Appetite Suppressants

Which are the best ones?

How can I get them?

Phenylpropanolamine (Dexatrim, etc) used to work like a charm for me. But you can’t get it any more.

by Anonymousreply 64March 21, 2023 10:33 PM

This, OP:

Yes, r1, that is very effective.

by Anonymousreply 2March 16, 2023 3:56 PM

You do know Wegovy (Ozempic if you're close with your doc) is an appetite suppressant as well, right? Just get that, you'll feel full for longer, and your fat rolls will start melting away.

by Anonymousreply 3March 16, 2023 4:00 PM

My doctor prescribed it, but my insurance company said no.

by Anonymousreply 4March 16, 2023 4:48 PM

They denied you for Wegovy, R4? Did they explain why?

by Anonymousreply 5March 16, 2023 4:50 PM

I use AYDS !!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 6March 16, 2023 4:59 PM

Explain why? Pffft!

by Anonymousreply 7March 16, 2023 5:03 PM

Cut out the carbs and you won’t be hungry.

by Anonymousreply 8March 16, 2023 5:06 PM

Drink a gallon of water a day

by Anonymousreply 9March 16, 2023 5:07 PM

R4, do you have Kaiser?

by Anonymousreply 10March 16, 2023 5:22 PM

No. Horizon Blue Cross

by Anonymousreply 11March 16, 2023 5:29 PM

Phentermine works. I went to a diet doctor for my rx years ago, no insurance coverage.

by Anonymousreply 12March 16, 2023 8:59 PM

Insurance companies generally will not prescribe Wegovy (or similar drugs) for weight loss

A month's supply is over $1,000..

If I lock you in a room for a month an feed you bread and water, you'll lose about a third of your body weight. So the insurance companies have a point

by Anonymousreply 13March 16, 2023 9:28 PM

Yeah, I’m not trying to get some expensive Rx. Just some good old fashioned otc drug that will eventually cause me to have a stroke!

by Anonymousreply 14March 16, 2023 9:32 PM

Get pseudoephedrine. It’s behind counter in drugstores.

by Anonymousreply 15March 16, 2023 9:49 PM

Ok, I’ve lost 10 lbs. been on semaglutide since late January. Took a two week break. Back on it. Plateaued for about 3-4 weeks with no weight loss. But I was eating so little I knew I had to have lost weight and it just wasn’t showing up on the scale. Been using Miralax - it’s a [italic] requirement [/italic]. No lie you’ve got to have it because you’ll get constipated. Also a requirement - Gas X, probiotics, zofran.

I get the worst side effect for about 4 days. Then, for 3 days, they’re not too bad. I’m on 0.5mg.

by Anonymousreply 16March 18, 2023 7:54 PM

Adderall, Welbutrin, Semaglutide (from a med spa or something since you were denied Ozempic- or from Canada), gastric balloon

by Anonymousreply 17March 18, 2023 7:56 PM

Use a tapeworm!

by Anonymousreply 18March 18, 2023 8:02 PM

THCV.

by Anonymousreply 19March 18, 2023 8:03 PM

R1 he strains his ramen. Is that as bad or worse than straining pasta?

Also, he and his female friend are eating those noodles out of literal dog dishes. My labrador has one(1) of those just like them.

by Anonymousreply 20March 18, 2023 8:05 PM

R1 looks like something from a Saw movie.

by Anonymousreply 21March 18, 2023 8:07 PM

Appetite Suppressants?

Greg's cooking.

by Anonymousreply 22March 18, 2023 8:14 PM

R22, you know you’d love my cooking. It’s excellent.

by Anonymousreply 23March 18, 2023 8:42 PM

Does eating carbs make one hungry?

by Anonymousreply 24March 18, 2023 8:43 PM

R13 How so? Bread is very fattening. It's the number one thing any expert will tell you to cut out from your diet, when talking about losing weight.

by Anonymousreply 25March 18, 2023 8:49 PM

Is Phenylpropanolamine still available in Mexico or Canada? It was the best! And worked great at reducing post-nasal drip. I think it got a bum rap because stupid young girls were taking 3 and 4 times the dosage and stroking out. I wouldn't be surprised if the companies that make more expensive prescription diet pills lobbied to have it banned.

by Anonymousreply 26March 18, 2023 8:49 PM

Carafate liquid for ulcers

by Anonymousreply 27March 18, 2023 9:00 PM

Oh oh oh… ozempic

by Anonymousreply 28March 18, 2023 9:06 PM

I'm poor so I guess it's meth for me. 😒

Darfur Orphan should be all over this thread.

Semi-related....

