Before I turned 16 and was able to drive into Downtown Chicago, I walked the Forrest Preserves Chicagoland. There in the secreted woods were the public toilets. OP, I found this site when I was 24 (now 43). It was - and remains - a godsend to me. A lifeline to new ideas, gay history, crazy trolls, politics, etc.

I really wanted to go to San Francisco or Seattle, but my friend flaked on me. The guy I have been seeing would go with me, but money is tight. I would feel terrible if he paid.

I also have an affluent friend with houses n both Georgia and North Carolina who would pay my way except airfare, but I again would feel uncomfortable having him pay. I'm 26 and he's 76 (no kids, never married but straight, possibly repressed gay), but still would find it rude and uncouth. He keeps asking me when I will visit and I want to, but airfare is like $700-800 and I'm not sure if I want to pay it.

He has never married and as no kids. When I visit he asks if he can cuddle me because he longs for physical touch. Of course I let him.

I don't think he is gay, but I understand the longing for intimate human contact. It breaks my heart.
