is quite likable. That’s because she didn’t go there so lacks the arrogance.

by Anonymousreply 62March 21, 2023 8:39 PM

Anyone but Duke?

There’s the Evil Axis of college sports, in no particular order:

Notre Dame

by Anonymousreply 63March 21, 2023 9:27 PM

by Anonymousreply 66March 21, 2023 10:00 PM

Miami Hurricanes made it to Sweet 16 again. Last year they got to the Elite 8. Hope the upsets continue.

by Anonymousreply 67March 21, 2023 10:05 PM

R66. Um, I hate to say it—Stanford has the “winningest” overall record for NCAA D-I sports. They are followed by Ucla, Usc, and California (Berkeley).

by Anonymousreply 68March 21, 2023 10:26 PM

^By that, I mean total NCAA / collegiate championships, team or individual.

by Anonymousreply 69March 21, 2023 10:27 PM

"..... must be be resentful he didn't have the smarts to get into an Ivy League school."

Me either. But Trump got in.

by Anonymousreply 70March 21, 2023 10:30 PM

OK but nobody cares about co-ed tiddlywinks championships from the Forties.

by Anonymousreply 71March 21, 2023 10:36 PM

R71 UCLA was leader until the last decade or so.... so it's not "old time" Furd. And it's Men's volleyball, Men's water polo, and a bunch of women's sports.

by Anonymousreply 72March 21, 2023 11:29 PM

R59 we saw real college basketball with CCNY, and real college football with Fordham, and that was before I was born.

by Anonymousreply 73March 22, 2023 2:22 AM

UConn continuing to tear it up. Given Arkansas governor sarah huckabee’s recent attacks on LGBT, I thought it was important we humiliate them, and we did.

by Anonymousreply 74March 24, 2023 1:59 AM

I hate the title of this thread. It should be either "NCAA Tournament", "March Madness", or "Final Four". "NCAA Finals" is, with all due respect, dumb.

by Anonymousreply 75March 24, 2023 2:04 AM

Bona... UCLA's freshman monster center is out tonight. Bruins just have too many injuries now. It would be a huge upset if UCLA won.

by Anonymousreply 76March 24, 2023 2:04 AM

R75 Hate? Hmm. Hate's an awfully strong word.

by Anonymousreply 77March 24, 2023 2:05 AM

It’s not Final Four. That’s next weekend.

by Anonymousreply 78March 24, 2023 8:25 AM

Bye , Bruins.

by Anonymousreply 79March 24, 2023 9:23 AM

UCLA choked...and I'm not talking on a big cock.

by Anonymousreply 80March 24, 2023 9:50 AM

Glad to see the SEC getting blasted.

Here's hoping Bama gets destroyed. And what the fuck, Texas too. May as well see them rendered hopeless years before they join the SEC.

by Anonymousreply 81March 24, 2023 10:22 AM

It would be fascinating to compare this to a thread about the tournament on a site aimed at straight guys.

Even just a keyword analysis

by Anonymousreply 82March 24, 2023 10:27 AM

I love my bruins but that was like an epic choke job. They have had a few of the same choke jobs in the second half this season. Which were infuriating but they were swept under the rug as ucla ended the regular season strong. But the inexplicable scoring droughts eventually bit them in the ass. How the fuck does a team not score a bucket in 10 minutes? They could have had 5 blind guys out there and one bucket would have gone in out of pure chance. And yet the bruins managed to go without a field goal for 50% of the second half. When that happens in multiple games, I blame it on the coach. There's something about Cronin's offense that is so timid.

Fuck drew timme.

by Anonymousreply 83March 24, 2023 11:36 AM

Houston because it is long overdue.

by Anonymousreply 84March 24, 2023 11:45 AM

by Anonymousreply 89March 24, 2023 3:28 PM

R86, go see an optometrist. And also adjust your personality radar. He's unfortunate looking and has the personality of a douchebag.

by Anonymousreply 90March 24, 2023 3:29 PM

Looking forward to seeing Princeton tonight.

R75 I am sorry you don't like my thread title.....it was late and I just wanted something that would sort of reflect the topic.

I guess it makes as much sense as having March Madness continue into April.

by Anonymousreply 91March 24, 2023 4:14 PM

UCLA were without two of their starters... Jaylen Clark and Adem Bona. And they were players with exactly the skills needed to match up against Gonzaga. That they were even in the game was a surprise.

Not scoring a basket for 11 minutes, being completely out-rebounded, and still the Bruins were ahead with 12 seconds, and it took another 34' shot to beat them.