His weight loss is via thread worms.

by Anonymousreply 30March 18, 2023 9:11 PM

Alright, you want some terrible old school, hurt your liver advice?

NoDoz and black coffee in the AM Salad for lunch, light protein. Protein and veggies for dinner. Work out for an hour. Take one or two Benadryl at 7pm and knock yourself out until the AM. Lots of water.

Give it a week.

Get rid of plates, bowels, pots, pans, and cutlery. You won’t be able to eat. Problem solved.

by Anonymousreply 34March 19, 2023 1:13 AM

Throw out the fridge.

by Anonymousreply 35March 19, 2023 1:14 AM

This must be the last outpost of the Internet that TikT0k thinsp0 hasn't yet infiltrated. And I am so very thankful for that.

by Anonymousreply 36March 19, 2023 1:20 AM

I use coffee and cigarettes , works like a charm

by Anonymousreply 39March 19, 2023 1:41 AM

At my old job, I had a coworker who was a bodybuilder and he let me try some of these speed-like supplements he was taking. (It worked.) I have forgotten the name.

There's something called PhenQ, but it seems like its active ingredient is caffeine.

My advice: drink lots of water. Do a thorough brushing and flossing of teeth in the early evening. No more eating after that.

by Anonymousreply 40March 19, 2023 1:49 AM

R40 fenfen ? It ruined peoples hearts.fda pulled it from the market.

by Anonymousreply 41March 19, 2023 1:57 AM

R41, OP will be ruining hearts when he's a sexy, thin bitch!

by Anonymousreply 42March 19, 2023 2:10 AM

R41, no, it wasn't fenfen. It was a controversial drug that was OTC and legal, and then it was illegal. Fenfen was rx, IIRC.

by Anonymousreply 43March 19, 2023 2:11 AM

Like you even need to ask.

Hahahahaha!

by Anonymousreply 49March 20, 2023 12:03 PM

Did Dexatrim have horrible side-effects? Or just not work that well? Why did it fall out of use?

by Anonymousreply 50March 20, 2023 9:35 PM

Konjac noodles are like slimy snot, or the slightly chunky white stuff in cum., Just no.

Bacopa supps. Helps your thyroid as well, and mental acuity and focus. But paradoxically you need to eat something before taking, or risk the Wrath of Kahn.

by Anonymousreply 55March 21, 2023 1:18 AM

R55 'Wrath of Khan' what are we talking here?

by Anonymousreply 56March 21, 2023 1:22 AM

what fucks me up is I actually have low appetite but slow metabolism. worst combo bc you can eat next to nothing and still have a fat flabby belly and thighs. but also good in that you can afford to eat more and it won't affect much. my sis always nagging me to eat more food so i can actually lose weight and get out of starvation mode but i find it so tiring and uncomfortable to have a full normal adult meal. i like picking at food and eating baby portions.

by Anonymousreply 57March 21, 2023 1:24 AM

Get Covid. I haven’t had an appetite or felt hungry going on my third week.

by Anonymousreply 58March 21, 2023 1:44 AM

r56 cramps and diarrhea. Eat a piece of toast or something else before taking and you should be good.

by Anonymousreply 59March 21, 2023 2:20 AM

You can always scan the FDA product recall list for OTC diet pills that contain controlled substances like silbutramine. Then go on eBay (and sometimes even Etsy) and buy them because eBay, and the sellers, don’t give a rats ass about FDA recalls. Or so I’ve heard. I wouldn’t know from experience recently at all. No way.

I’ve seen dexitrim in some stores

by Anonymousreply 61March 21, 2023 2:31 AM

Dexatrim is now a different formula. Useless.

by Anonymousreply 62March 21, 2023 4:20 AM

r4, my insurance company also denied Wegovy, because it's only for weight loss and they won't pay for weight loss anything. Ozempic is basically the same thing but it's for type 2 diabetes, and I was (just barely) pre-diabetic, so insurance paid for it. If your hemoglobin A1c is 5.7% or higher, you should be able to get a prescription for it and get it paid by insurance.

I'm pretty sure Ozempic was created for people like us who need (or want) Wegovy but can't get it, so they formulated a version that's technically for T2 diabetes, making it insurance friendly.

by Anonymousreply 63March 21, 2023 4:42 AM

The best appetite suppressant is honestly social anxiety. Or it is for me, anyway. I can only ever eat half the normal amount when I have company over to the house or I have to go out to eat as a social event. Even my usual desire to graze and nibble ebbs away. I just always feel ill and shaky and averse to food when put in that scenario, preferring to sip ice water until I can escape.

And weirdly I have the same with sex, too, I just lose libido around other people, especially if I don't know them or trust them or like then.
