What Is Your Beverage of Choice?

Are you a water drinker, sparkling water, crystal light, soda, coffee, tea, etc?

I tend to gravitate towards Soda (coke / diet coke). I'm wondering what beverages others find themselves sipping on throughout the day. I'd like to try to be a better water drinker.

by Anonymousreply 94March 18, 2023 9:24 PM

Fizz water, no flavored ones though. Just fizz. No preferred brand.

by Anonymousreply 1March 16, 2023 3:29 PM

Mineral water with a dash of lemon slice

by Anonymousreply 2March 16, 2023 3:31 PM

Water with light flavoring. I used to be a Perrier whore, until I found out that too much sparkling water is bad for your teeth. I'm still in mourning.

by Anonymousreply 3March 16, 2023 3:32 PM

Assuming we're talking soft drinks, I love sparkling water. Fresh orange juice in the morning. Earl Grey tea at tea-time.

by Anonymousreply 4March 16, 2023 3:35 PM

I just drink plain water. or once in a while, tea.

by Anonymousreply 5March 16, 2023 3:58 PM

Arnold Palmers in the morning, ice water in the afternoon and at night, soda for special occasions - Fresca in the summer, cola in the winter.

by Anonymousreply 6March 16, 2023 4:02 PM

Coffee. On the advice of my heart doctor, I limit myself to one cup of regular in the morning and then switch to decaf for the remainder of the day, drinking a total of about 4 cups.

by Anonymousreply 7March 16, 2023 4:25 PM

Water, coffee, and wine is what I drink almost everyday

A big glass of water first thing, then coffee in the morning, then wine at night. I drink a lot of water throughout the day too.

by Anonymousreply 8March 16, 2023 4:31 PM

You day long coffee drinkers .. not worried about bad breath? People around you are!

by Anonymousreply 9March 16, 2023 4:34 PM

Water and iced decaf coffee gets me through the day. A large iced decaf from Dunkin, since it's on my way to work.

by Anonymousreply 10March 16, 2023 4:37 PM

Water with lemon. Basically lemonade without the sugar. šŸ˜†

by Anonymousreply 11March 16, 2023 4:49 PM

R3 what the hell is "light flavoring?"

by Anonymousreply 12March 16, 2023 4:58 PM

Water, tea, coffee. Just discovered Spinxrift flavored sparkling water for occasional enjoyment.

by Anonymousreply 13March 16, 2023 5:00 PM

I should probs cut down on the Coke but I like it so bloody much!

by Anonymousreply 18March 16, 2023 5:10 PM

I am addicted to Diet Coke.

by Anonymousreply 19March 16, 2023 5:18 PM

by Anonymousreply 24March 16, 2023 6:39 PM

decaf green iced tea

by Anonymousreply 25March 16, 2023 6:41 PM

Decaf coffee drinkers beware. I recently weaned myself off of coffee (caffeine) by incrementally substituting decaf for caffeinated. E.g., 80% caf / 20% decaf, then 60% caf / 40% decaf, and so on.

At the end, when I quit coffee altogether, I still had that wiped-out feeling of going cold turkey on coffee.

My conclusion: there's a lot more caffeine in decaf than you think.

by Anonymousreply 26March 16, 2023 6:48 PM

R26 may be right, at least sort of.

I saw something recently saying decaf could stop the dreaded "no caf" headaches. It has enough to keep the worst of the blahs at bay.

by Anonymousreply 27March 16, 2023 7:05 PM

One coffee in the morning and ice water the rest of the day. I would love to have a can of Coke a day but itā€™s so fattening and bad for you. I donā€™t buy it anymore. I might have one or two cans of Coke a month now.

by Anonymousreply 28March 16, 2023 7:11 PM

Water, coffee, lemonade and this stuff.

OP "I'd like to try to be a better water drinker."

You have to try to drink water? It's so very difficult to drink water instead of GARBAGE BEVERAGES such as COKE?

You need to discuss this in some what? Because discussion is going to help you rise to the great challenge of drinking water?

by Anonymousreply 30March 16, 2023 7:42 PM

I drink double-filtered water, no ice. I also drink hot, herbal-type tea, e.g., rooibos, "Country Peach Passion" (Celestial Seasonings).

by Anonymousreply 31March 16, 2023 7:43 PM

Coffee, tea, juice, coke, water and wine.

by Anonymousreply 32March 16, 2023 7:43 PM

Either tap water or Poland Spring gallon jugs I buy at Costco.

by Anonymousreply 33March 16, 2023 7:47 PM

Evian water, Crystal Light, Raspberry Royal iced tea, Kirkland Signature iced green tea, Caribou coffee.

by Anonymousreply 34March 16, 2023 7:47 PM

Love an ice-cold Perrier

by Anonymousreply 35March 16, 2023 8:02 PM

I sneak in coconut water too, the king coconut water sold in Trader Joe's is very good and still inexpensive

by Anonymousreply 36March 16, 2023 8:10 PM

I am a major tea addict, both hot and cold. I love Chai with some ginger added, Earl Grey, English Breakfast and Constant Comment spiced tea. I have at least two large glasses up until about 1 pm, then switch to water.

