Laura Linney- what isn't she a bigger star?

Funny I always thought she was an overrated actress. Could never stand her in anything she was in

Primal fear is an example of a movie with such a great cast (including Richard Gere, btw) and she’s always just so overbearing and unappealing and overacting. Is she one of those who’s just considered a great actress because she’s not pretty?

I love her voice and I’m a big fan of several of her performances.

She just ended a very popular Netflix series and is an awards show fixture whose reputation is firmly associated with quality work. Maybe she should have an Oscar by now, and she does have the talent to give a winning performance, but it’s hardly an injustice that she only has a shelf filled with Emmys.

I’d say she’s rated pretty fairly by most.

She is a phenomenal actor but unlike Streep, she hasn't done comedies and does she sing?

She is like Frances McDormand, in that she is a serious actress and never seems to need to do anything else.

Ms. Linney works a ton for an actress her age! She has a young child and a husband (who seems gay to me but whatevs) at home--perhaps working on location for months at a time became taxing after so many years, so she doesn't take on as many new projects. I bet LL saved her money and lives pretty comfortably.

R10 he was GREAT in that movie - and I credit him for continuing to stretch his chops and improve as an actor once he reached middle age and beyond. He deserved an Oscar nom for Arbitrage.

She is fine. But not underrated.

The really great actresses move into juicy character roles as they age. Laura reminds me of a bland aging ingenue.