R85 Did you pay attention this season? UCLA won the PAC 12 regular season championship by four games. The BIG 10 totally shit the bed in the tournament. No worries about Bruin basketball there - Bruin football? That's another story.

by Anonymousreply 92March 24, 2023 4:18 PM

R89 Exactly, Timme looks like a guy working at the local auto parts store, fat, no chin, dumb, mouth breather, who needs a bath and smells... not in a good way.

by Anonymousreply 93March 24, 2023 4:20 PM

Good thing that basketball skills are the only thing that matter, R93.

by Anonymousreply 94March 24, 2023 6:17 PM

Sanogo and Clingan will slow him down.

by Anonymousreply 95March 24, 2023 7:25 PM

Under no circumstances is a Texas team to win.

I’m hoping for a TX and Houston loss.

by Anonymousreply 96March 24, 2023 7:34 PM

by Anonymousreply 99March 25, 2023 2:00 AM

by Anonymousreply 100March 25, 2023 2:35 AM

One of the weakest groups of #1 seeds in many years.

UConn should win this all now.

by Anonymousreply 101March 25, 2023 2:41 AM

Ucla sold its soul for 30 pieces of Midwest silver

by Anonymousreply 102March 25, 2023 1:23 PM

Florida Atlantic.....but I know I am doomed to disappointment.

by Anonymousreply 103March 25, 2023 3:29 PM

BIG 10's geography is now from California to New Jersey and Maryland, so I guess that silver is national, not midwestern.

by Anonymousreply 104March 25, 2023 4:09 PM

BIG 10 stretches the point for sure - in both math & geography.

by Anonymousreply 112March 25, 2023 11:36 PM

by Anonymousreply 113March 25, 2023 11:39 PM

R111 I agree.

What a great game. I love it when a team struts around like Kansas St. and then gets its pants pulled down by another team and everyone sees its ASS!

Fun! Metaphorically speaking, of course.

by Anonymousreply 114March 26, 2023 1:05 AM

He is hot! I looked him up during the game, of course. Usually super tall guys have strangely proportioned parts -- legs, faces, torsos. He looks well proportioned for somebody north of 7' tall.

Alas, it is Vladislav, not Vladimir. He goes by Vlad.

by Anonymousreply 115March 26, 2023 1:37 AM

Did not expect Princeton to lose so easily to Creighton, when they beat two teams so much better.

Would have been fun to have a smart, preppy school in there for once. They’ve always had a good team and agree the coach is hot!

by Anonymousreply 116March 26, 2023 2:13 AM

Would have been fun to have a smart, preppy school in there for once.

That’s not a very smart comment…just so you know.

by Anonymousreply 117March 26, 2023 8:34 AM

by Anonymousreply 118March 26, 2023 4:24 PM

Any hot guys?

by Anonymousreply 119March 26, 2023 4:50 PM

UConn looked awesome against the nasty little Zags. Glad to see those pesky little creeps go down.

The only thing stopping the Huskies now is Texas.

I hate Texas. Hate to see anything from Texas do well. So let's go Huskies!!

by Anonymousreply 120March 26, 2023 4:55 PM

UConn is looking the best by far of all remaining teams. But they have to keep it up.

Andre Jackson is special. In his meeting with Coach Hurley after last season, all he wanted to discuss, according to Hurley, was what the team needed from him this season. He’s a real leader and sets the tone. As one writer noted, last night “he was everything everywhere all at once.”

Every UConn player is bringing it, including Sanogo, who, because of Ramadan, goes into every game having not had any food or water since sunrise.

by Anonymousreply 121March 26, 2023 5:11 PM

Grant Hill is utterly fuckable

by Anonymousreply 122March 26, 2023 9:09 PM

I don't watch basketball very much anymore, but got San Diego State in our office pool, so I decided to watch the Creighton game. It was intense, and I am one step closer to winning a whopping sum of $50.

by Anonymousreply 123March 26, 2023 9:23 PM

UConn coach is a hot hot daddy

by Anonymousreply 126March 26, 2023 10:08 PM

I could get up Hurley in the morning

by Anonymousreply 127March 26, 2023 10:14 PM

Hurley and his wife are really good people. As a UConn fan, so thrilled we have him. He wants to win, but really cares about his guys, treats them well and throws himself under the bus before them.

by Anonymousreply 128March 26, 2023 10:54 PM

Who is the daddy who’s officiating Miami- Texas?

by Anonymousreply 129March 26, 2023 11:02 PM

Fuck the Longhorns!!

by Anonymousreply 130March 27, 2023 12:27 AM

Incredibly, I have FAU in the Final Four in my office bracket. It is the only team of mine left, but there is just one other who correctly picked a Final Four team. She has UConn in the championship game; I have FAU in it. If they both win Saturday, it will come down to the final game. If both lose next Saturday, we split the pot 75/25 in my favor because FAU is the lower seed. While it might not be a lot to most of you, the pot is $4000, and that is a lot to me.

by Anonymousreply 131March 27, 2023 12:47 AM

Cool, R131.

by Anonymousreply 132March 27, 2023 12:52 AM

I hope that Miami coach gets some heavy duty Poligrip for his dentures for the Final Four.