Sometimes I'll have coffee on the weekends, but I don't tolerate like I used to. A new variety of tea is better. Chamomile is reserved for nighttime or if I have a cold.

by Anonymousreply 37March 16, 2023 8:11 PM

Couple of espressos first thing, then alternate between water and green tea the rest of the day. One little Brandy and ginger at night...sometimes (not a big booze drinker)

by Anonymousreply 38March 16, 2023 8:32 PM

Pepsi during the day

Cristal champagne at night

by Anonymousreply 39March 16, 2023 8:38 PM

Fresca! And La Croix Key Lime Sparkling Water, it has a lovely aftertaste of notes of vanilla.

by Anonymousreply 40March 16, 2023 9:44 PM

Iced drinks: 1) Coke Zero, 2) tea, 3) water.

Hot drinks: 1) espresso, doppio or americano, 2) tea, 3) chicken broth.

by Anonymousreply 41March 17, 2023 12:50 AM

I like a guzzle of something I've had to work a little for.

by Anonymousreply 42March 17, 2023 12:52 AM

by Anonymousreply 43March 17, 2023 12:56 AM

Whiskey, itā€™s a mixer Pats!

by Anonymousreply 49March 17, 2023 1:38 AM

1/2 pot of black coffee, using 66.67% decaf and 33.33% caffeinated, vanilla nut flavor. Consumption takes place from start of day to mid afternoon.

Multiple glasses of plain tap water, unfiltered.

1 La Croix per day. Flavor varies, from this array: Lemon, Lime, Orange, Tangerine, Pamplemousse

I rarely drink alcohol as it sometimes seems to cause rapid heart rate the next morning.

by Anonymousreply 50March 17, 2023 1:54 AM

The Original Ice Cold Coca Cola, with real sugar.

Fresh, Clean, Cold bottled water.

šŸ€ Shamrock Shakes ( with a side of fries )

Cactus Cooler

by Anonymousreply 57March 17, 2023 3:05 AM

The Darfur Orphan doesn't post about ice cold Cokes and Shamrock Shakes. GTFOOH. The Darfur Orphan has never seen or heard of those things.

If you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the character, you don't get to take part in the collaborative fiction. Just stop already. You don't know what you're doing. You don't take a character that's been developed here for over a decade and put your own little "spin" on it. Just fuck off with that bullshit. Pipe down. Observe and learn first.

R56, you're fine. Well done.

by Anonymousreply 58March 17, 2023 3:11 AM

For those who drink diet coke vs coke zero or vice versa, what's the difference? Why drink one over the other?

I haven't had diet soda in 20 years, so I'm just curious of the difference between the two

by Anonymousreply 59March 17, 2023 3:20 AM

R58 Pay Attention ...... I've had a real job for 3 years, my own apartment, and a ten speed bicycle. I'm a success story ! And I love Coca Cola and dining at Mickey D's.

Do Get with it r58. Do you think I've been sitting on my butt for the last ten years with my finger up my ass and spinning in circles? Someday I'm gonna own the world.

Pay attention

by Anonymousreply 60March 17, 2023 5:02 AM

R58 I have no idea what you do for a living, but I hope you have enough money to get your RX refills today. Your sounding a little JPN*

*Just Plain Nuts

by Anonymousreply 61March 17, 2023 5:25 AM

Lemon vitamin water zero. I was feeling superior about the fact the primary sweetener is erythritol, the only one aside from monk fruit that doesnā€™t made you fat, like sucralose. But now Iā€™m reading the it creates a higher incidence of heart/ stroke problems. I hate plain water. Sigh.

by Anonymousreply 62March 17, 2023 5:33 AM

Another Crystal Light drinker here

by Anonymousreply 63March 17, 2023 5:35 AM

water, coffee and herbal tea hot

by Anonymousreply 64March 17, 2023 5:50 AM

An ice cold BOTTLE of Coca Cola fresh from the icebox, and donā€™t let the child near me until after Iā€™ve got one finished off or there will be hell to pay.

by Anonymousreply 65March 17, 2023 9:06 AM

Hello 1923 r65

Cola fresh from the icebox

by Anonymousreply 66March 17, 2023 11:47 AM

I recommend vodka, dear.

by Anonymousreply 67March 17, 2023 11:53 AM

Mostly hot black tea. If I've had too much caffeine, peppermint/other herbal tea.

by Anonymousreply 68March 17, 2023 12:19 PM

R59 Coke Zero tastes better IMO. Less chemical taste and close to real sweetness.

by Anonymousreply 69March 17, 2023 2:57 PM

Water, diet iced tea.

by Anonymousreply 70March 17, 2023 3:00 PM

R69, Coke Zero is too sweet for me, Diet Coke is preferred.

by Anonymousreply 71March 17, 2023 3:04 PM

Coffee, a bottle of San Pelleigrino a day, Poland Spring, occasionally red wine, beer, tea.

