The reviews are bad. REALLY bad. Even Hollywood Reporter trashed this mess......They also took a veiled swipe at the younger cast----"like some children who aren’t so cute anymore after they’ve grown up a little, this follow-up lacks much of the appeal of its predecessor."......LoL

I liked the first one. It was fun. This one was bad.

R10, there are actually 2 cameos...sort of.

The first is like Superman from the first film. You never see the face. Shazam and her are having a romantic dinner and when he leans into kiss her and we finally see a face...it is the Wizard who is trying to tell him about the danger of the daughters of Atlas. It is pretty funny and we then learn it was just Billy's dream.

The second time is at the end of the film. Billy has died defeating Kalypso and the dragon and they bury him in the magic land. The Wizard is holding the staff and says he couldn't save Billy cause there are no more gods.

Then you hear something like, "Well maybe still one..." and it is Gal Gadot and they play the WW theme. She then grabs the staff, thrusts it into the ground and lightning strikes it making the tree of life bloom.

Then you see Billy's arm punch through the surface of his grave and everyone screams, "Zombie!!!" It is pretty funny.

He then kind of hits on her saying he'll be 18 soon and she kind of brushes him off...in a cute way.

Again, I don't get the critics hate. It was just as good as the first film and maybe even better.

When the kids confess to the foster parents that they're superheroes, they're all like "we're heroes!" except Pedro who says, "I'm gay!" Then a real sweet moment where everyone admits they knew and will always love him.

Sad. Scream is doing better than expected and Shazam is underperforming.

The producers also did The Jeffersons. Jack shoulda had two black girl roomies. One a tranny hooker Named Bobcat. The other with a disability of having a huge vagina that caused her extreme pain and embarrassment. Richard Kline woulda been a pimp of Bobcat and other girls in the building. He'd be living the high life whilst also getting free rent due to providing free hos for Mr Furley.

I saw it on Thursday. I liked the first movie and thought this was a fun sequel. Is it groundbreaking? No, but it was fun for a couple of hours. It's a fucking comic book movie. It's no better or no worse than most other comic book movies. I wasn't expecting "Citizen Kane" or anything. I don't know what the critics were expecting. What exactly do they want from comic book movies? Because it doesn't seem that they like any of them much now. Well, except for Black Panther. But, you know.

It was fine, it was fun. Mirren was really good and didn't go top cartoony and over-the-top the way some serious actors feel they need to do in comic book mo vies. Loved the cameo by 70s Billy Batson Michael Gray.

Billy and Freddy reminded me so much of Ryan and Seth in “The O.C.” Billy was like Ryan, the troubled kid who ends up with the foster family, and Freddy was like Seth, the geeky best friend into comic books. What’s funny is that Adam Brody played the grown up Freddy.