He about lost them several times during the game. Why the hell is a 73 year old guy still coaching?

by Anonymousreply 133March 27, 2023 6:51 PM

Yes-obviously the coach who got to the Final Four is too old to be there.

by Anonymousreply 134March 27, 2023 7:17 PM

Younger, hotter losers should be taking his place!

by Anonymousreply 135March 27, 2023 8:47 PM

What's next - he'll be sitting on a wooden stool on the sidelines like that big ass elephant from West Virginia, Bubba Huggins.

by Anonymousreply 136March 27, 2023 9:39 PM

Too bad the hot Primceton coach is out.

by Anonymousreply 137March 28, 2023 12:51 AM

Go Houston Coogs!

Oh wait..fuck!

by Anonymousreply 138March 28, 2023 12:58 AM

R136 I went to his dad's summer basketball camp for six years in elementary and junior high school and Bobby was there for all but my last year. He was a basketball star at Indian Valley South high school. The Huggins family ran the whole thing, Charlie (father) was in charge, Bobby's brothers participated in the camp, and his mother and sisters ran the mess hall.

This was in the 70s, so before AAU took over secondary school basketball. I just looked it up and it's now an AAU feeder. I see the Huggins family is still running it, probably Linda (Bobby's sister).

by Anonymousreply 139March 28, 2023 1:02 AM

Coaches will never release their death grip on anything.

by Anonymousreply 140March 28, 2023 1:36 AM

Here's hoping that the final is SDSU vs UConn, so that no team from Florida is in the game. Fuck DeSmegma.

I am also rooting for San Diego St. Go Aztecs!

by Anonymousreply 142April 1, 2023 10:41 PM

Yeah, I'm pulling for SDSU... but the FAU coach is the cutest coach left (and seems a little light in the loafers in the interviews).

The best part about watching Iowa’s women’s basketball team are the cutaways to Caitlin Clark’s hot dad in the audience!

One Florida team sent packing. A good start.

by Anonymousreply 147April 2, 2023 12:37 AM

Aztecs.... never gave up, they deserve the win. No time out... crazy.

Fuck me.

So, there is a God after all!

DeSantis will blame the Fla losses on drag queens. Too bad, Ron, there goes your photo op.

by Anonymousreply 152April 2, 2023 3:25 AM

I’ll root for the Puppies.

They have a guy from my hometown there.

by Anonymousreply 153April 2, 2023 5:04 AM

I'm kind of surprised SDSU still has the Aztec name.

by Anonymousreply 154April 2, 2023 5:08 AM

It’s a bad ass name, why not?

by Anonymousreply 155April 2, 2023 5:10 AM

^ because the SJWs will complain that it's racist

by Anonymousreply 156April 2, 2023 9:55 AM

Blue state final, yay!

by Anonymousreply 157April 2, 2023 10:25 AM

UConn feels inevitable. Throughout the tourney they’ve calmly taken care of business.

Every player is showing up.

Best shooter has a stomach bug all weekend? No problem.

Jackson, who is central to their offense, picks up two quick fails and has to sit? No problem.

It’s great to live in Connecticut.

As if you had anything to do with the win.

UConn should be a huge favorite. They've dominated in every game they've played in the tournament. But the Aztecs (a team name that was challenged in 2017 and was pretty much embraced by the SDSU community) is a group of big, strong, football-like players... it's going to be a rough and tumble game and if the refs continue to "let them play" I predict you'll see an upset.

by Anonymousreply 162April 2, 2023 4:10 PM

I'm behind the Aztecs all the way - but it will be a great game to watch.....

Unless UCONN pulls away in the first few minutes and leads all the way......

by Anonymousreply 163April 2, 2023 4:17 PM

Is Dusty Mae related to Elly Mae?

by Anonymousreply 164April 2, 2023 4:17 PM

UConn is going to crush SDSU.

by Anonymousreply 165April 2, 2023 6:06 PM

Not so quick, R165. I smell an upset brewing.

by Anonymousreply 166April 2, 2023 6:09 PM

You’re likely smelling delusion.

by Anonymousreply 167April 2, 2023 6:45 PM

Just a few more hours!

by Anonymousreply 168April 3, 2023 5:55 PM

Go Huskies! While my team is out, I'm an ACC loyalist above all else.

by Anonymousreply 169April 3, 2023 6:10 PM

Huskies are no ACC… But we are happy to have you rooting for our guys.

by Anonymousreply 170April 3, 2023 6:32 PM

I have the Huskies winning the whole thing on my chart -- in fact, I might actually win money this year.

by Anonymousreply 171April 3, 2023 11:13 PM

I hope the Mertz & Ricardo families are celebrating!

by Anonymousreply 172April 4, 2023 7:58 PM

You Con....

Jordan Hawkins of UConn just declared for the draft. He was charmingly shy. And effusively thankful to people like Dan Hurley and his teammates.

Seems worth rooting for.