I'm just a not interested in Coke and all those other sugared or artificially sweetened drinks. I can't remember the last time I had one.

by Anonymousreply 72March 17, 2023 3:58 PM

Coffee, seltzer with fresh lemon or lime, and diet coke.

by Anonymousreply 73March 17, 2023 4:20 PM

R12- Not heavily flavored.

by Anonymousreply 74March 17, 2023 4:22 PM

R72 get off your high horse. Beer isnā€™t healthy.

ā€œ I'm just a not interested in Coke and all those other sugared or artificially sweetened drinks. I can't remember the last time I had oneā€.

by Anonymousreply 75March 17, 2023 4:27 PM

For the idiot at R75...please point out where I said beer is healthy.

Be that as it may, compared to Coke and all that other crap it actually is better for you.

R76 get off your high horse.

by Anonymousreply 77March 17, 2023 4:35 PM

R76 Iā€™m drinking a Pepsi zero sugar.

by Anonymousreply 78March 17, 2023 4:36 PM

Coconut šŸ„„ water šŸŒ“

I got stopped drinking ALL soda at the beginning of 2023 and I don't feel as sluggish and tired.

For alcohol drinks, White Claw, Mike's Hard Lemonade šŸ‹ and Scotch with a water back.

by Anonymousreply 79March 17, 2023 4:38 PM

Raspberry Lime polar seltzer water, black coffee. Soda is trashy.

by Anonymousreply 80March 17, 2023 4:42 PM

Jethro at R77 thinks not having a taste for sugary sodas is snobbish!

by Anonymousreply 81March 17, 2023 4:44 PM

No, Nancy, I think your fucking comment was a barb like you think youā€™re somehow better than those who choose to occasionally enjoy a soft drink.

by Anonymousreply 82March 17, 2023 4:48 PM

Now I remember the last time I had a Coke.

It was in Milan at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. A mini Coke in a glass bottle with a small sandwich of prosciutto and sweet butter on white bread with crusts removed.

How's that for you R77?

by Anonymousreply 83March 17, 2023 4:50 PM

R83 thatā€™s so you.

by Anonymousreply 84March 17, 2023 4:54 PM

Twinnings English Breakfast, and Irish Breakfast has even more tippy assam, Iā€™m down with that 100 percent, breakfast of champions.

by Anonymousreply 85March 17, 2023 4:57 PM

I hope the soda, LaCroix, coconut water, bottled water drinkers are recycling the plastic & aluminum.

by Anonymousreply 86March 17, 2023 5:04 PM

R86- The plastic bottles mostly go into a landfill anyways. It costs more money to recycle plastic than it does to produce new plastic. China isn't taking our shit anymore, either.

by Anonymousreply 87March 17, 2023 5:22 PM

I recycle all my cans. I'd rather the plastic go to the landfill instead of the ocean, so what little plastic I buy goes into the trash instead.

by Anonymousreply 88March 18, 2023 3:01 AM

[quote]I hope the soda, LaCroix, coconut water, bottled water drinkers are recycling the plastic & aluminum.

I hope you are only drinking tap water and eating vegetables you grew in your own backyard without using any pesticides. Otherwise you deserve to be scorned.

by Anonymousreply 89March 18, 2023 7:37 AM

I make sure to throw all my recycle products out the window along the highway, to give to create jobs lazy fucks don't even want.

by Anonymousreply 90March 18, 2023 12:00 PM

Coke Zero, Canada Dry Ginger Ale.

by Anonymousreply 91March 18, 2023 12:27 PM

Mostly seltzer. I used to drink a TON of Diet Coke and I still love it, but have cut way down by using soda stream. It wasnā€™t intentional, just happened. I have issues with alcohol and my weight so I would not have gotten rid of a crutch that was working for secondary health (secondary because there is no way DC is as bad for me as an extra 30 pounds or a chronic alcohol abuse) or environmental reasons, but itā€™s still nice that Iā€™m producing fewer empties and not consuming as many chemicals. I also donā€™t care that much about looking trashy, but it is sort of a low rent look. I would hesitate before ordering Diet Coke in a decent restaurant if I was with someone I didnā€™t know very well. Vacationed in a rental recently so was drinking diet soda and seltzer and the number of empty cans was ridiculous. It was literally trashy.

I used to drink coffee all day, too, but my stomach canā€™t tolerate it as well anymore and I donā€™t sleep as well as I used to so now itā€™s usually just one large mug first thing.

At work I drink water or cold herbal iced tea and the occasional hot caffeinated tea with milk.

by Anonymousreply 92March 18, 2023 12:52 PM

Bigelow ā€œI love lemonā€ herbal tea
